Winter Diamond Wire & Wood Shaker Card

Hello crafty friends!! It’s Saturday!! Sammi here to show you a beautiful winter scene showcasing the Kat Scrappiness Crafters Essentials Winter Dies and the new 5×7 Diamond Wire & Wood die! I love shaker cards and I love the winter scene the Winter dies provide! Today’s card is very easy to make and here is how you can make this card!

    1. Cut out a piece of 110lb white card stock with the 5×7 Diamond Wire & Wood die. I use 110lb so it is sturdy since it will be a shaker card. I then took some silver ink/wax and lightly swept some silver in random places to add some pizazz.
    2. Cut out a piece of white card stock 5×7 and ink blend a blue background. I used Distress Inks for my background, and then I added some white splatter for a snowy effect. You can use Picket Fence Distress paint or any acrylic paint watered down a little.
    3. Using the Winter dies, cut out the trees with some silver metallic card stock, and some black metallic card stock. Then cut the deer out in the same black metallic card stock. Cut out the snow banks with white pearl or metallic card stock.
    4. Glue a piece of 5×7 acetate on the back side of the 5×7 Diamond Wire & Wood piece and then add some foam tape around the edges of the frame.
    5. Add the shaker pieces, which I used a combination of Winter Sky Sprinkles and Black Tie Affair Sprinkles. After the shaker pieces are on the blue sky card stock, place the Diamond Wire & Wood piece with the foam tape on top of the blue sky card piece sealing in the shaker pieces.
    6. Using Bearly Art glue, glue the black trees on the lower left corner of the card panel, then glue the silver trees a little to the right of the black trees to give a staggered look. Then glue the deer onto the card panel.
    7. For the sentiment, I used the Baby It’s Cold Outside from the Merry Critters stamp set and stamped it with Memento ink, then I cut it out with the new Boxed Sentiment Strips. I then glued it onto the upper right corner of the card panel.
    8. I then glued the card panel onto a 5×7 white card base made with 110lb card stock.
    9. The final touch is that I added some Silver Pearl Mix embellishments around the sentiment and the trees.

This was such a fun card to make!! I hope you enjoy this project as much as I do. I LOVE the Crafters Essential Winter dies to much! They are perfect to make beautiful winter scenes!

Quick and Easy Holiday Place Cards and Gift Tags

Hi friends!  I have 3 different projects to share with you today.  The details will all be in my video below!

My first project is a quick and easy project to create place cards for your holiday table.  This uses an easy die cutting trick which you can see in the video.

For this project, I simply do a partial die cut and fold the card where the die cut ended.

I have used the Kat Scrappiness Dress Up Quokkas and the Thanksgiving Costume Add-On Set.  I absolutely love making place cards for the holidays and I was delighted to see that there are so many add-ons that coordinate with the Dress Up Quokkas!  I love that there are other fall items in this Thanksgiving set to create scenes and use on projects like this!

I also made some fall holiday gift tags.  These use one of my favorite die sets:  Stitched Fancy Scalloped Rectangle dies.  There are 6 dies in this set and I used one of the smaller ones to create two tags.  I did some ink blending on the tags, added a punched hole and some twine, and I added some of the images that I colored and die cut from the Thanksgiving Costume Add-On set.

I will add a personal message on the tag when I attach it to the gift!

I also like to have a set of thank you note cards on hand for each holiday.  I used the Scallop Mini Slimline dies to create this project.  I also used a die cutting trick to cut this out and preserve the fold!  The cutting edge of the die along the fold should be above the fold so it doesn’t cut the paper.  You can see this in my video below.

I used the leaves stamp from the Thanksgiving stamp set and heat embossed them in white.  This allowed me to add some ink blending.

The new Thanks word and shadow die made the perfect sentiment for my note card!  I used a nice orange piece of scrap card stock for the shadow and die cut the script word in a nice bright white!  I love the fancy scalloped edge and the stitching on these dies!

You can see all the details in my video:

The place cards and gift tags are a perfect project to have on hand for your little ones.  You can do the stamping and die cutting and then let your kids color them in while you are busy with what you have to do.  My kids always enjoyed creating things to decorate the table for the holidays so I always made sure I had a plan for a project they could help with.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a fantastic day!

    “Happy Holidays” 5 x 7 Card

Happy Friday Everyone! Priscilla here from Nubble  Light Designs. Today I am sharing yet another 5 x 7 card. I think I’ve become obsessed with these larger cards!!! Today’s card features a snowy holiday feel and showcases a beautiful 5 x 7 foliage frame. And for an unexpected addition to the color scheme, I strategically turned up the leaves of this frame just a tad to reveal an underlying bright red pop of color.

I used the newly released  Kat Scrappiness 5 x 7 Foliage Frame Die, along with the new “Happy Holidays” Word Die with Shadow. Note that this 5 x 7 Foliage Frame Die is also available in A2 and Slimline sizes.

    Card Details:

    • Created an A7 white card base (10″ x 7″, scored at 5″) to make a side folding 5 x 7 card.
    • Adhered a layer of bright red cardstock onto the 5 x 7 card base.
    • Die cut the Foliage Frame and sponged 3 Distress Oxide inks to color it: “Evergreen Bough,” “Chipped Sapphire,” and “Black Soot.”
    • Sprinkled white acrylic paint over the whole die cut to create the feel of snow.
    • Adhered the finished Foliage Frame over the red cardstock layer and popped up the leaves just slightly to reveal a hint of the red below.
    • Die cut “Happy Holidays” from the same red cardstock and layered it 3 times for added dimension.
    • Used a white gel pen to add a touch of “snow” on the tops of the letters before adhering the sentiment to a vellum die cut shadow.
    • Adhered the sentiment/shadow to the center of the card.
    • Dotted the “i” in “Holidays” with a white Chilly Willy Sprinkle and sprinkled some more around the card front for a finishing touch.

    Happy Quokka Christmas Shaker

I am not ready for the holidays yet! The store shelves are lined with Christmas items. I haven’t even finished my Halloween cards. (Don’t even mention Thanksgiving!) Do you have your Christmas cards done? Today’s featured card uses Kat Scrappiness products. I will be making a Christmas Shaker Card. Check out my post on the Kat Scrappiness Blog today. It features the Ugly Sweater Paper pack, Quokka stamp and dies, Reverse Scallop Dies, 5 x 7 Never Ending Rectangle dies, Ugly Sweater add-on stamps, and dies. I will provide links to products at the end of this post. Card-making commencing now.

    card details

    1. First, I cut, scored and folded my base. I am making a 5 x 7 card. You can use and size base, just adjust the size of of shaker card element.
    2. Next, pick a holiday sentiment. I used Happy Chrismas in red and green. Here, I used the Happy Day set.
    3. In this step, cut the Ugly Sweater paper(polka dot) with one of the Never Ending Rectangles.
    4. Next I cut 5 Reverse Scallop dies. Mine measure 2.5 x 4.875.
    5. In the next step, glue together 4 scallop pieces.
    6. Next, glue down the acetate to the back of the fifth panel only. You can trim the extra acetate from the sides.
    7. After this, I glued acetate and allowed it to dry. Adhere the additional 4 to the back.
    8. In the next step, add sequins to the back of the frame.
    9. Now, carefully add glue around the backside of the frames. Add your Ugly Sweater panel. If it is a bit big you can allow it to dry and trim it.
    1. Now, stamp, color and cut the cute little sweater and hat for the Quokka.
    2. It is now time for the Quokka, stamp, color and cut the image.
    3. Next, I glued the hat and sweater to the Quokka.
    4. For some bling, apply glitter gel to the puff on his cap and the polar bears hat.
    5. Next, I applied the scalloped frame to the polka dot panel.
    6. Add your Christmas Quokka to bottom corner.
    7. Now add foam tape to the back of the polka dot panel. Glue this to the 5 x 7 card base.

Happy Holidays Mini Slimline Flat Shaker card

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. I have a super fun and easy Mini Slimline Flat Shaker card to share with you using the Dress Up Quokka Stamp/Dies, Christmas Costume Add-On Stamp/Dies, Happy Holidays W/Shadow die, Elegant Borders die, and the Holiday Bliss Sequin Mix from Kat Scrappiness. Below you will find the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 7″ x 6″, score at 3 1/2″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim White Cardstock to 3 1/2″ x 6″. Apply any ink of your preference using a Blender Brush. I used 3 shades of Teal Blue starting with the lightest in the center and working out towards to edges with the darkest. Let dry.

Step 3 – Place on top of the inked panel created in step 2 a trimmed cellophane measuring 4 1/2″ x 7″. Turn over the panel and cellophane and adhere Double Sided Adhesive Tape to the backside edges.  Remove the release sheet from 3 sides and secure the cellophane. Add Holiday Bliss Sequin Mix to the front. Remove the last piece of the tape and secure. Be sure to remove the excess cellophane at each corner. Adhere the entire shaker to the card front using Bearly Art Precision Glue. A tip: Make sure not to adhere the cellophane too tightly otherwise your sequins won’t move.

Step 4 – Stamp Dress Up Quokka and Christmas Costume Add-On using Gina K Amalgam Ink on White Cardstock. Color in using Alcohol Markers of your choice. I used TriBlends from Spectrum Noir. Diecut the images with matching dies and adhere to card front using Bearly Art Precision Glue.

Step 5 – Diecut Happy Holidays W/Shadow (words only) using White Cardstock. Adhere to card using Bearly Art Precision Glue.

Step 6 – To ground the images Diecut Elegant Borders using Red Cardstock. Adhere to card using Bearly Art Precision Glue.

Flat shaker cards have become my new love and they are easier to mail since they are bulky like the traditional shaker cards. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
