Father’s Day is coming up soon and Kat has some great options for masculine cards in the shop including the new Happy Father’s Day word die. I love that this die is all one piece so you can easily pop it on the front of a card with some embellishments and have a quick and easy handmade greeting. Today, I did a little bit of layering with this die and I really like the way it turned out.
To start, I die cut the word die into some black card stock and trimmed the panel at an angle. I adhered a piece of white card stock behind the panel so my next die layer would have a shadow and a place to adhere.
Next, I adhered another layer of the Father’s Day die in black using my Zig 2-Way glue pen. I offset it a bit to create the shadow with the white.
I added yet another layer in white and offset that.
To complete the look, I popped back in the little piece of black that was cut out when I first die cut the panel. The Crystal Katana is helpful when working with these tiny parts.
I kept it simple by dry embossing a kraft colored card and adhering the entire word panel to the bottom corner with foam tape.
Here’s a close-up of the “triple-layering”. I added some Midnight Blue Nuvo Crystal drops around the sentiment for a little bit of simple embellishment.
