Happy Tuesday Crafty Friends! Priscilla here from the Kat Scrappiness Design Team. Today I am sharing a Mother’s Day card featuring an adorable quokka, complete with her own British “Fascinator” headpiece. A quokka (pronounced k waa-kuh) is a short-tailed scrub wallaby from Australia. She’s known as the “World’s Happiest Animal.” What an appropriate critter then to wish any Mom a “Happy Mother’s Day!”
I used the Kat Scrappiness Valentine Quokka Stamp Set and Coordinating dies, the Happy Mother’s Day Word Die and Shadow, and several papers from the new 6″ x 8″ Spring Fling Paper Pad.
Card Details:
- Created an A2 top-folding white card base.
- Cut a layer of coral paper from the Spring Fling Paper Pad and adhered it to the card base.
- Die cut a slightly smaller piece of floral paper from the Spring Fling Paper Pad and adhered it over the coral layer.
- Stamped and colored the quokka with Copic Markers and die cut her out with the coordinating die.
- Fussy cut a small floral image from the same floral paper to use as a head piece.
- Adhered the quokka to the front of the card.
- Cut the “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment from the same coral Spring Fling paper using the Happy Mother’s Day Word Die and Shadow and adhered it onto the coordinating shadow die cut using an aqua paper from the paper pad.
- Adhered the finished die cut sentiment over the quokka.
