Stretch Your Dies | Winter Birthday Card

Hello! Amanda here. I hope you are well and getting everything done in preparation for the upcoming holidays. Today, I am sharing more ideas to stertch your dies using some Kat Scrappiness dies. Maybe it will even spark some creativity to stretch some other dies you own too! Let’s take a look at some finished product pictures first.

I think this card is great for winter birthdays, but could also be great for a masculine birthday card. If you didn’t do the snowflake background from the Crafter’s Essential Winter Die Set, you could color the ground cover green and it wouldn’t have to be winter themed.

I did prepare a video tutorial for you today. I hope you enjoy!

    Festive Candy Bar Wrappers

Hello Friends!  Donna W. here today sharing 2 festive projects using some fun papers and die cuts from Kat Scrappiness.  Before I get to my projects, I want to remind everyone of the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo Sale at the Kat Scrappiness Shop.  From now until the 18th of December, save 15% on all products in the Christmas – Hanukkah – New Years themed category using the code:  XMASEXPO

Now let’s get to the fun stuff – I’ve created 2 festive Candy Bar Wrappers!

The wrappers are easier to put together than you may think and make a great stocking stuffers.  These particular wrappers cover a King Size Hershey Chocolate Bar.  Here’s how I put them together:
    • Trim a piece of white card to 6″ x 7″ (or use any color you wish for the base).
    • Score on the 6″ side at 2.25″, 2.5″, 4.75″ and 5″.
    • Fold and burnish on the score lines.
    • Trim a piece of designer paper to 2 1/8 x 6 7/8 to cover the front or top of the wrapper.  For my designer papers, I’ve used snippets of card from the Kat Scrappiness Rainbow Dreams and Rainbow Confetti Slimline paper packs.
    • Adhere your designer paper and any embellishments you wish to add on the front of the wrapper.
    • Assemble the Wrapper using heavy duty double sided tape along the back seam.

For my embellishments, I’ve used the Christmas Wishes Word Die with Shadow, colored a Christmas Tree from the Quokka Christmas Costume Add-On Stamp Set, ribbon, Baker’s Twine and glitter card from my stash.  The Candy Bars fit snug within the wrapper but not too snug as to be difficult getting them in and out.
We are getting close to the big day so if you’re in need of something quick and easy, try these candy wrappers for those last minute Stocking Extras.  They would also make wonderful gifts for Teachers, Neighbors, Friends, the Postal Carrier, the Amazon Driver (if you’re like me – you’re on a first name basis with them).
I want to wish you and yours a very Happy Christmas and Joyous New Year.  May your Christmas be filled with Love, Joy and Gratitude.
Thanks for your visit!  Until next time, Happy Crafting!
    Donna

Mini Slimline Clear Thank You Card

    Hello crafty friends!

It’s Alicia a.k.a. Crafty Al here to share a look at the clear front mini slimline thank you card that I created using some of the new products from Kat Scrappiness.

For my patterned papers I used 2 sheets from the Ugly Sweater Slimline Paper Pad and the green polka dot frame on the front was die cut using one of the Mini Slimline Reverse Scallop dies. I made the clear front using a piece of ‘clear cardstock’ from the Slimline Acetate Sheet – 25 pack.

To decorate the front I used the Thanks Sentiment w/Shadow die set and some snowflakes from the Christmas Funfetti Sprinkle Mix.

To ‘hide’ the personal message from the front of the card I created a smaller inner card that was covered with the fun penguin / santa / gingerbread pattern. From the front it looks like the frame is on the inner card, but it is actually on the front of the acetate. I just love all of the layers you can get with a clear front, but without a lot of bulk. 🙂

You can check out my video for the full process…

    Merry Christmas

    Hello everyone!

It’s Donna Idlet here sharing a Christmas mini slimline card.  I love the color purple and I really love how this card came together.  It’s clean and simple but elegant.

Can you believe it is only 13 days before Christmas?  For those of you who celebrate, have you gotten your Christmas cards mailed?  I haven’t, but I have gotten most of my Christmas shopping done.

Here is my card for your inspiration:
Here is how I created the card:
    • Cut the white Slimline Card Base: 6″ x 3 1/2″ (6″ x 7″, scored at 3 1/2″).
    • Die cut the top layer using Mini Slimline Zig Zag Dies using KS Sugar Plum Fairies slimline paper pad.
    • Die cut the word die from KS Merry Christmas W/Shadow Die, using vellum for the shadow and purple mirrored paper.
    • Die cut the snowflakes from KS Build A Stocking (Christmas) Dies.
    • Assembled the card and added some KS Violet Pearl Mix.

Thank you so much for stopping by, please come back again soon!

Make a Shaker Card with Word Dies

Hi, everyone! This is Nicki of Nicki Hearts Cards here today with a fun shaker card. If you have been following my @Home expo talks, you know I have been dying to make a shaker card with this word die. So, let me take you through it.

Kat Scrappiness, merry christmas, card making, Nicki hearts cards

For all the details, make sure to check out the YouTube video on the Kat Scrappiness channel

First, let’s start with lots of fun Kat Scrappiness supplies. I will put links to all of these at the end of the post.

Kat Scrappiness, shaker mix, dies, card making, Nicki Hearts Cards

First, let’s use the slimline paper pad and cut the shadow of “Merry Christmas” out of the center. Next, we will adhere a mini slimline acetate piece which fits this opening perfectly.

Next, we will ink blend the card base so that when you look through the acetate window you will see a complimentary color.

Once this is finished, we need to use foam tape to build our shaker window. I used two layers to create more height because some of the shaker pieces are big enough that we needed some extra height.

Next, I add a generous amount of the shaker mix to the card base and carefully place the window over the pieces. Now, we need to work on the sentiment.

After die cutting this piece, I add 2 extra layers of thick white card stock to give it height and stability. Once the glue is dry, I will add these to the shaker window with double sided adhesive.

Last, let’s add some of the cute shaker pieces to the front of the card.

    Christmas Stocking Gift Card Holders

Happy Saturday Everyone! Priscilla here from Nubble  Light Designs. Today I am sharing two Christmas gift card holders I created that combine a Christmas stocking and a gift card holder in one. These would be perfect to add to a card, attach to a present, or actually insert into a real Christmas stocking.

I used 2 Kat Scrappiness products – the Happy Mail Mailbox dies and the Build a Stocking dies.

    Card Details:

    • Die cut the gift card holder bases out of white and black cardstocks.
    • Die cut the stockings backs out of white and black cardstocks and embossed them with a “bubble” embossing folder.
    • Die cut the stocking fronts out of 2 different buffalo check papers.
    • Assembled the gift card holders and the stockings.
    • Adhered the assembled stockings to the fronts of the card holders, making sure to NOT glue the top sections of the stockings.
    • Adhered the stocking openings and the snowflake and candy cane embellishments (all included in the Build a Stocking die set) to the fronts of the stockings.
    • Inserted the gift cards into the slots behind the stockings.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Don’t forget to check out what’s NEW in Kat’s Shop, and follow my blog, Instagram, and Facebook for more “Kat Scrappiness Amazingness”!

    Christmas Gnome Gift Card Holder

    Happy Friday Friends!

Sheri here today with a quick & easy Christmas Gift Card Holder idea!

I don’t know about you but I give a lot of gift cards during the holidays and am always looking for new ideas on how to dress them up a bit.  Here’s one idea using the Crafters Essentials 1 die set.

    Steps To Create:

    • Cut Red A2 Top Fold Card Base: 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ (5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side).
    • Cut White Inside Liner 5 1/4″ x 4″.
    • Cut Large Polka Dot Pattern Paper 5 1/4″ x 4″ from the Ugly Sweeter Paper Pad.
    • Cut 2 Stitched Rectangle using Crafters Essentials I die set (1 in red card stock & 1 in green polka dot pattern paper from the Ugly Sweeter Paper Pad).
    • Cut 1 Stitched Circle using Crafters Essentials 1 die set with red card stock.
    • Stamp Gnome from Christmas Gnome stamp set and color. I used copic markers and then cut out with the coordinating die set.
    • Assemble Gift Card Pocket: Cut green polka dot rectangle in half, apply 1/4″ Scor-tape around the two sides and bottom leaving the top open. Remove tape liners and stick to red rectangle to create pocket.
    • Stamp Merry Christmas from the Merry Critters stamp set in black ink.
    • Assemble card. I did use foam tape on the red stitched circle where its attached to the green pattern paper to allow the gift card to slip into the pocket.
    • For embellishment I added a little sparkle to Santa, Glossy Accents to the candy cane and few snowflakes from the Holiday Bliss Mix.

Here’s a list of the supplies I used from the store.
