    Rainbow Bridge Sympathy

    Hi Friends!! Nora here with a simple card using some of the products from this weekend’s Kat Scrappiness Pawsome Release. I combined the new Rainbow Bridge Stamp Set and Pawprint 6×6 Stencil with some previously released products to create my card.

    Card Details:

    • On a 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ blue cardstock background, use the Pawprint 6X6 Stencil to stencil the prints in blue.
    • Adhere the blue background onto a white, A2, top folding card.
    • Using the Kat Scrappiness Never Ending Circle Dies, die cut a circle out of white cardstock. Spread glitter paste and the Kat Scrappiness Falling Stars 6×6 Stencil over the top.

    • When the glitter paste is dry, use foam adhesive to adhere to the card front.
    • Stamp the sentiment and the dog silhouette from the NEW Rainbow Bridge Sentiment Stamps with blue ink on white cardstock.
    • Adhere the silhouette over the circle with foam adhesive. Adhere the sentiment under the circle with the same adhesive.
    • The last step is to randomly adhere White Diamond Sequin Mix around the card.

    Enjoy the Waves – “Mixed Media” Summer Card

    Happy Friday Crafty Friends! Priscilla here from the Kat Scrappiness Design Team. As we coast into Labor Day Weekend, I am sharing a “last hurrah to summer” mixed-media card, complete with floral patterned flip-flops, a REAL sandy beach, and 3-D waves crashing into the shore. Indeed life’s a beach . . . life is good.

    To make today’s card, I used the Kat Scrappiness Summer Fun Essentials die collection and a sentiment from the the Summer Gnome Add-On Stamp Set.

    Card Details:

    • Created an A2 top-folding white card base.
    • On a die cut layer of watercolor cardstock, I painted the “ocean” with “Uncharted Mariner” Distress Paint
    • To create the “beach,” I mixed real sand with “Vintage Photo” Distress Paint and applied a thick coating of this mixture on the bottom portion of the card.

    • Die cut a pair of flip-flops using the Summer Fun Essentials die collection out of floral paper and backed them with two layers of brown cardstock for added dimension.
    • To create the crashing waves, I painted white “puffy paint” along the shore and heated it with with a blow dryer to create some added dimension.
    • Heat embossed the sentiment “Life’s a Beach, Enjoy the Waves” from the Summer Gnome Add-On Stamp Setwith navy embossing powder and added it to the top of the card.
    • Adhered three star fish embellishments for the finishing touch.

    Happy Day Mini Slimline Card

    Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. If you have ever been in a creative slump or looked at your supplies and don’t know where to begin, then here is a helpful tip when you feel overwhelmed. Simply create backgrounds for future cards. Creating backgrounds is very therapeutic. I like to make a batch of them and once in a while I flip through them until one of them gives me an idea. I usually add an image or diecut along with a sentiment and your done. Below you will find the steps to create your own card.

    Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 7″ x 6″, score at 3 1/2″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Mini Slimline)

    Step 2 – Trim White Cardstock to 6″ x 6″. Place the Floatings Dots Stencil on top and apply ink of your choice using a Blender Brush in rainbow order.

    Step 3 – Diecut Mini Slimline Stitched Rope using the background create from Step 2. Adhere to card using Bearly Art Precision Glue.

    Step 4 – Diecut Summer Fun Essentials (Beach Ball) using White Cardstock. Color it using any medium of your choice. I used Copics using the same rainbow colors as my background. Adhere to card using Foam Tape.

    Step 5 – Diecut Happy Father’s Day using Black Cardstock. The sentiment is attached for the words Happy and Day (disgard Father’s) and adhere to card front using Bearly Art Precision Glue.

    Be sure to create some backgrounds for those creative slumps. This is also helpful when you need to make a last minute card. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
