    You Guac My World Card

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I have a super fun and easy card to share with you using the You Guac My World Stamp Set. Below are the steps to create your own card.

    Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Cardstock to 5 1/5″ x 4 1/4″. Using a craft mat apply Distress Oxide Ink Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron, spray with water. Dip the cardstock into the ink, heat set and dip repeatedly until you reach the desired effect. Adhere to card front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 3 – Stamp You Guac My World images onto white cardstock using Gina K Amalgam Ink for alcohol marker blending. Color in images using any alcohol markers. I used TriBlend by Spectrum Noir. Optional add Glossy Accents to the core. Let Dry. Fussy cut the images and adhere to card using foam tape.

Step 4 – Stamp You Guac My World sentiment using Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn underneath the images.

Step 5 – For added interest and sparkle adhere Green Jewels using a crystal katana and collage medium.

This card can be used for any occasion by changing the sentiment, colors and background. Below is a link to all the products used. To receive 10% off your next order use code: TINA10 at checkout. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

“Special Delivery” | Baby “Avo” Has Arrived!

Hey Crafters! Priscilla here with the second stamp set release for May from Kat Scrappiness called “You Guac My World.” Aren’t these avocados adorable?

When I saw one particular image in the set of the “Mama” avocado holding her baby, I knew I wanted to make a “Welcome Baby” card, but of course, a non-traditional one. LOL!

At the top is “Mama,” probably 9 1/2 pregnant with “Baby Avo.” And Avo, “in utero,” looks more than ready to bust loose! I stamped and then colored both avocados featured on the card with Copic Markers before cutting them out with my Brother Scan N Cut machine.

“Baby Avo” is really one of the critters fromKat‘s “Cute Critters Sprinkles Embellishment Mix.” I “implanted” her in Mama’s womb before covering both mother and child with Ranger Glossy Accents.

The background of the card was created with a grid stencil and a blend of Distress Oxides inks in “Spun Sugar”and “Worn Lipstick.” The green paper on the left and the stamped sentiments are from my stash. (I used one of Kat’s  “Stitched Sentiment Strips” for the “Congrats” sentiment.)

To finish off the card, I used some of  Kat‘s “Mixed Flower Sprinkle Embellishment Mix” to represent the path from “in utero” to “out of utero,” and pink “Nuvo Dream Drops “for the avocados’ cheeks.

My second card is a birthday one, with “Avo” and her parents on a cake platter. The background was created with the same stencil grid, but this time I used “Twisted Citron” and “Squeezed Lemonade” to create a soft blend before die cutting the panel using one of the Kat Scrappiness Cross Stitched Rectangle” dies.

    Here’s a closeup . . .

The stars are from Kat’s “Pink Solid Start Confetti Mix.”

5 Cards 1 Stamp Set with Wok On

Hello crafty friends! Do you ever get a new stamp set and know you could make oodles of great cards with it, but realize, a few months later, you’ve only used it maybe once? Today’s post was inspired by the idea of getting several uses out of a single stamp set in a single crafting session. When I want to make a batch of cards I tend to decide on some unifying things to make the process a little faster and then add unique touches to each one. To hear more about my thought process making these cards check out the video below:

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU1NDOUuHJA]

For my card set today I used one of the newest releases from Kat Scrappiness Wok On. This has so many images that are easy to color and also very easy to cut. I fussy cut all the images today. I decided to start with some common things I could do on each card to make the process a bit faster. I decided I would cut the main decorated panel using the Cross Stitched Rectangle die from Kat Scrappiness. Then I added a layer of colored cardstock and a layer of black to each card. The extra layer of mats helps the cards pop a bit and makes them clean and simple designs carry a bit more visual weight.

I colored all the images with Copic markers and once I picked a few markers I tried to use the same ones repeatedly to save time. I also used the markers to color the mats so that I wouldn’t waste time trying to find something that coordinated from my stash.

Each of the colored images was popped up to help it stand out a bit more. I have taken to layering scraps of cardstock to create my own pop ups instead of using foam. I like that I can control the thickness, save money, and use up what would otherwise be waste.

Finally each card was finished off with some Kat Scrappiness jewels or sequins. While picking out the perfect embellishment for each card was a bit time consuming it is definitely one of the fun parts of crafting for me but you could save time by using the Kat Scrappiness Black Jewels for each one since they would all match those.

Feel free to let me know which of the cards was your favorite or share a tip for how to make multiples cards more quickly. I love that I got so much use out of one new stamp set. Now to go craft with all the other new sets I have yet to ink up. 3×3 Card Set with May products

Hi everyone, today I have a 3×3 card set that uses all the new products released this month from Kat ScrappinessWok On, You Guac My World, and Layering Nested Hearts.  I love making these sets with matching envelopes, and they make great little gifts to give to friends.

On my first two cards, I used the You Guac My World stamp set with two of the punny sentiments that are included in the set.  I also used some of the lime green jewels on the first card.

On the next two cards, I used the Wok On stamp set with the great punny sentiments from this set.  I seriously cannot get enough of the punny sentiments!  For the first card, I used some medium blue jewels.

For this card, I used the Layering Nested Hearts with the Fancy Scalloped Heart dies.  I love how they perfectly layer on top of each other.

    Design Team Projects, New Releases

You’re Soy Amazing by Meghan Kennihan

    Hi Crafty Friends,

More Pun FUN at Kat Scrappiness with this fun Sushi set called “Wok On”. This set was released last week and it’s a hit! Both pun stamp sets are perfect for fun foodie cards! I mean if you don’t like sushi and avocado we need to talk. Get your “roll on”  here and use coupon code meghan for 10% off!

    Make Crafty Friends Q & A:

Q: What is your favorite kind of sushi?

A: Me? I’m simple. I like the tuna or California rolls 😉

I started by coloring my sushi with the copic colors in the above picture. Then I stamped all the sushi pieces on my base to create a sushi background.

Next I die cut a white rectangle from the Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangle Die to frame my sushi pieces.

I finished my card by stamping the sentiment and highlighting it with white gel pen and popping up the soy sauce with some foam tape.

    Wok On by Martha Lucia

Hi there! Today I’m sharing two projects featuring the Wok On stamp set released a few days ago.

    Wok On by Martha Lucia

My first card was made with Bazzill Basics Paper, combined some die cuts from Kat Scrappiness. I stamped the images of the stamp set Wok On onto whisper white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Alcohol Markers. I fussy cut the sushi images with my scissors and the sentiment with the Stitched Sentiment Strips.

Using the same color of Bazzill Basics Paper that I used for the card base, I die cut the Mandala Die by Kat Scrappiness and pasted it over the decorated card base using double sided foam tape. Then I arranged the images and pasted them over the mandala.

For my second card, I used more images included on the stamp set Wok On. To make this card I also used cardstocks from Bazzill Basics Paper. I created the background using the Medallion Cover Plate from Kat Scrappiness released a few months ago. I colored this directly with the ink pads to create a wood texture and made it more special.

The Wok on images from the stamp set Wok On and sentiment were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Alcohol Markers. I used one of the dies included on the Stitched Sentiment Strips.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my card. If you want to purchase this stamp set or any other product that I used, you can visit Kat Scrappiness Store, and make sure you use my code Martha10 to save 10% on your order.

    May Release: Wok On!

The new May Release stamp set,  “Wok On!” is my favorite. And that’s coming from someone that’s never eaten sushi! The images are adorable and the sentiments so punny. Don’t you just want to pinch the “cheeks” on those sushi rolls! LOL!

So rather than google the “correct” coloring for sushi and all its accoutrements, I decided to think “outside the box” and color them non-traditionally. Plus, I wanted to use the sentiment “I Like the Way You Roll,” as if the two matching sushis are accepting the turquoise one for being different, and it’s ok. Whew! We’re getting deep here! LOL!

I used my Brother Scan N Cut machine to cut out the rolls and then colored them with Copic markers. The background was created with a square stencil opening in which I blended a wash of pink Distress Oxide shades before using a cloud stencil for added texture. Kat‘s “Sparkling Clear Droplets” highlighted the fish eyes and Nuvo Dream Drops in “Love Potion” made those cheeks just pop!

For my second card, the turquoise sushi made another appearance, but this time he’s hanging out with his buddy, “Soy.”

Once again, I colored the images with Copic markers before adhering them to the “Wood Floor” die cut  from Penny Black. The flowers adhered to the teal background are actually stickers from my stash. I stamped the sentiment onto one of Kat‘s  “Stitched Sentiment Strips” dies, before adding Kat’s orange and yellow “jewels” to the centers of the flowers.
