  • Clean & Simple “Love” A2 Card

Clean & Simple “Love” A2 Card

Sheri here today with a CAS (clean and simple) Valentine card idea!

I love the look of Clean & Simple cards but sometimes struggle with leaving all the white space.

For today’s card I used the white space to show off the texture of KS NEW Stitched Hearts Cover Plate and just added a trio of hearts and a sentiment! Do you like to make CAS cards?

    Steps to Create Card:

    • Create A2 Top Fold Card Base: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″).
    • Cut White Mat: 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″
    • Take a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel and cut it out with the Stitched Hearts Cover Plate. Next you will cut down the panel using the Never Ending Rectangles die set to create a panel measuring  3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″.
    • Cut out 3 hearts using the second largest die from the Nested Heart die set (2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″). I used Gina K Red Hot, Dusty Rose and Innocent Pink for my colored card stock. For a little added texture I ink blended the edges of the hearts with the coordinating ink colors.
    • Cut the “Love” from the I Love You Shadow die set with red glittler card stock.
    • Cut a Vellum belly band to wrap around card behind sentiment measuring 5″ x 1 1/4″.
    • For embellishment I cut out a few tiny hearts from the Heart Dounut Builder die set to sprinkle on the right side of my card.
    • Assemble Card. To add a little dimension, I used foam tape to pop up the card panel to the card base along with the three hearts.

  • Quokka Valentine Mini Slimline

    Quokka Valentine Mini Slimline

Sheri here today with a a SWEET Mini Slimline card!

For my card I pulled out the Valentine Quokka stamp and coordinating die set along with a bunch of dies to create this card using my favorite Valentine color combo (Red, Pink & White).

    Steps to Crate Card:

    • Create Red Mini Slimline card base: 3 1/2″ x 6″ (3 1/2″ x 7″, scored at 3 1/2″ on the 7″ side).
    • Cut two White Frames using the largest die in the Mini Slimline Tri-Frame die set.
    • Cut Pink Panel slightly smaller than 3 1/2″ x 6″ and use to the Stitched Hearts Coverplate to add texture.
    • Cut small Red Strip 3 1/4″ x 1 1/2″ to anchor your Quokka and sentiment. I them cut a angle at the top for a little interest.
    • Cut Silver Glitter Card stock strip 3 1/4″ x 1/2″. You will add this to the very top of the Red Strip.
    • Cut 3 Hearts in Red Felt from the Say It With Hearts die. To add a little support I cut of 3 additional Red Hearts from card stock and attached them with glue. I also cut out the smallest heart from the Layering Heart die set for the quokka to hold.
    • Stamp Quokka from Valentine Quokka stamp set and color with your favorite coloring medium. I used Gina K. Designs Amalgam Obsidian ink as it is alcohol friendly and colored with Copic markers.
    • Stamp Sentiment on a scrap of Black card stock and emboss your sentiment with White Embossing Powder. Then trim out with the smallest die from the Boxed Sentiment Strip die set.
    • Assemble card. For the balloons attached the twine to the back of the heart for the strings.
    • For embellishment I added a few 4mm Metallic Red Solid Heart Sequins. I also added a pink clay heart from the Hearts Sprinkle mix to the small heart the the Quokka is holding

I just LOVE the texture that the felt added to the card along with the stitched background!

  • A Fun Valentine Card

    A Fun Valentine Card

Hello everyone!! Nora here on the blog with a fun Valentine card I created using some of the recently released Kat Scrappiness Valentine Products.

This card might look like it has a lot of pieces to it (it does) but it is a relatively easy card to put together.

I began my card by layering a gray pattern piece of paper from the new Kat Scrappiness Spectrum of Love Slimline Paper pack over a white, A2 card base. I then used the newly released Kat Scrappiness Stitched Hearts Cover Plate and the KS Never Ending Circle Die to die cut a white circle. I adhered this over the pattern paper on my card front.

I layered a frosted “donut” that I created using the new Kat Scrappiness Heart Donut Builder Dies, Glossy Accents and Banana Split Sprinkles. Doesn’t it look delicious? Using the Glossy Accents and the Sprinkles helps give the donut a more realistic look.

I heat embossed a sentiment in white from the For the Love of Donuts Stamp Set and a die cut “love” from the Love You Sentiment w/ Shadow Die in black for the sentiment on my card. To complete my project, I added a few embellishments from the XOXO Sprinkles Set randomly around my card. I hope my card inspires you to create your own Valentines!!!

I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by today. Please pop in to the Kat Scrappiness Blog this week for another fabulous project from the Design Team.

  • sending love & donuts!

    sending love & donuts!

Good Morning! Today I am showing off the new Valentine Release from Kat Scrappiness. It’s a beauty! I have had so much fun making Valentine’s cards so thought let’s make a postcard. The new A2 Postcard Die is perfect for doing so. So, let’s make a card (or postcard)!

    • Start with a piece of red card stock.
    • Die cut your post card using the A2 Postcard Die We are really going to get inky!
    • Ink blend the edges to add some depth. I used similar shades of ink.Next I used a gold water color paint to splatter the heck out of the card. I also splattered some white paint as well.
    • After the panel was completely dry I used the Kat Scrappiness Telescopic Embossing Powder Tool all over the card.
    • Then I used the sentiments from the For the Love of Donuts stamp set. These sentiments are so cute. My husband is a bit tired of me telling him “You drive me GLAZY!”….LOL
    • I stamped the sentiments in white ink and covered them with white embossing powder and used my heat tool.
    • Next, I die cut 3 of the large plain hearts from the Heart Donut Builder dies using Neenah Classic Crest White 110lb card stock. I also cut 2 pieces of white card stock with the frosting die.
    • Then I ink blended one of each with some red shades of Distress Oxides. I just went lightly around the edges of the frosting, then splattered it with gold water color paint. I used a heavier hand on the main heart.
    • Adhere all of the pieces together.
    • There is another frosting die in the Heart Donut Builder set that has small hearts. I took a scrap piece of Memory Box Glitter Paper-Festive Pack, and cut a few hearts for sprinkles. I also cut a few of the tiny hearts from the set in gold glitter paper.
    • I stamped our sweet little Dress Up Quokka stamp on a postage shaped die Ihad in my stash. I inked the edges with black ink and added it to a 1.25 x 1.25″ square to look like a postage stamp.
    • I added sprinkles from the XOXO Sprinkle Mix and the Lots of Smooches Mix.
    • I also cut an A2 panel from black card stock. I adhered the postcard on to this, slightly offset. I think it makes the postcard pop a bit!

That’s it our postcard is complete! What do you think? Let me know in the comments below. Please subscribe to my blog, follow me on Instagram @expressivepaper. You must stop over at the Kat Scrappiness shop and check out these fabulous products.

  • Rainbow Hugs and Smooches

    Rainbow Hugs and Smooches

Hello and Happy Saturday!  Donna W. here today sharing a Valentine’s Day Card created with new products from the Kat Scrappiness January Valentine’s Day Release.   Before we get to my card, I would like to remind you to stop by the “What’s New” Section of the Shop to see all the wonderful products that are available.

Now, let’s get to this colorful card!

This card was so fun to create and it looks complicated but the dies made it easy.  To start my card, I cut strips of card from the Spectrum of Love Slimline Paper Pack and adhered to the back of the Smooches Coverplate Die cut in rainbow order (ROYGBIV).  This created a card front full of fun and colorful lips.  This die set also includes the extra large pair of lips that I cut from bright pink card, adhered to a black shadow and applied Glossy Accents for that shiny Lip Gloss Look.

To complete the design, I’ve cut the sentiment using the Rainbow Hugs Sentiment with Shadow Die from Lavendar card and popped on craft foam for dimension.  Lastly, I’ve applied Wink of Stella to the sentiment for the extra sparkle a Valentine’s Day card requires.
Thanks for stopping in today!  Until next time Stay Safe, Be Healthy and Happy Crafting!

  • See Through Shaker Valentine’s Day Card

See Through Shaker Valentine’s Day Card

    Hello crafty friends!

It’s Alicia a.k.a. Crafty Al here to share a look at the see through shaker card that I created for Valentine’s Day using some of the new products from Kat Scrappiness.

I used the largest heart from the Hearts of Love Shaker Card die set to cut a window in the turquoise cardstock and the card base. For added texture on the turquoise piece I used the NEW Stitched Hearts Coverplate die – I just love the subtle stitched effect it gives.

To create the see-through shaker, I sandwiched some of the NEW Light Turquoise Pearl Mix between 2 scraps of acetate. The silver foil heart on the front was cut with the same heart as the opening. To finish it off, I stamped a greeting for the front and inside from the Valentine Quokkas stamp set.

You can check out my video for the full process…

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed today’s card!

  • Pack a Suitcase with Valentine Love

Pack a Suitcase with Valentine Love

Hi Everyone! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs,  Today I am sharing the whimsical Valentine card I created by turning a “gift bag” die into a “suitcase.”

    But first . . .

For my card, I used the Kat Scrappiness “Gift Bag” die, the new “Heartfelt Wishes” slimline paper pad, and the just released “Valentine Quokka” stamp set.

The gift bag is designed for just that, a gift bag in which you would insert a gift card, but I decided to turn it on its side, and make it a “suitcase.”

I used some plaid paper from the new “Heartfelt Wishes” slimline paper pad, and die cut the suitcase. I die cut it again using brown card stock, fussy cut out just the “trim” and adhered these strips around the edges of the suitcase. I punched out the corner protectors and lock plate out of gold card stock and adhered.

I adhered a “LOVE” decal and pink baggage tag and then die cut two hearts out of the same paper pack using the “Say it with Hearts” coordinating heart die . Finally, I added the adorable Valentine quokka, complete with bowtie, to the front.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Don’t forget to check out what’s NEW in Kat’s Shop, and follow my blog and Instagram for more “Kat Scrappiness Amazingness”!

  • Happy Valentine’s Day Quokka

    Happy Valentine’s Day Quokka

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope everyone is having a good weekend.  Today I have a fun mini slimline shaker card for you today.

I started by die cutting a piece of the new Heartfelt Wishes slimline paper with the double stitched mini slimline die.  I then die cut the heart from this panel using the double stitched heart dies.  I layered the panel onto a die cut piece of brown card stock using the stitched scalloped mini slimline die.  I filled the heart shaker with Hearts O’Plenty sequins, Love Heart sprinkles, and red and white seed beads.

I colored the quokka from the Valentines Quokka stamp set with Copic markers.  The sentiments, also from the Valentine Quokka stamp set, were stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder onto red card stock.  I adhered the panel onto a red mini slimline card base.  The mini slimline card base measures 3.5 x 6 inches.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  • Valentine Love

    Valentine Love

    • Happy Saturday to all my crafty friends. It is time to start making Valentine cards using stamps and dies from the large Kat Scrappiness line of Valentine stamps and dies.
    • I started the card by cutting an A-2 red card base. Next I cut a layer one in white and splattered black craft paint on it. I then cut a thin black frame to add to the layers.

Using the KS I Love You Shadow die I cut the l and the You out of pink card stock and the love out of red card stock. Then I die cut the shadow in gray for the pink words and black for the red word.

Next I stamped the kaolas and the foliage from the Koala-ty Time Stamp Set. These images I colored and placed onto the card front. I used foam tape for the koalas. Lastly I added the sentiment tucked in among the stamped images. For my final touch I added a few red Heart sprinkles to the card front.

    Supplies:

    KS red Heart sprinkles

KS I Love You Shadow die

    KS Koala-ty Time Stamp set
