Hi there friends! Stephanie here. I’m back today with another fun Halloween card featuring some of my new favorite Kat Scrappiness goodies.
While creating this card I discovered a couple new items that I’m adding to my list of must haves. If you don’t already have them in your arsenal you’ll definitely want to get your hands on them!
First, this Merriest stamp set by Avery Elle is one of my new favorites! I adore the scripty lettering, and it also comes with tons of great add-on words that make it one of the most versatile sets. Not only does it have sentiments for the Christmas holidays, it also has really great sentiments for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, Birthdays, and others. It’s definitely one I’ll be using often.
Second, this BoBunny Glitter Paste was SO much fun to work with. It has the most amazing iridescent sparkle and dries clear. I experimented a bit by adding some distress ink to it, and was able to tint it while the glitter still showed through beautifully. On today’s card I applied the clear paste over top an ink blended background and the look of it changed depending on the color that was underneath it, which is a really fun effect. I can see myself using this a lot on so many different cards.
In the video below you can see how I used it on this Halloween card.
I started out by doing some ink blending on my background panel using Concord Grape and Black Soot Distress Inks. I then used the largest of the Stitched Rectangle Dies from Kat’s collection to create a nicely finished edge, and then used one of Kat’s Stitched Circle Dies in the upper right hand corner, which will become my moon.
Next, I spritzed the entire panel with this Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz, which adds a brilliant sparkle. Because you can never have too much glitter, I then used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Die (which also makes a lovely starry night sky) to cut out my own stencil, and applied the BoBunny Glitter Paste.
I heat embossed my sentiment from the Merriest stamp set using white embossing powder and popped it up on some foam tape for added dimension. After ink blending my moon using Mustard Seed and Wild Honey Distress Inks I added this adorable little Bat Die from Echo Park, which is stacked three layers thick and popped up on some foam tape. I finished off my card with some bakers twine and some sequins from the Boo-taclar Sequin Mix and this card is ready to send to a friend to say hello for Halloween.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card. I know I had a lot of fun making it. I’m excited to see how I can incorporate some of these products in my Christmas cards this holiday season. Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you next time!
