    Sending Love Card

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. I have another CityScape Slimline card to share with you this time in the early morning setting when the light shines just right from the reflection from the windows. I often see the downtown buildings in a radiant gold color. Below you will find the steps to create your own Sending Love card.

Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 7” x 8 1/2”, score at 3 1/2” and fold in half for a horizontal fold card. (Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim White Cardstock to 3 1/2” x 8 1/2” and apply clouds using ink of your choice. I used Distress Oxide Speckled Egg and Stormy Sky.

Step 3 – Diecut Double Stitched Nesting Slimline to the background created in step 2. Matte it with Black Ground about 1/8” border. Adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 4 – Diecut Slimine Layered Cityscape using Kraft Metallic Cardstock. Adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 5 – Diecut He Is Risen (clouds) three times using White Cardstock. Adhere to two clouds to the card using Foam Tape. Stamp tiny sentiment on the third cloud using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Step 6 – For added interest and sparkle randomly adhere Sparkling Clear Jewels using a Crystal Katana and Collage Medium.

This card can be used for several occasions by changing the colours and sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

I Need Some Coffee Right MEOW!

Hi Everyone, it’s Priscilla here. Today I want to share a card I made for the Kat Scrappiness Blog  featuring the newly released “Coffee Time Background Die.”

This full A2-sized background die is the perfect backdrop for any coffee-themed card. Plus I paired this die with another Kat Scrappiness coffee product – the “Layered Coffee Cup” die.

To create this card, I followed these steps:

    1. Ran the “Coffee Time Background Die” through my Big Shot  using white card stock before adhering it to a brown A2 card base.
    2. Created the coffee cup using the “Layered Coffee Cup” die and then used brown ink with Newton’s Nook“Gingham Stencil” to color it.
    3. Stamped one of the images from the Newton’s Nook “Newton Loves Coffee” stamp set onto the coffee sleeve and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers before adhering it to the front of the cup.
    4. White heat embossed the sentiment from the stamp set onto a brown card stock strip and placed it at the bottom of the card.
    5. Adhered the finished coffee cup on the card front.
    6. Added 3 of the Kat Scrappiness “Coffee Beans” for a finishing touch.

    That’s it!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Don’t forget to check out what’s NEW in Kat’s Shop, and follow my blog and Instagram for more “Kat Scrappiness Amazingness”!

    Christmas Cityscape

I’ve been having too much fun with the new Kat Scrappiness slimline dies and getting a jump on Christmas cards, too!

For my card, I cut white cardstock using one of the new Double Stitched Nesting Slimline dies to create a ‘frame’ and adhered to the cardbase.  Using one of the Tri-Frame Slimline Dies, I cut white cardstock then blended several distress inks using the Pink & Main Ergonomic Brush to create the sky.

The new Slimline Cityscape Dies are fabulous!  I cut Tonic Studios Mirrory Glossy Cardstock with the base die and black cardstock with the ‘buildings’ die. When these two pieces are layered, it looks like lights in the building windows!

The Kat Scrappiness Merry Critters stamps set is one of my favorite sets!  How cute are these sweet reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh?!  To finish the card, I added a few Light Gold Solid Stars which were so easy to apply with the Crystal Katana Dual-Tipped Pick-up Tool.

    Happy Mail

    WHO DOESN’T LOVE HAPPY MAIL?!

    I KNOW I DO!

    ?

Hi! It’s Lisa here with you today from Oh So Cute By Lisa, let’s make some Happy Mail!

It’s my turn on the Kat Scrappiness blog today and I’ve created a fun shaker card that was inspired by

a new embellishment in the Kat Scrappiness online craft store!

Take a look at these adorable little Happy Mail Sprinkles!

From the minute I got my hands on these little cuties I knew I wanted to make a card that had a mailbox on it with a shaker window for these little envelopes and here it is!

I just love how this card came out and it was super easy to create!

Since I don’t own a specific mailbox die I figured out a way to make my own mailbox and I’m going to show you how I did it today!

For my mailbox I started with a top rounded Tag Die. The top part of it is shaped like the top of a mailbox so I took the smallest die in the Kat Scrappiness Double Stitched Square Dies and cut out a notch in the bottom of the tag die.

The remaining shape looked just like a mailbox.

I then took the smallest die from the Double Stitched Square Dies again and cut a window out of the lower part of the tag so I could create a shaker window.

Once I had the window cut out I took a sheet of Kat Scrappiness A2 Acetate Sheets  and cut out a small enough piece to cover the back side of that small square window.

To make the half circle on top of the mailbox I used the smallest die from the Double Stitched Circle Dies and cut it in half creating a half circle where I could stamp my sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Envelops Sentiments Stamp Set. I added one envelope and one heart from the Happy Mail Sprinkles and the Red Heart Sprinkles on either side of the sentiment.

Here is a picture collage tutorial step by step of how I created the mailbox with the shaker window and half circle for my sentiment.

I used foam tape to build up the area around the window so it would hold my shaker bits.

The next step was to prepare the base of my card to adhere the shaker mailbox to.  The Stitched Postage Stamp Edge Rectangle Nesting Dies are the perfect dies to create fun background panels for your cards.  I used the largest die from that set, cut out some white card stock and did some fun stenciling using a heart stencil! I just love how the cute little red hearts looked all over the background.

Once the background was ready I tied some red and white twine around the top and adhered it to a blue card base to match my mailbox.

Next I sprinkled some of the Happy Mail Sprinkles and the Red Heart Sprinkles into the middle of the stenciled panel. I then removed the backing from all the foam tape behind the mailbox and centered the window over the cute sprinkles. I actually angled the mailbox just because I thought it gave it a fun random look.

I loved the little envelopes SO much I added a bunch more of them around the card in between the stenciled hearts.

It was a lot of fun to make my own mailbox. Just because you don’t have a specific die sometimes doesn’t mean you can’t shop your die collection and make something unique!

Thank you so much for joining me on my blog today! I hope you’ll check out all of the great crafty products over at Kat Scrappiness! There are literally hundreds of embellishments to create the most unique and fun shaker cards like mine! There are sequins, sprinkles, jewels, coffee beans and so much more!

    Island Escape

Good Day to all you happy crafters,

Today’s card is all about the use of an Add-on Stamp Set. Kat Scrappiness has added these fun add on Stamps to go along with the Summer Gnome Stamp Set. This does not mean we must use them together, I often like to use stamps in ways other then the obvious.

I started by creating the background for the card. Using a layer 1, l stamped clouds and birds on the top half. Next I cut a half circle in brown to form an island and added some brown splatter to the island. Next I used the Kat Scrappiness Wave die to cut out many waves in various shades of sea blue card stock to make the ocean.

I stamped the shells and sand castle from the add on set to place on the island. I stamped the sentiment onto a banner to match the card base. I decided to add a thin blue frame to high lite the island. Finally I added a few sequins to complete the card.
