    Cheat Day Shaker Card

    Good morning Kat Scrappiness fans!

It’s Lisa here with today and

and I have a fun circle shaker card to share

with you!  There are some super fun new Sprinkle confetti mixes in the store

now and they inspired this card.

They should probably come with a warning label that says:

    DO NOT EAT!!!

Seriously though, they look exactly like the sprinkles you would

order in your favorite ice cream store!

For my card I cut 2 circles out of patterned paper using the Double Stitched Circle Dies.

I cut a window out of one of them using the same dies. I backed the

window with acetate and framed the circle opening with foam tape.

After I made my well to add my shaker bits I added lots and lots and lots of Birthday Cake Sprinkles Embellishment Mix and

Fairy Dust Confetti Sequins.  The two complimented each other so well!

For the front of the card I colored some ice cream and donut images from the

Punny Snacks Stamp Set and I added a sentiment from

the Cheat Day Stamp Set !

Such a fun card to make!

Make sure you check out all of the new sequins in the shop right now,

there is Chocolate Cake Sprinkles as well!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

I hope you enjoyed my shaker card today and if you’d like to purchase any of the products I used on this card, you can use code Lisa10 to save 10% on your purchase!

Have a great day everyone, I already am!

    Foliage Frame Cards

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I am excited to share with you 2 cards using the new Foliage Frame Die which I designed. I wanted to thank Kat for having faith in my design. Below you will finds the steps used to create these cards.

    Card #1

    Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Lightly spray the cardstock, as this will prevent cracks when you emboss. Dry Emboss Foliage Frame using the slightly sprayed cardstock through your diecutting machine. Diecut Double Stitched Rectangles for the edge and another for a window.

Step 3 – Trim Acetate slightly larger than the window and adhere to the inside of panel using double sided adhesive glue. Apply foam tape around the window (2 layers). Add Fluffy Clouds Sequins Mix inside the window. Seal it with a slightly larger background panel using patterned paper or a DIY background. I created the background using Distress Oxide Inks Faded Jeans and Broken China by applying the inks on a craft mat. I sprayed it with water and dipped the cardstock, heat set it and repeated until I was happy with the design. Adhere the entire panel to the front of the card.

Step 4 – Diecut word sentiment using White Cardstock. Add versamark directly on the sentiment and sprinkle Brutus Monroe Mermaid Tail. Heat set it with a heat tool. Repeat this step 2 more times. Adhere to card using collage medium.

    Card #2

    Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Lightly spray the cardstock, as this will prevent cracks when you emboss. Dry Emboss Foliage Frame using the slightly sprayed cardstock through your diecutting machine. Apply Distress Oxide Ink using an ink applicator. I used Squeezed Lemonade for the edge and worked in Tumbled Glass to the center. For added interest and sparkle I sprayed Shimmer Spritz. Let dry.

Step 3 – Create a background on scrap piece of White Cardstock. I applied Distress Oxide Inks Faded Jeans, Broken China and Cracked Pistachio on a craft mat. I sprayed it with water. I dipped the cardstock into the ink and heat set. I repeated this step until I was happy with the background.

Step 4 – Diecut Double Stitched Ovals using the background created from Step 3. Stamp sentiment using Versamark towards the bottom of the diecut background. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder. Heat set it with a heat tool. Adhere the panel to the front of the card using foam tape.

Step 5 – Diecut Flitter Side Butterfly using White Cardstock to the Detail die and Patterned Paper or DIY background to the Solid die. Assemble the butterfly using collage medium and adhere to card.

Step 6 – For added interest and sparkle adhere Teal and Dark Blue Jewels using a Crystal Katana and adhering it with collage medium.

These cards can be used for any occasion by changing the colors, diecut images and sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. To receive 10% off your next order use code: TINA10 at checkout. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

    “Hoppy Holidays” Card

Hello, crafters!  This is Cynthia for the KS Design Team, and today I’m bringing you a fun layered card project featuring some adorable little animals.  I used the Crafters Essentials WINTER Dies, the Merry Critters Stamp Set, and embellished with the “Frozen II” Sequins Mix.  All of these products and much more are available now at the Kat Scrappiness website, so be sure to pick them up for your own holiday card making.  In the meantime, let’s go through the steps I used to create this card.

My first step was creating a wintery background for my scene.  I cut a piece of light blue card stock with the swirled backdrop die from the Crafters Essentials WINTER die set, then cut the two stitched snow drift pieces out of white card stock.  I attached one of the drifts flat to the background panel, and the second drift was raised on a single layer of foam tape.  One important note:  leave the top edges of your drifts free of adhesive so that you can tuck in your embellishments when it comes time to assemble your final scene!

To create the look of falling snow, I simply used the Nuvo Embossing Pen and randomly dotted it all over the blue panel.  Then I sprinkled on some Hero Arts White embossing powder and heat set it.  This is such a simple way to really give your winter scenes some life 🙂

Now it’s time for some good ol’ stamping and coloring.  The images from the Merry Critters stamp set are just precious, and perfectly sized for any card you’d like to make.  I stamped multiple trees on some smooth white card stock, then colored them in with my Copic markers.  I always use Memento Tuxedo Black ink for my stamping, since I know it won’t smudge when I used alcohol based markers.  If you’re not sure of an ink, always stamp a sample image on some scrap card stock and try your alcohol markers with them.  It’s so much better to take them time to do this step instead of accidentally ruining a project!

To add even more detail, I decided to use my Snow Pen and embossing gun to create snow on my little trees.  There are plenty of products you can use for a similar look:  white embossing powder, sparkle embossing powder, texture paste, etc.  Get creative!

My two main focal images are the bunny and the sleigh full of presents, both from the Merry Critters stamp set.  I also stamped the adorable little bird perched on top of the presents so that the bunny would have a friend.  We all need a good friend, right?  I colored them with my Copics, then carefully cut them out along the black lines.  When doing this, try to preserve your stamped edges instead of cutting them off.  You can always run a black marker around the edges of your cut pieces to hide the white cutting lines when you’re done, which really gives a professional finish to your work.  Note:  Instead of cutting around the sleigh’s delicate runners, I stamped that part of the image right on the snow drift piece, then laid the cut-out image over it.

For my sentiment, I cut out a stitched banner die and used the Hoppy Holidays stamp from the Merry Critters stamp set.  It fit very neatly in the bottom corner of my scene – big enough not to be missed, but discreet enough to let the scene shine 🙂

The final finishing touch was to add some sequins (of course!)  This time I used the gorgeous “Frozen II” Sequins Mix and picked out some snowflakes, some light blue sequins, and some tiny sparkling crystal sequins.  I laid these along the swirled lines of the backdrop piece, as if they were sparkling bits of snow being blown along the frosty wind.  Perfect!

And that is my finished card!  This one was SO much fun to create, and if I were making a scrapbook layout I could have included a bunch more trees and all of the cute animals.  As I mentioned at the top of this post, all of these awesome stamps, dies, and sequins are now available in the Kat Scrappiness store.  I’ve included a shopping link for you down below, and please be sure to use my “CYNTHIA10” coupon code to save 10% off your entire order.  Thank you so much for reading my post, and I’ll see all of you again at the end of the month 🙂

It’s Beginning to Look a Sloth Like Christmas

Hello my crafty friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!  I meant to post on November 23rd but due to my current move and travel schedule, I was not able to organize the post so I apologize for that.  Before I begin, I wanted to let you all know that Cyber Monday is 25% off!  Please use coupon code “MONDAY25”  Hurry and order your favorites before they are gone!

It’s Maria here with you today I am back with this cute Christmas card, showcasing the Foliage Frame Die, the Slothy Christmas stamp set and matching die by Newton’s Nook and other products available at the shop.

I started by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.  I also die-cut another piece of Neenah solar white card stock using the Foliage Frame die set.  This die is so beautiful!

I cut an A2-size piece of Bristol smooth white card stock and inked up this background with some Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar distress oxide inks, using my mini-ink blending tool.  I put a few drops of my Vintage Photo distress re-inker onto an acrylic block and added a few drops of water then used my watercolor brush to splatter some color onto my colored background.  I adhered this piece onto my card base.

I added some foam adhesive on the frame to give it a little bit of a dimension.  To finish my design, I adhered my colored images onto the card and covered the Santa hat with some stardust stickles.  Here’s a little close-up:

Don’t you just LOVE this new Foliage Frame die?  Also the sloth is so cute with that little mouse!  I really love how this card turned out.

I hope you like my Christmas card today.  Please visit Kat Scrappiness today to order all of the supplies I used.  They are listed and linked below. Don’t forget to take advantage of the Cyber Monday sale using coupon code “MONDAY25” for 25% off your order!

Merry Christmas Card using Kat Scrappiness dies

Hi everyone!  Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Today, I have a simple Christmas card using four different dies from Kat Scrappiness, paper, and distress oxide inks.  I die cut the Stitched Winter Swirl Backdrop die out of white card stock.  I then blended Broken China and Faded Jeans distress inks onto the die cut piece.  I used one of the stitched rectangle dies to cut out a portion of the Stitched Winter Swirl backdrop die.  I die cut the Merry Christmas sentiment three times – once from glitter white card stock and two from white card stock – and stacked them together.  I die cut the snowflake from the Snowflake Kisses dies from glitter white card stock.  I then adhered everything to a white card base.
