Rainbow of “Hope” Slimline Card with Eclipse Effect | Call Me Crafty Al

    Hello crafty friends!

It’s Alicia a.k.a. Crafty Al here to share a look at the card that I created using some of the NEW products from Kat Scrappiness – including the Fluttering By Collection.

To get started I stamped the solid butterfly from the Fluttering By stamp set in a rainbow of inks along the bottom of a slimline-sized piece of cardstock.

I wanted to use the “eclipse” technique for this card so I used some letters from the Uppercase Condensed Alpha die set and the solid butterfly from the Fluttering By die set to cut out parts of the stamped piece. I also used the middle die from the Slimline Reverse Scallop die set to cut a white frame. I thought this would help separate the background from the die cut pieces.

To finish the card I popped the die cut pieces over their openings using foam tape and added some shine with the Sparkling Snow Pearl Mix.

You can check out my video for the full process…

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed today’s card!

    Love is in the Air

    Happy Saturday to all,

Creating a slim line Valentine today using Kat Scrappiness dies. This is a clean and simple card for when you have to make a card and do not want to ink.

I cut a standard 3.5 x8.5 inch base in black card stock. Next I die cut a layer using the Kat Scrappiness “Zig Zag” slim line die in a salmon card stock. Finally I cut a white layer to size leaving only a zig zag boarder.

Now for the focal images, I die cut hearts in three colors using Kat Scrappiness “Embossed Edged Heart” Die. I found that five rows of two fit nicely onto the white layer.  For the sentiment I die cut the words love and you using the Kat Scrappiness “I Love You” shadow die Set. I cut the words twice, once in black and once in salmon. I stacked them using an offset to create a shadow behind the sentiment. I added a few sequins and the card is complete.

  • Christmas/Winter from Cincinnati

    Christmas/Winter from Cincinnati

    Friends,

Creating today with the Kat Scrappiness slim line dies. For those who do not know, Cincinnati is usually bleak and gray most of the winter and is known as the city on seven hills.

I started with a layer one for a standard slim line card (3.5×8.5 inches) I ink blended the sky on gray card stock and stamped clouds and birds onto it. Next I die cut the slim line Mountain Scape and slim line Holiday Village out of more shades of gray card stock.

I added yellow paper behind the window cutouts. I assembled the pieces to make the scene. I embossed the sentiment in white on black and added it to the card. A few sequins for sparkle were added. Finally I attached this layer to the black slim line card base.

  • Ho! Ho! Ho! | Slimline Stocking Card

Ho! Ho! Ho! | Slimline Stocking Card

Hi Everyone! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. Today I have a slimline stocking card for you that was quick and easy to make using only dies and patterned paper – no stamping at all! Plus a Christmas stocking wouldn’t be complete without real fur trim at the top, right?  LOL!

For this card, I used lots of Kat Scrappiness dies and one of the new Christmas slimline  paper pads in her shop, “A Cozy Christmas.”

I started by die cutting the stocking using the “Build a Stocking” die and the blue snowflake patterned paper in the paper pad. I added a white toe and heel and a snowflake for the middle. The snowflake is one of several small dies included to help you decorate the stocking.

For the card base I die cut the top layer from the red plaid paper in the same paper pad using the largest of the “Stitched Scalloped Nesting Slimline Dies.”

I adhered a strip of white “fur” to the top of the stocking and die cut the sentiment using the  “Ho! Ho! Ho! Brush Script Word and Sentiment Die” and some blue card stock. Kat‘s white “Snowflake Sprinkles” colored blue with a marker were the finishing touch.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Don’t forget to check out what’s NEW in Kat’s Shop, and follow my blog and Instagram for more “Kat Scrappiness Amazingness”!

  • Thanks

    Thanks

    Hello all,

Creating a fall thank you card today using the slim line dies from Kat Scrappiness along with the large Alphabet dies. Love how easy slim line cards are to make when using these great dies to get the perfect sizing for the different layers.

Started with a slim line card base then die cut the next layer of yellow and added it to the base. Using the Stitched Frame dies, I chose the size I wanted and cut a blue frame to add a space for the message. Next I cut out leaves and blended fall ink colors onto the leaves. Using a leaf stamp I had, I stamped leaf veins onto the leaf cut outs. Before adding the leaves I decided to splat some black paint to the card front. Finally I glued on the leaves to the corners to add additional color.

Using the large Alphabet dies I cut out the word thanks in both black and wood grain paper. I glued the wood grain letters offset onto the black letters creating a shadow for the letters. Thanks was then attached using foam tape to add dimension to the card front. My final step was to add a few sequins.

    Supplies:

    KS-Stitched Frames slim line

    -Large Alphabet dies

    -Clear sequins

  • Walk in the Woods

    Walk in the Woods

Friends, today we are making a fallish/winter slim line card using the great newly released Kat Scrappiness slim line dies. I started with a piece of A Cozy Christmas slimline paper for the background. It was cut to 3.5 in. X 8.5 in. Next I used the Forrest For the Trees slim line die and cut it out of white card stock. I used the same die and cut it again out of silver paper to create a frame in a different color. I cut the trees out of the silver die cut leaving only the frame. The frame was then glued over the white frame. This piece was then attached to the background paper. Then I cut a black piece of paper slightly larger to create the tiny frame around the silver frame.

I decided to add the squirrels and nuts from the Lawn Fawn Let’s Go Nuts Stamp Set. Lawn Fawn is sold on the Kat Scrappiness web site. Using a gray Copic marker I added shadow to the snow around the squirrels and wagon.

I finished off the card by Embossing the sentiment and adding a few sequins also available at Kat Scrappiness. I did use foam tape to bump up the sentiment and one squirrel.

  • Hey, Chicken!

    Hey, Chicken!

    Hey friends,

Love working with all the new slim line dies from Kat Scrappiness. Today I created a fun background with the “Wood Frame Slimline Die”. I love the way the die cut can represent different things based on the fore ground images. I was trying for a fence and I think I was successful.

Vertically it could be a trellis when used with flowers. Possibilities for this Die are endless.  Looking forward to seeing all the creations coming from all of you using this and other Kat Scrappiness slim line dies.
