    Avocado Shaker Card

    Good morning Kat Scrappiness fans!

It’s Lisa up on the blog today and I have a fun card featuring the

brand new You Guac My World stamp set!

I just love those cute avocados and they can really be used for so

    many different themed cards!

I used quite a few Kat Scrappiness products on this card.

Here’s how I put it together:

To begin with I made a square card base from kraft card stock

and I embossed the front with a heart embossing folder.

Next I took the largest Stitched Scalloped Heart Die and die

cut it out of white card stock. Since I wanted to make a shaker

element out of the heart I used a smaller Layered Nested Heart Die

to cut a smaller heart shape out of the layered heart.

Once I had the middle heart cut out, I layered acetate over the

heart shaped opening on the back of the scalloped heart.

I then used foam tape around the heart shaped opening to make

a well to put my shaker bits into.

I used the Sparkling Wintergreen Sequins and the

Mirrored Clear Solid Heart Confetti to fill my shaker window.

Once the shaker was full I backed the heart with some light green

patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn Gotta Have Gingham

paper pack. Once I glued the shaker element down,  I layered the

2 cute avocados on the bottom right of the heart that I had previously

colored with my Copic markers and cut out on my Scan n Cut machine.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I stamped it onto black card stock

using Versamark clear ink and then heat embossed it with

     Brutus Monroe alabaster embossing powder.

I have tried MANY MANY white embossing powder brands in the past

and this one is the first one to give me a bright white finish without

fading away while heating it with my heat gun.

It’s definitely my new favorite white embossing powder!

Once the sentiment was embossed and cooled off, I cut it out

using a die from the Stitched Fishtail Banner Dies.

Speaking of favorites, Kat Scrappiness just released their own

Metal Die Snips to cut apart your dies that come wired together.

They cut like butter and they have a flat edge that lets you cut right up

close to the die so it doesn’t leave any sharp edges.  They make clipping your

dies apart a breeze! Make sure to check them out in the shop today!

Here’s a picture of all the supplies I used on my shaker card today.

Thank you so much for joining me today! I really had fun making this card,

shakers are my favorite type of card to make and I just adore

those cute avocados from the new You Guac My World stamp set!

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I have a super fun and easy card to share with you using the You Guac My World Stamp Set. Below are the steps to create your own card.

    Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Cardstock to 5 1/5″ x 4 1/4″. Using a craft mat apply Distress Oxide Ink Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron, spray with water. Dip the cardstock into the ink, heat set and dip repeatedly until you reach the desired effect. Adhere to card front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 3 – Stamp You Guac My World images onto white cardstock using Gina K Amalgam Ink for alcohol marker blending. Color in images using any alcohol markers. I used TriBlend by Spectrum Noir. Optional add Glossy Accents to the core. Let Dry. Fussy cut the images and adhere to card using foam tape.

Step 4 – Stamp You Guac My World sentiment using Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn underneath the images.

“Special Delivery” | Baby “Avo” Has Arrived!

Hey Crafters! Priscilla here with the second stamp set release for May from Kat Scrappiness called “You Guac My World.” Aren’t these avocados adorable?

When I saw one particular image in the set of the “Mama” avocado holding her baby, I knew I wanted to make a “Welcome Baby” card, but of course, a non-traditional one. LOL!

At the top is “Mama,” probably 9 1/2 pregnant with “Baby Avo.” And Avo, “in utero,” looks more than ready to bust loose! I stamped and then colored both avocados featured on the card with Copic Markers before cutting them out with my Brother Scan N Cut machine.

“Baby Avo” is really one of the critters fromKat‘s “Cute Critters Sprinkles Embellishment Mix.” I “implanted” her in Mama’s womb before covering both mother and child with Ranger Glossy Accents.

The background of the card was created with a grid stencil and a blend of Distress Oxides inks in “Spun Sugar”and “Worn Lipstick.” The green paper on the left and the stamped sentiments are from my stash. (I used one of Kat’s  “Stitched Sentiment Strips” for the “Congrats” sentiment.)

To finish off the card, I used some of  Kat‘s “Mixed Flower Sprinkle Embellishment Mix” to represent the path from “in utero” to “out of utero,” and pink “Nuvo Dream Drops “for the avocados’ cheeks.

My second card is a birthday one, with “Avo” and her parents on a cake platter. The background was created with the same stencil grid, but this time I used “Twisted Citron” and “Squeezed Lemonade” to create a soft blend before die cutting the panel using one of the Kat Scrappiness Cross Stitched Rectangle” dies.

    Here’s a closeup . . .

The stars are from Kat’s “Pink Solid Start Confetti Mix.”

5 Cards 1 Stamp Set with Wok On

Hello crafty friends! Do you ever get a new stamp set and know you could make oodles of great cards with it, but realize, a few months later, you’ve only used it maybe once? Today’s post was inspired by the idea of getting several uses out of a single stamp set in a single crafting session. When I want to make a batch of cards I tend to decide on some unifying things to make the process a little faster and then add unique touches to each one. To hear more about my thought process making these cards check out the video below:

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU1NDOUuHJA]

For my card set today I used one of the newest releases from Kat Scrappiness Wok On. This has so many images that are easy to color and also very easy to cut. I fussy cut all the images today. I decided to start with some common things I could do on each card to make the process a bit faster. I decided I would cut the main decorated panel using the Cross Stitched Rectangle die from Kat Scrappiness. Then I added a layer of colored cardstock and a layer of black to each card. The extra layer of mats helps the cards pop a bit and makes them clean and simple designs carry a bit more visual weight.

I colored all the images with Copic markers and once I picked a few markers I tried to use the same ones repeatedly to save time. I also used the markers to color the mats so that I wouldn’t waste time trying to find something that coordinated from my stash.

Each of the colored images was popped up to help it stand out a bit more. I have taken to layering scraps of cardstock to create my own pop ups instead of using foam. I like that I can control the thickness, save money, and use up what would otherwise be waste.

Finally each card was finished off with some Kat Scrappiness jewels or sequins. While picking out the perfect embellishment for each card was a bit time consuming it is definitely one of the fun parts of crafting for me but you could save time by using the Kat Scrappiness Black Jewels for each one since they would all match those.

Feel free to let me know which of the cards was your favorite or share a tip for how to make multiples cards more quickly. I love that I got so much use out of one new stamp set. Now to go craft with all the other new sets I have yet to ink up. If you’re reading this the day it’s posted check out the Memorial Day sale and use the code MEMDAY19 to save or on a different day you can always save with the code JESS10.

3×3 Card Set with May products

Hi everyone, today I have a 3×3 card set that uses all the new products released this month from Kat ScrappinessWok On, You Guac My World, and Layering Nested Hearts.  I love making these sets with matching envelopes, and they make great little gifts to give to friends.

On my first two cards, I used the You Guac My World stamp set with two of the punny sentiments that are included in the set.  I also used some of the lime green jewels on the first card.

On the next two cards, I used the Wok On stamp set with the great punny sentiments from this set.  I seriously cannot get enough of the punny sentiments!  For the first card, I used some medium blue jewels.

For this card, I used the Layering Nested Hearts with the Fancy Scalloped Heart dies.  I love how they perfectly layer on top of each other.
