    Cheerful Holiday Wishes Card

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I am sharing how I created a Snowman Shaker Card using the Never Ending Circles Dies with the new A Cozy Christmas Slimline Paper. Below you will find the steps to create your own Cheerful Holiday Wishes Card.

    Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Diecut Never Ending Circles using A Cozy Christmas Paper Pad (3 dies sizes – start with the smallest circle but skip the next die so that you will be able to create a circle border for the top of card). Each circle die will have to be diecut separately. See photo below for visual.

Step 3 – Adhere a piece of acetate to the backside of the panel created from Step 2. Add Foam Tape to the backside excluding the window area. Add Chilly Willy Sprinkles on top of the card front making sure they are inside of the window area. Remove the release sheet from the Foam Tape and adhere to the card front sealing the sprinkles inside.

Step 4 – Stamp sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink on Light Blue Cardstock. Trim out the sentiments and adhere to card front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. (I originally intended to adhere the sentiments to the bottom of the snowman but a couple of my sprinkles locked on the side and in order to fix it I had to scratch my acetate window. Instead of starting over I used the sentiment to cover this). Easy fix!

This card can be used for several occasions by changing the sentiment. Christmas sentiment for a holiday card, Winter sentiment for a winter card and Birthday sentiment for those birthdays during the winter season. Below is a link to all the products used. Clean and Simple Calming Cards

Welcome to the Kat Scrappiness blog, take a deep breath and relax!

It’s Lisa here with you today from Oh So Cute By Lisa!

2020 has been a stressful year and the past few days of this crazy election hasn’t made it any easier.  No matter which side of the political fence you are on, the stress is running high!
The ugliness in the world only seems to be getting worse and it is so scary!

As card makers we tend to craft away the stress and it can be very calming to immerse yourself in making art and pretty things! Today is my day on the Kat Scrappiness blog and I knew I wanted a pair of clean and simple cards to deliver a calming message. It felt so good to sit at my desk and use minimal supplies and some of my prettiest pattern paper to make 2 cards to share today.

I don’t know who needs to hear this today but keep taking deep breaths and surround yourself with people who bring you peace! My 2 cards today are centered on the words PEACE and BREATHE.

I created these 2 cards using minimal supplies but I think they came out so pretty!

I started by taking some of my favorite floral patterned paper from my stash.  I’ve had this paper forever and it is my go to when I want some pretty dainty florals. I cut out all the letters for both cards using the Condensed Lowercase Alphabet Dies  by Kat Scrappiness and put them aside. Next I took some beautiful linen paper and cut out 2 panels using the largest die from the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die set.

I wanted to place the letters down evenly so I used my Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART Stay-tion to line them up. I laid out my letters evenly and placed a thin piece of purple tape over them that extended beyond the letters. I took the strip of letters still on the tape and flipped them over to apply my Nuvo adhesive to the back side of the letters. Having them on the tape made it easier to lay them down on the card panel. Once I laid them down I carefully peeled off the purple tape and pressed the letters down one by one allowing the glue to seep in.

After I adhered both panels to a soft pink piece of card stock the only thing left to do was add some sparkly Pretty Pink Jewels around the letters.

When I apply my jewels and embellishments I like to use the Kat Scrappiness Jewel Picker tool and a Triangle Sorting Tray. It makes the application and clean up so much easier. I pour my embellishments into a sorting tray and pick them up with the jewel picker and place them on a small dot of glue on my card. The process is super easy and very efficient.  After I’m done the triangle tray makes it so easy to pour the jewels back into their bag.

There is even a Kat Scrappiness Mini Pink Funnel Tray to keep your embellishments confined and make it easy for you to funnel them back into whatever is holding them.

Kat has also just released a brand new item that is a MUST HAVE for anyone with multiple packs of sequins and embellishments. It is called the Embellishment Organizer Solution and it is FABULOUS! This awesome case has 64 individual containers to hold all of your beads, sequins, jewels and other such embellishments. It also comes with 196 label stickers so you can remember the names of all of your pretty embellishments.

Here is one more look at my cards with all of the products I used.
You really don’t need a lot of supplies to make beautiful cards!

Thank you so much for joining me today, I hope I brought a little PEACE into your life and encouraged you to BREATHE deeply and go make some pretty art!
Stay tuned to all things Kat Scrappiness because the new release is coming out November 7th and 8th, just a couple of days away and you don’t want to miss it! There will be lots of holiday themed Dies and brand new Sprinkles!

    Christmas Ornament

    Hello Peeps!

I could not wait to share this idea with you today. I decided to make a gift tag using the Kat Scrappiness shaker kit. This way the recipient gets a cute gift tag that later becomes a tree ornament for the following years.

I started with the Christmas tree ornament kit. I painted the outer edge with white craft paint. Next I painted the tree green. I cut out a circle from the Kat Scrappiness Cozy Christmas slim line paper.. I chose the blue with white snowflakes but any of the gorgeous patterns would look great. I glued the dimensional foam ring to the paper. Next I added several of the Christmas sprinkles designs to fill the shaker. Glued the Clear plastic onto the base then glued the wooden ornament on to enclose the sprinkles.

I cut a small tag and piece of cord to add to the “tag” I made so, it could be attached to a package. I believe anyone would love getting a gift with a gift.

I think all of the shaker kits would make great tags. Depending on the  kit, you can create your own gift tags for all occasions.

    Supplies:

KS- A Cozy Christmas slim line paper

    KS- Christmas Tree Shaker kit

    KS- Santa Baby Sprinkles

    KS- Snowflake Sprinkles

    KS- Christmas Candy Sprinkles

    Merry Christmas Slimline Cards

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I am sharing two cards using the Fancy Scalloped Slimline Dies with the Stitched & Layered Snowman dies. One is using a DIY Background and the other using the new A Cozy Christmas Patterned Paper. Below are the steps to create your own cards.

    Card #1

Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 7”, score at 3 1/2” and fold in half for a horizontal side fold card (Slimline)

Step 2 – Diecut Fancy Scalloped Nesting Slimline using White Cardstock. Adhere to card front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 3 – Trim White Cardstock to 3 1/2” x 8 1/2”. Apply Distress Oxide Ink using a Blender Blush. Starting from the bottom going up apply Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord and Black Soot. Mix Perfect Pearls Perfect Gold with a little water and spatter the background using a Paintbrush. Let dry. Diecut Never Ending Slimline using the background created. Adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 4 – Diecut Stitched & Layered Snowman using White Cardstock for the body and eye and coloured Cardstock for the accessories. Assemble and adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 5 – Diecut Merry Christmas With Shadow (only word Merry) using Gold Metallic Cardstock. I cut several of the letters to be able to place it on my card front. Adhere with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 6 – Stamp sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink using White Cardstock. Trim the sentiment and adhere over the word Merry using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 7 – For added interest and sparkle randomly adhere Fall Blessings Sequins Mix using an Embellishment Pick Up Tool and Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

    Card #2

Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 7”, score at 3 1/2” and fold in half for a horizontal side fold card (Slimline)

Step 2 – Diecut Fancy Scalloped Nesting Slimline using A Cozy Christmas Paper Pad. (I used 2 designs and trimmed one diagonally.) Adhere to card front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. Trim Red Glitter Cardstock into 1/8” strip and adhere between the 2 patterned paper.

Step 3 – Diecut Stitched & Layered Snowman using various colours of Cardstock. Assemble and adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Both of these cards were pretty quick to put together but I wanted to show you the difference using the patterned paper and a Do It Yourself Background. Below you will find the link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
