Hey Everyone! It’s Priscilla again, happy to be back as the November Guest Designer on the Kat Scrappinessblog. Today I have several cards to show you, all using the new “Foliage Frame” and “Snowflake Kisses” dies from Kat‘s new release.
I had a blast creating some “snow themed” cards with these, then a Christmas one, and finally some autumn-inspired Sympathy cards.
Here’s my first card:
I used several blue toned Distress Oxide Inkson a white die cut “Foliage Frame,” and then sprayed it with a shimmer mist to give it that “frosty” look. I layered a second frame under it to give it more dimension before adhering it to slate blue card stock layer that I had sponged “Picket Fence”Distress Ink through the opening of a snow stencil. Next, I die cut three “Snowflake Kisses” from heavy white card stock, adhered them together to make one very dimensional sentiment, and centered it at a slight angle in the leafy opening of the card. For finishing touches, I sprinkled Kat Scrappiness‘s “Snow Flurries”sequin mix around the sentiment.
On to Card #2:
I created a similar card, but this time I added “snow” on the leaf edges with a “Snow Marker”. I also changed the sentiment to match the sponged blue frame before adhering it to a white “bead board” background. Again I sprinkled some of the “Snow Flurries” sequin mixture across the front of the card.
For Card #3, I added the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Kat Scrappiness“Merry Critters” stamp set to make the snow themed card into a holiday one.
I also sponged blues and purples Distress Oxide Inksto make a striking back drop for the white die cut “Snowflake Kisses” sentiment. I added a die cut snow bank and two snowflakes in the left bottom corner. This snowflake die was part of the “Snowflake Kisses” die set .
Here’s all three cards using the “Foliage Frame” and “Snowflake Kisses” dies!
Not wanting to put this foliage die away quite yet, I made three autumn-inspired Sympathy cards that I unfortunately needed to send.
This time I sponged “Fire Brick,” “Dusty Concord,” and “Fossilized Amber” Distress Oxide Inksonto the “Foliage Frames,” which I had first run through a “wood” design embossing folder, and then added rose gold heat embossed accents. I mounted two of them on eggplant colored card stock, and one on deep navy card stock. I use the same rose gold embossing powder and covered the Kat Scrappiness“Sorry” die cuts with it and adhered them in the centers of the frames. For the middle card, I found an appropriate sentiment in my stash and heat embossed it in that same rose gold powder.
The supplies I used are listed and linked below. Please don’t forget to use my coupon code “Priscilla10” for 10% off your order at the shop.
I’ll see you later in the month with more cards from the Kat Scrappinessnew release.
Happy crafting!
