Stitched Hearts and Watercolor!
Happy Saturday crafty friends!!! Sammi here to show you a fun card for Valentine’s Day using the NEW Stitched Hearts Coverplate Die from the new Valentine’s Day release. If you have not checked out the new release, you are missing out! It is AMAZING! To make this card, here is what I did:
1. I cut out the background using the Stitched Hearts Coverplate die on some watercolor paper. Then using some Distress ink, I watercolored the watercolor paper with ink and water using a water brush. I stamped some ink on my glass media mat and used the water in my water brush to color the paper. I then added some white splatter.
2. I then cut out the heart using one of the hearts from the Hearts of Love Shaker dies and 110lb Neenah cardstock three times and glued them on top of each other to add dimension. I then added some Glossy Accents to make the heart shiny.
3. I then cut out the sentiment strip using the Kat Scrappiness Sentiment Strip dies and heat embossed the Happy Valentine’s Day from the Quokka Valentines Stamp Set with white embossing powder after I inked the sentiment strip with some Distress Ink.
4. I then glued the white heart onto the card panel using Bearly Art Glue and then glued the sentiment on top of the white heart.
5. After adding some Frosted Grape Pearl Mix embellishments, I glued the card panel onto a card base.
I like non-traditional colors for a Valentine’s Day card and I like how this one turned out. I LOVE this color combo so much! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

A Valentine’s Day Card
Hello my fellow crafters.

Nora here with a Valentine’s Day card that features some of the NEW product from Kat Scrappiness. I combined stamps, die cuts and sprinkles to create my fun shaker card. I especially like the new Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Foliage Frame Die. I used it here with some heart “flowers” that I die cut using the smallest heart die from KS Heart Donut Builder Dies.

Here is how I created this card:
- Cut the white, Mini Slimline card base into a 6″ by 7″ piece. Using the Kat Scrappiness Teflon Bone Folder, score core at 3 1/2″ so that your card is 6″ by 3 1/2″
- I used the outline heart from the Say it With Hearts stamp set to stamp read hearts over the front of the white card base.
- With the Mini Slimline Foliage Frame Die, die cut the leaves out of white cardstock. Ink blend the entire die cut with two shades of green ink. On the back of the foliage frame, adhere a Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Acetate Sheet.
- While the acetate is drying, use the smallest heart die from the Heart Donut Builder Dies to die cut 25 hearts from red cardstock.
- Line the dried frame with foam adhesive. Add sixteen of the red paper hearts and some Kat Scrappiness Kisses Sprinkles in the middle of the white card base. Adhere the Mini Slimline Foliage Frame over the top of the card base to create your shaker.
- Using a piece of the red pattern paper from the new Spectrum of Love Slimline Paper Pack, die cut the sentiment out with the new Kat Scrappiness You Complete Me w/Shadow die three times. Adhere each of these three sentiments together. Then glue them to the front of the card, as shown.
- Adhere the remaining hearts to the card front using foam adhesive.
- To finish off the card, add some sparkle to the hearts and the sentiment with a Spectrum Clear Sparkle Marker.

Using Dies as a Stencil
Hello my friends!! Nora here from A Creative Touch with a last minute holiday card using a die as a stencil.

I was watching the Christmas movie “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and I had an idea for a card. I wanted to make a grouping of trees, outdoors, with one of them all decorated. The tree from the Quokka Christmas Costume Add Ons was going to be center stage.

Card Details:
- Using the Kat Scrappiness Crafters Essential WINTER Dies and white cardstock, die cut a background panel using the large snowflake die and one of the hills.
- Next, use the same background die and keep it over the die cut panel you cut. Use Salvaged Patina Distress Ink and a Kat Scrappiness Mini Blending Brush to stencil the snowflakes from the die onto the white card panel.
- Adhere the background and the hill to an A2 piece of white cardstock
- Die cut the trio of trees from green cardstock using Crafters Essentials WINTER Dies. Adhere the trees to the card front on the right.
- Stamp the tree from the Quokka Christmas Costume Add Ons stamps onto white cardstock. Color in using Copic Markers. Die cut with the coordinating die. To give this tree some dimension, adhere it to the card front using foam adhesive. Decorate the tree using the Kat Scrappiness Christmas Funfetti Sprinkle Mix. This mix has some really fun clay images to use as tiny ornaments.
- Cut out a sentiment from black paper using the Happy Holidays Word Die w/Shadow. Adhere “Happy Holidays” to the card front. Cover the front of the word with a clear sparkle marker and Glossy Accents.
- Decorate the card front using some snowflakes from the Christmas Fun Fetti Sprinkle Mix, glue and glitter to create a “snow” effect.

Happy New Year!
Happy Sunday Everyone! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. Today I am sharing a “New Year’s” card with all the necessary elements of the holiday – confetti, party hats, and champagne!

I used the Newton’s Nook Newton’s New Year Stamp & Die Combo, and the Kat Scrappiness “Happy New Year” Brush Script Word & Sentiment Die.

Card Details:
- Created a white A2 card base and adhered a hot pink smaller layer over it.
- Used gold embossing paste and a “confetti” stencil over black cardstock to create a background.
- Colored and die cut Newton the Cat popping a bottle of champagne and adhered to the front of the card.
- Die cut the “Happy New Year” Brush Script Word & Sentiment Die 3 times– twice out of black cardstock, and one time out of gold glimmer cardstock and stacked them for a 3D effect, before adhering it to the front of the card.
- For a finishing touch, I added a champagne bottle and two glasses from the Kat Scrappiness Cheers Gold Sequin Mix in the bottom corner of the card.

Tis the Season-of Love!
Good Morning! Kathy from Expressive Paper here. Ok, I know we still haven’t finished the holiday season. However, I am sure you have mailed all of your cards. So I thought, “Why not get started on Valentine’s Day cards?” So let’s make a card!

Card Details
- Cut and score a piece of white card stock. This is an A2 sized card. I used Neenah Solar White 110lb card stock. Use the new Teflon Bone Folder from Kat Scrappiness to make perfect folds.
- Using the Never Ending Rectangle dies select two rectangles one for your main panel and another for the black background panel. Die cut those panels.
- Now, using the Hearts of Love Shaker Card Dies we are going to dry emboss three hearts onto your white panel. Follow the instructions for your machine for dry embossing.
- Glue the embossed panel to the black background. I use the Gina K Connect glue.
- Using a scrap piece of red card stock and use the large intricate die and cut out this heart.
- Because I am doing an inlaid die technique I found some Memory Box Glitter Paper and shiny metallic red scraps and cut some of the larger hearts out from this die. Keep all the inner bits as you will inlay them back into the intricate heart.
- Trace the outside of the red heart onto some Scor-Tape double sided adhesive and onto a piece of white card. Cut them slightly smaller than the intricate heart.
- Remove the top adhesive backer and adhere to the intricate heart.
- Remove the back sheet of the adhesive and then adhere all of this to the white solid heart. This will leave exposed adhesive in the open areas of your intricate heart.
- Now inlay your bits and pieces.
- Using the Everyday Brush Stroke stamp set, use the I Love You sentiment.
- Using the new Telescopic Embossing Powder Tool, I applied powder to the black card stock. I then stamped the sentiment with white ink. Then I sprinkled with white embossing powder and used my heat tool to emboss the sentiment.
- Using the smallest rectangle from the Never Ending Dies I cut out the sentiment and trimmed it down. I cut extra black strips with this die and adhered it to the sentiment. This was glued to the heart.
- Foam tape was added to the main black/white panel and to the heart. Both were adhered to the main panel.
- I then added the Round Silver Confetti for a little shine.

Christmas Stocking Gift Card Holders
Happy Saturday Everyone! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. Today I am sharing two Christmas gift card holders I created that combine a Christmas stocking and a gift card holder in one. These would be perfect to add to a card, attach to a present, or actually insert into a real Christmas stocking.

I used 2 Kat Scrappiness products – the Happy Mail Mailbox dies and the Build a Stocking dies.

Card Details:
- Die cut the gift card holder bases out of white and black cardstocks.
- Die cut the stockings backs out of white and black cardstocks and embossed them with a “bubble” embossing folder.
- Die cut the stocking fronts out of 2 different buffalo check papers.
- Assembled the gift card holders and the stockings.
- Adhered the assembled stockings to the fronts of the card holders, making sure to NOT glue the top sections of the stockings.
- Adhered the stocking openings and the snowflake and candy cane embellishments (all included in the Build a Stocking die set) to the fronts of the stockings.
- Inserted the gift cards into the slots behind the stockings.

Festive Boxed Sentiment Strip Thanks
Hello everyone!! Nora here on the blog today with a festive, mini-slimline thanks card. I used the Boxed Sentiment Strips to die cut strips out of the Ugly Sweater Slimline Paper and matching cardstock scraps from my stash!!

Here are the steps I used to create my card:
- I used the largest die from the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Embossed Edge rectangle die set to die cut a piece of white cardstock as a guide for my paper strips.
- Next I die cut various sized paper strips from the Ugly Sweater Slimline Paper and cardstock scraps using the Kat Scrappiness Boxed Sentiment Strips. I love combining strips of pattern paper and plain cardstock pieces. It gives a card such visual interest.
- I adhered my strips over the front of my mini slimline base in a diagonal and cut the edges off to create a rectangle card front.
- I used Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue to adhere the striped card front to a green, mini slimline card base.
- I then cut out a black cardstock frame with the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Reverse Scallop w/Hello die. I adhered this to the middle of my striped panel.
- I die cut my sentiment out of two different patterns of Ugly Sweater Slimline paper and then two out of white cardstock with the Thanks Sentiment w/Shadow Die. I adhered the white thanks together with the red pattern paper. While that was drying, I glued the second pattern paper sentiment down in the middle of the black frame. I adhered my stacked sentiment over this, off setting it so that the darker “thanks” looks like a shadow.
- My last step was to randomly attach some sequins from the Kat Scrappiness Glistening Tinsel Sequin Mix.

Happy Quokka Holiday Card

Good morning card friends! The holidays are around the corner and I am up on the Kat Scrappiness blog with some card inspiration for you. What could be more fun than a shaker card? All products will be listed at the end of the post. Let’s make a card!

Card measurements
- Card base – 4″ x 6.5″
- Patterned Paper – 3.75″ x 6.25″
- Green card stock – 2.5″ x 6.5″

So when the sequins fall to the bottom of the shaker there are still a few up above.

Now center your Reversed Scalloped frame and glue it down. Set something heavy on top and allow it to dry.

Stamp your Quokkas, the Christmas tree, and any of the other stamps you want to use in your scene. I use alcohol markers.

I added some glitter glue to some areas, like the star on the tree, the Quokka’s cap, the bows.

I added nylon string to the back of the Christmas tree with washi tape so it jiggles a tiny bit when shaken. Make sure to measure where you want your tree to sit INSIDE the shaker. Then you will add a tiny bit of double-sided tape to the middle of the frame top and bottom. Place your thread down. Make sure you have a little slack and tape down the bottom. I added a bit of the same tape on top but did not remove the backer. You will remove the backer when we add the top frames/acetate.

Emboss the sentiments of Happy Holidays from the Happy Day stamp set. I used white embossing powder and embossable acetate.

Sandwich the acetate between the two extra frames with liquid glue or your choice of adhesive.

Center and lay your card base down. The patterned paper, card stock, ink blended background, and frames should all be glued down and the Christmas tree attached.

Place the amount of sequins or glitter in the center. Carefully place the two top frames on the card base.

SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE!

“Happy Holidays” 5 x 7 Card
Happy Friday Everyone! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. Today I am sharing yet another 5 x 7 card. I think I’ve become obsessed with these larger cards!!! Today’s card features a snowy holiday feel and showcases a beautiful 5 x 7 foliage frame. And for an unexpected addition to the color scheme, I strategically turned up the leaves of this frame just a tad to reveal an underlying bright red pop of color.

I used the newly released Kat Scrappiness 5 x 7 Foliage Frame Die, along with the new “Happy Holidays” Word Die with Shadow. Note that this 5 x 7 Foliage Frame Die is also available in A2 and Slimline sizes.

Card Details:
- Created an A7 white card base (10″ x 7″, scored at 5″) to make a side folding 5 x 7 card.
- Adhered a layer of bright red cardstock onto the 5 x 7 card base.
- Die cut the Foliage Frame and sponged 3 Distress Oxide inks to color it: “Evergreen Bough,” “Chipped Sapphire,” and “Black Soot.”
- Sprinkled white acrylic paint over the whole die cut to create the feel of snow.
- Adhered the finished Foliage Frame over the red cardstock layer and popped up the leaves just slightly to reveal a hint of the red below.
- Die cut “Happy Holidays” from the same red cardstock and layered it 3 times for added dimension.
- Used a white gel pen to add a touch of “snow” on the tops of the letters before adhering the sentiment to a vellum die cut shadow.
- Adhered the sentiment/shadow to the center of the card.
- Dotted the “i” in “Holidays” with a white Chilly Willy Sprinkle and sprinkled some more around the card front for a finishing touch.
