Slimline Celebration Shaker Card with Film Strip Frame

Hi friends!  I have a shaker celebration card to share with you today.  I decided that I wanted to create a nice general celebration card for my stash.  I’m using the new Birthday Essentials die set along with the Slimline Film Strip frame die set to create a quick and easy shaker card that will work for almost any celebration!

I used the fabulous Birthday Essential die set with some pastel cardstock scraps to create the celebration images for my card.

The Slimline Film Strip die made the perfect backdrop for the colorful embellishments.  I used the Rainbow Confetti paper in blue for my background as well.

I love that this frame die gives me a set of three windows to draw attention to the little dies from the Birthday Essentials set.  These two sets work so well together!

You can see the Berry Lemonade Sprinkles that I have used inside the card.  You can see all the steps for constructing this card in my video below.

The Happy Day sentiment came from the Say it with Hearts stamp set.  I simply left out the Valentine’s part of the sentiment!  I love that this stamp set has those 3 words as separate pieces so they can be combined in several different ways.   This clever design allowed me to take advantage of the versatility of the sentiment stamps!

Make a Wish on Your Birthday

Hello and Happy Tuesday Crafty Friends!  Donna W. here today showcasing a bright and cheerful Birthday card created with new products from the February 2022 Release.

Before we get to my card, I would like to remind everyone of the Ink Pads and Re-Inkers Sale currently going on at the Kat Scrappiness Shop.  You can get 15% off the entire category by using the code: “INKPADS”

Earlier this month, Kat Scrappiness released the Birthday Essentials products, which consist of designer papers, dies and embellishments all guaranteed to make birthday card creating a Snap.

My A2 card today features die cuts from the Birthday Essentials Die SetMake a Wish Sentiment Die with Shadow and DSP from the Birthday Essentials 6×8″ paper pack.

This card was created in less than 10 minutes and has been sent to a friend overseas, who is celebrating a Birthday the end of this month.  The Birthday Essentials Die Set includes balloons, presents, a tiered birthday cake, candles, a party hat and more.
The Make a Wish Sentiment Die comes with a Shadow; I decided not to include the shadow on my card but I did cover the sentiment with Gold Stickles for that extra bit of sparkle.
I die cut the balloons and an angled panel from the DSP and backed the “highlight” area of the balloons with white glitter card.  I added a strip of red glitter card to give the DSP a “finished” edge.
Lastly, I’ve added Majestic Blue Pearls from Kat Scrappiness for additional interest and shine.
Thanks for visiting today and until next time, Happy Crafting!
    Donna W.

    Confetti Balloons Birthday Shaker Card

    Hello crafty friends!

It’s Alicia a.k.a. Crafty Al here to share a look at the FUN confetti balloon shaker card I made using some of the new products from Kat Scrappiness.

I used balloons from the Birthday Essentials Dies to create the opening for my shaker windows in an embossed piece of cardstock. For the sentiment I used the Happy Birthday with Shadow dies and cut the words from gold foil cardstock and the shadow from vellum.

For my shaker bits I used these cute and tiny gold star sequins.

You can check out my video for the full process…

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed today’s card!

    Happy Birthday!

    Hello everyone!

It’s Donna Idlet here sharing a slimline card I made using the newly released Birthday Essentials Dies, the Happy Birthday Sentiment die w/ Shadow and the 6×8 Birthday Essentials Paper Pad. The new Birthday release is so much fun!! I love the bright bold colors that makes a perfect birthday card.
Here is my card for your inspiration:
    • Created a mini slimline card measuring 6″ x 3 1/2″ (6″ x 7″, scored at 3 1/2″).
    • Die cut the top layer with KS Mini Slimline Cross Stitched die.
    • Used a stencil to create the pattern in the background.  Used the KS Mini Slimline Card Set for the card base.
    • Used the pattern paper from the  6×8 Birthday Essentials Paper Pad to die cut the presents from the Birthday Essentials Die Set.  The solid card stock for the ribbon and bow is card stock from my stash.
    • Die cut the top layer from the KS mini slimline zig zag and the bottom layer I used the mini slimline Double Stitched Dies. Die cut the birthday hats from the Birthday Essentials Die Set, using a couple of patterns from the Birthday Essentials Paper Pad, assembled and added some clear nuvo drops to the blue hat and Diamond Stickles to the yellow hat.
    • Die cut the Happy Birthday w/Shadow Die using only the word Birthday with black card stock.
    • Stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder Happy from the KS Koala-Ty Time stamp set (masked off the “Mother’s Day”).
    • Added some sprinkles from the Mixed Candy Sprinkles.
    • Assembled the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you have been inspired.

    Birthday Shaker Card with Vellum

balloon shaker, balloon cover plate, make a wish, Kat Scrappiness

Hi! This is Nicki from the Design Team here today to make a fun shaker card using vellum. I created a video with all the details that you can find on the Kat Scrappiness YouTube Channel, so make sure to check it out.

This card uses the Stitched Balloon Cover Plate die. I love these extra balloons because it gives you lots of options with this set.

First, I used the cover plate on white paper. Next I laid down some color from my ink pads onto another piece of paper. After laying down the color of the rainbow, I added Versamark ink to the top of all the colors. Next, I used holographic embossing powder to create my own custom rainbow card stock.

After all the colors were heat embossed, I cut the balloon shapes out of all of them. Before placing the balloons on the cover plate, I colored the strings of the balloons with a black copic marker.

Next, I placed the balloons in reverse rainbow order using glue and foam tape. Now, we need to make the shaker portion of the card. I cut a piece of vellum and used double sided adhesive to adhere it to the back of the cover plate. Next, I added foam tape around the outside of the card to create the shaker window.

Then, it was time to place the shaker pieces in the center of the card and adhere the front to make the shaker window.

All that was left to do was to cut the sentiment shadow and words from the “Make a Wish” die.

What do you think of the vellum? I love how you can see hints of color behind it but the main rainbow really stands out. Let me know in the comments!

All the products used for the card will be listed below in the links, make sure to click through these if you are shopping today. They do NOT cost you anything and they help support my crafty goals. Thank you so much!
