Hello, crafters! Cynthia here with my last blog post for the August 2018 Kat Scrappiness release. For this card, I chose to use the Stitched Scalloped Collage Die, the KS “Sea Coral” sequins mix, and an assortment of Doodlebug papers and images. This new collage die is just perfect for making shaker cards, so that is the style of card I chose to make. There is a detailed video link at the end of this post, so please be sure to watch as I work my way through the entire process.
I couldn’t resist using some die cut pieces from Doodlebug’s At The Zoo collection for my card project. I picked three animals that fit perfectly in the three sections of my collage die, and found three different papers from the coordinating paper pad. I used a fourth paper in polka dotted orange for the top of my shaker because it tied all of the elements together, and also tied in to the “Sea Coral” sequins mix. I was so excited when I realized they were a perfect color match! I will definitely be grabbing a few more bags of this mix with my next Kat Scrappiness order 🙂
I hope that you enjoyed this project, and that you will watch my video. I go into the details of assembling this card, and also how I made it into a shaker. If you haven’t yet made one yourself, this collage die might be the perfect way to start. You can use the entire piece as a shaker like I did, or isolate one or two sections for a partial shaker if you’d like. It also works beautifully on non-shaker cards as well 🙂 Please be sure to look at the August blog posts from the Design Team to see the different ways that the team has incorporated this die into their work. I think you’ll be inspired! I will see you all again next month with even more amazing new products – have an awesome day!
