Easter Chicks with Guest Designer Meghan Kennihan

Hi Crafty Friends,

I am BEYOND EXCITED to be Guest Designing for Kat Scrappiness this month. It is one of my FAVORITE companies. They not only carry amazing products but have a fabulous facebook group and monthly challenges. Kat Scrappiness released some amazing Easter die sets in March and they are perfect for quick and fun Easter cards, no coloring necessary. For my first card, I decided to go with diecuts only. I will walk you through my process after you answer my Make Crafty Friends Q & A that I include in every blog post so we can all be friends!

Make Crafty Friends Q & A:

Q: Have you ever held a baby chick? Do you own chickens?

A: Me? My aunt lives on a farm so every summer I got to hold a million baby chicks. It was soooo much fun to visit her and collect the eggs although I was terrified of the roosters :). I wish I could own chickens, it would save me a lot of money on eggs.I started my card by inking the edges of my yellow plaid panel. Then I diecut the grass hills from the Kat Scrappiness He Has Risen Set out of three different patterned green papers and taped the grassy hills on my plaid panel.

Next, I diecut the chick and egg shells from the Kat Scrappiness Crafter’s Essentials Easter Edition Dies. Again, I inked the edges to make them pop from the panel. I also used the clouds from the He has Risen set to create a spring weather background.

I finished my card by taping all my dies onto the panel. Then I added the Happy Easter Sentiment, the eyes and little cheeks on the chicks, and the tails of the butterflies.

Thank you so much for checking out my blog. Please take a moment to comment and follow so you can answer all the Make Crafty Friends Q & As and follow me on Instagram here!
