Make a Wish – Masculine Birthday Card

Happy Saturday Everyone! Priscilla here from the Kat Scrappiness Design Team. Today I am sharing a masculine birthday card, with almost a “baroque” vibe, perfect for a guy in your life. I love dry embossing with black cardstock and then sponging inks or wax pastes over the textured pattern for a “vintage” feel.

    But first . . .

    Absolute Birthday Card Essentials!

Good Morning, Kathy here with some new inspiration for you.  The new Birthday Essentials die set from Kat Scrappiness provides many elements to create beautiful birthday cards. Today’s card is a bit interactive as I added a wobble. I think it is so fun and hope you do too! This was easy to create and a load of fun. Drop a comment below and let me know what you think of this card. The Birthday Essentials die set can be found here and I encourage you to check it out as I don’t think it will be available for long! Now it’s time to make a card!

    CARD SUPPLIES

    CARD DETAILS

    • Cut, score, and fold a 5″ x 5″ card base.
    • Cut a panel from white card stock measuring 4.5″ x 4.5″.
    • Add some interest to this panel by using an embossing folder or just score lines every 1/4″ like I did.
    • With a 3″ circle die, center, and die-cut from the smaller panel.
    • With a slightly larger die, cut a circle from the Birthday Essentials Paper Pack.
    • Die-cut your birthday hats from the Birthday Essentials die set. I cut 4 hats. Two from silver and two from blue card stock. But if you just want to use patterned paper behind your hats you only need two.
    • Trace the hat onto a piece of white card stock and cut it out two times. This will be glued to the back of the hat if you are inlaying your small die-cut elements. If you are using patterned paper trace the hats and glue the patterned paper to the back of the die-cut hats.
    • I took the inside die pieces from one hat and inlaid them into the other hat. So on this card I took the blue dots and inlaid them into the silver hat with dots, then the silver stripes were inlaid into the blue hat.
    • Tape your larger patterned circle to the back of the main card panel with low-tack tape. Add glue ONLY to the circle. Then, center the main panel onto the card base and press down on the circle. This will get you perfect placement for the larger circle. (Remember to remove the low tack tape)
    • Layout your hats. To one of the hats, I added foam tape to pop it up. I added a little wobble piece to the second hat and adhered to that.
    • I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Nocturne Clair black ink from the Everyday Brushstrokes stamp set. I then embossed with clear embossing powder and heated. I cut the sentiment with my paper cutter then cut a slightly larger rectangle from blue card stock. Glue these together and add to your card. Where the sentiment was touching the card I used liquid glue. Then I put a small piece of foam behind the area touching the patterned circle.
    • Add a few silver confetti and the card is done.

As always, I thank you for visiting my blog today and would love for you to subscribe to it. Make sure you stop over and check out the new release at the Kat Scrappiness Shop. It is an amazing release!

Slimline Celebration Shaker Card with Film Strip Frame

Hi friends!  I have a shaker celebration card to share with you today.  I decided that I wanted to create a nice general celebration card for my stash.  I’m using the new Birthday Essentials die set along with the Slimline Film Strip frame die set to create a quick and easy shaker card that will work for almost any celebration!

I used the fabulous Birthday Essential die set with some pastel cardstock scraps to create the celebration images for my card.

The Slimline Film Strip die made the perfect backdrop for the colorful embellishments.  I used the Rainbow Confetti paper in blue for my background as well.

I love that this frame die gives me a set of three windows to draw attention to the little dies from the Birthday Essentials set.  These two sets work so well together!

You can see the Berry Lemonade Sprinkles that I have used inside the card.  You can see all the steps for constructing this card in my video below.

The Happy Day sentiment came from the Say it with Hearts stamp set.  I simply left out the Valentine’s part of the sentiment!  I love that this stamp set has those 3 words as separate pieces so they can be combined in several different ways.   This clever design allowed me to take advantage of the versatility of the sentiment stamps!

Make a Wish on Your Birthday

Hello and Happy Tuesday Crafty Friends!  Donna W. here today showcasing a bright and cheerful Birthday card created with new products from the February 2022 Release.

Before we get to my card, I would like to remind everyone of the Ink Pads and Re-Inkers Sale currently going on at the Kat Scrappiness Shop.  You can get 15% off the entire category by using the code: “INKPADS”

Earlier this month, Kat Scrappiness released the Birthday Essentials products, which consist of designer papers, dies and embellishments all guaranteed to make birthday card creating a Snap.

My A2 card today features die cuts from the Birthday Essentials Die SetMake a Wish Sentiment Die with Shadow and DSP from the Birthday Essentials 6×8″ paper pack.

This card was created in less than 10 minutes and has been sent to a friend overseas, who is celebrating a Birthday the end of this month.  The Birthday Essentials Die Set includes balloons, presents, a tiered birthday cake, candles, a party hat and more.
The Make a Wish Sentiment Die comes with a Shadow; I decided not to include the shadow on my card but I did cover the sentiment with Gold Stickles for that extra bit of sparkle.
I die cut the balloons and an angled panel from the DSP and backed the “highlight” area of the balloons with white glitter card.  I added a strip of red glitter card to give the DSP a “finished” edge.
Lastly, I’ve added Majestic Blue Pearls from Kat Scrappiness for additional interest and shine.
Thanks for visiting today and until next time, Happy Crafting!
    Donna W.
