“Hoppy For You” | Creating Four Kangaroo Cards

Hey Crafters! Priscilla here! By now you’ve probably seen the new Kat Scrappiness “Hoppy for You” kangaroo stamp set. I don’t think there’s a lot of kangaroo stamps on market, so it makes this set even more special!

I’ve had such fun using this stamp set and created four cards for you today. Let’s get started!

My first card features “Kanga” deep in the jungle. (Note my “creative license” because I don’t think kangaroos live in that environment! LOL!)

For this card, I used the Kat Scrappiness “Foliage Frame” die and some patterned paper from my stash to create a “jungle” frame around the kangaroo. I used various shades of blue distress oxide inks on a fern patterned embossing folder for the background. “Kanga” was colored with the new-to-me Spectrum Noir “Tri-Blend Markers” and die cut using my Brother “Scan n Cut” machine.

I finished off the card with the “I Love ‘Roo” sentiment from the stamp set and some of Kat’s “Sparkling Clear Jewels.”

My second card features “Kanga” in the spotlight ready to present his “significant other” with a flower.

I used a MFT stencil and Distress White ink to create a spotlight on navy blue card stock. A star stencil and silver pigment ink finished the background. Once again I used the  Spectrum Noir  “Tri-Blend Markers” to color “Kanga” and the flowers, before die cutting them using my Brother  “Scan n Cut” machine.

I used Kat‘s “Sparkling Clear Droplets” to connect “Kanga” to his speech bubble.

For my third card, “Kanga” is posing for a “Selfie” with his buddies.

To make this card, I stamped “Kanga” and them masked him off and stamped the “Photo Bomb” stamp (from Mama Elephant) over the mask. I colored both the kangaroo and his friends with alcohol markers. I also used a M.E. die to cut out the image to look like an Instagram frame and found a template on Pinterest that had the appropriate symbols for the bottom margin.

I used patterned paper from the Simple Stories “Say Cheese” collection and some black card stock die cut with Kat‘s “Cross Stitched Rectangle” die for the base layer. Some of Kat‘s hearts were the final touch to this card.

My final card would be perfect for a “New Mom.”

I created a soft background with Distress Oxide inks and MFT cloud and grass stencils. Note the pouch stamped on Mama Kangaroo’s belly. This is an additional stamp in the set just for that purpose. I cut a slit in it before inserting Baby, with some flowers from the stamp set added behind. The sentiment was stamped on one of Kat’s “Stitched Fishtail Banner” dies, a butterfly from the “Crafters Essentials-Easter Edition” die set was added, with a balloon die from my stash for the finishing touch.

    Magical Unicorn Shaker Card

Hello crafty friends! Kat Scrappiness is releasing some beautiful sprinkles and sequins this month and for today’s project I was inspired by the new sprinkles mix Magical Unicorn Sprinkles. I picked out a favorite unicorn stamp set to pair with it, Be a Unicorn from Avery Elle, and some matching Distress Oxide Inks Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet. For a more detailed tutorial check out my video below:

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOIZDcg94Ko]

I blended up a background using the inks, spritzed it with some shimmer spray, and then cut it with the Mandala Frame die. I then colored up my unicorn. using Copics (C00, C1, R81, R83, R85, V20, V22, V25, B00, B02, B04). When it was time to set up the shaker, I was able to make rectangles because of the small border around the diecut. I had picked the mandala frame because it had an obvious focal point and I knew I would be able to create rectangles for the shaker part. This meant being able to add shaker material to the top and bottom of the card and extra shaker card goodness without have to shake the card too hard. Finally I filled up my shaker with the Magical Unicorn sprinkles and some Pink Solid Confetti. I love how the Pink Solid Confetti changes when you move it in the light.

If you love to use your Distress Oxide inks and don’t want to worry about your pads running dry check out the Kat Scrappiness reinkers sale. You can always use the code Jess10 to save your order at KS. Supply list at the bottom on the post if needed.

Dad Joke Food Pun Fun By Meghan Kennihan

    Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s almost Father’s Day! Did you make your dad a card? Guy cards are so hard to make, so I’m giving you a great idea with these great “Dad Joke” type puns! I had so much fun making this BBQ/picnic themed card. This adorable set from Kat Scrappiness is called Punny Snack Stamp Set and it’s chalk full of funny! I mean come on, who doesn’t love a good food pun or Dad Joke?

Have you joined the Kat Scrappiness June Challenge yet? The theme is MEALS with DAD… this set is PERFECT for the Challenge, shop now, and show us your card!

    Make Crafty Friends Q & A:

Q: What is your favorite food pun? or Dad Joke?

A: Me? I love the food pun on this set…Exercise? No EXTRA fries! HA!

I started by finding a pattern paper that looks like a picnic tablecloth for my panel. I colored up the little food images and fussy cut them out. I matched them with their sentiments which I stamped on the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Flag dies. I finished the card by adding some glossy accents to the stamps and strips of ribbon across the top and bottom.

    So Happy For You

Hi everyone!  Did you see the cute stamp set, So Hoppy For You, that was released earlier this week.  It’s so cute and I can’t resist a kangaroo!

As cute as they are, I wanted to show you how you can use the smaller stamps and modify one of the sentiments to get more use out of this stamp set.

I created a wreath using the leaf stamp from the So Hoppy For You stamp set and the Wreath Builder template from Gina K.   I used one of the Wonky Wavy Stitched rectangle dies to cut out the wreath panel  I then stamped the small flower and the bunch of flowers from the stamp set and colored everything with Copic markers.  I cut out the small flowers and cut out just the big flower from the bunch of flowers.  I adhered the flowers around the wreath.  I added some orange, pretty pink, and medium blue jewels to finish the wreath.

For the sentiment, I stamped the So Hoppy For You sentiment directly onto the wreath panel.  I then took a black pen from my stash and turned the “o” in Hoppy to an “a” to make the sentiment say so happy for you. And wallah, you have a new sentiment for this stamp set!

    So Hoppy For You Card

HI Everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I have a sweet card to share with you using the new Hoppy For You Stamp set. I was totally thrilled when I received them as who can resist adorable Roo’s!!! Below you will find the steps to make your own card.

    Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a horizontal side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Apply Distress Oxide Broken China and Tumbled Glass to the card front using the Life Changing Brushes to create a Ombre Background. Starting at the top apply Broken China, then work in Tumbled Glass and fading out to nothing.

Step 3 – Optional – Stamp Border to the edges on top and bottom. (A diagonal stripe) using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

Step 4 – Diecut Stitched Scallop Border using White Cardstock 2 times. Adhere to card on top and bottom using foam tape leaving 1/2″ to show the border stamp. If you skipped Step 3 then adhere completely to the top and bottom.

Step 5 – Stamp Hoppy For You images using Gina K Amalgam Ink on White Cardstock. This is for alcohol coloring and won’t create smudges or smears. Color in the images using alcohol markers of your choice. I used Tri-Blend markers from Spectrum Noir. Fussy cut the images and adhere to card using foam tape and Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. (Foam Tape only where the images will touch the card front.)

Step 6 – Stamp Hoppy For You sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I decided against any added interest and sparkle but you can certainly add some. This card can be used for any occasion by changing the colors and sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. To receive 10% off your next order use code: TINA10 at checkout. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

    Kangaroo Flip Card

Welcome back to the blog Kat Scrappiness Fans! It’s Lisa here today and I have a special card for you using the new Hoppy for You stamp set.  This adorable stamp set features the most adorable Kangaroo with her Baby Roo! It also has the cutest little pouch stamp to put baby roo in.  It also contains some small sweet floral images to adorn your Kangaroo cards!

I thought it was only fitting to make a flip card for this new stamp set.

Here is a second picture with the inside of the front panel after it opens.

I followed a video on YouTube to make the basic mechanism for the flip part of the card.

I used the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies for the bottom panel of the card and the top panels were hand cut into layered rectangles.

I just love how this card came out and it’s so much fun to open and close.

Here is a short clip to show how the card works.

    PRISCILLA JOSEPH

Wow, wow, wow!  I absolutely LOVE this AMAZING card design by Priscilla.   She masked her image using masking paper to create the “selfie” scene on her card and colored her Kangaroo with Spectrum Noir TriBlend markers.  The background paper she used is by Simple Stories “Say Cheese”.  To finish her design, she used the heart embellishments from the shop.  I think her design is so clever and unique!
