    Hey, Chicken!

    Hey friends,

Love working with all the new slim line dies from Kat Scrappiness. Today I created a fun background with the “Wood Frame Slimline Die”. I love the way the die cut can represent different things based on the fore ground images. I was trying for a fence and I think I was successful.

Vertically it could be a trellis when used with flowers. Possibilities for this Die are endless.  Looking forward to seeing all the creations coming from all of you using this and other Kat Scrappiness slim line dies.

    Happy Birthday Wishes Slimline Card

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. I have an intricate card to share with you but actually very easy to make using the Chevron Slimline Coverplate. Below I will show you how so you can create your own Happy Birthday Wishes Slimline Card.

Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 7” x 8 1/2”, score at 3 1/2” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim White Cardstock to 3 1/2” x 8 1/2”. Apply ink of your choice to the entire panel. I used Distress Oxide Inks in Spiced Marmalade, Candied Apple, Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany.

Step 3 – Diecut Chevron Slimline Coverplate using the panel created in Step 2. Be careful to keep all the pieces intact. Use Press n Seal to cover the backside. This will keep all the pieces together. Turn around and remove the die. Now place another piece of Press n Seal to the top, turn around and remove the back Press n Seal. If you do not have Press n Seal then Masking Sheets will work as well. Add Foam Tape to all the negative pieces. Remove the release sheets and then carefully turn over the diecut and place on top of the card front. Remove the Press n Seal and carefully remove the positive diecut. See photos below for visual.

Step 4 – Apply ink of your choice on a scrap piece of White Cardstock. I used Distress Oxides Ink in Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, and Seedless Preserves. Diecut Never Ending Circles and Ovals to create balloons. Trim out a triangle in each color and adhere to card. Big circle balloon and oval using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and small circle using Foam Tape. Add Baker’s Twine to the back of the balloons and tie a bow to the small circle.

Step 5 – Diecut Happy from the Happy Easter with Shadow die (word only) using Gold Metallic Cardstock and another time with Black Cardstock. Adhere the gold on top of the black with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive by offsetting the black. Adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 6 – Stamp sentiment using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink on White Cardstock. Trim and adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 7 – For added interest add some detail to the balloons using a White Gel Pen.

This card can be used for many occasions by changing the colours and/or sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

    September Release Recap with Caren

How did you like the September release?  What was your favorite product?  I loved all the new Halloween sprinkles!

Here is a closer look at the cards I created for this release.

I’ll start with my favorite.  I created the black frame by using the new Neverending Slimline dies.  I took the two largest dies in the set and taped them together to give me a nice even frame, then ran it thru my die cut machine.  I added a piece of Kat Scrappiness’s slimline sized acetate sheets to the back of my frame and added foam tape around it to set up for a shaker card.  I filled the card with the following sprinkles – Pick Your Poison, Silver Starlights, Lime Green Confetti sprinkles, Orange Confetti sprinkles, and Dark Purple Confetti sprinkles.

I added the panel to a white card base.  Then adhered three colors classes and a banner with my I’ve Got Boos sentiment.

My second card uses the Foliage Frame Slimline die cut out of black card stock.  I used the condensed lowercase alphabet dies to cut out the word boo.  I cut it out of orange patterned paper and out of black card stock.  I layered these together to give a bit of dimension to the letters.  I adhered the frame, ghosts from my stash, and the boo sentiment to my card base that I covered in green pattern paper.  To finish the card, I added a few sequins and ghosts from the Boo-Tackular sequin mix.

My third card is another Halloween shaker card.  I used the Chevron Slimline die on two patterned papers – orange dots and black dots.  In then inlaid the black dot pieces into the orange frame.  The shaker part was pumpkin dies from my stash and I added sequins from the Bewitched mix.  I added this to a purple card base and die cut my Trick or Treat sentiment from the same purple paper.  I finished the card by adding a few purple sequins from the Going Batty Halloween mix.

My last card is a non-Halloween card using the Wood Grain Framed Diamond Wire Slimline die cut from white card stock.  I ink blended the background using two shades of pink distress inks.  I colored the cute little birds with Copic makers and stamped my sentiment on a Banner.  I added a few clear solid sequins to finish the card.

    Thanks for stopping by!

    Slimline Foliage Frame

Hello Friends Waleska here, to share with you a Slimline card with the new Foliage Frame die!!!  I love this new Slimline version of the old design we had it is super versatile and gives a very elegant look to any card you make.

    CARD DETAILS:

To create this card I started by cutting from  watercolor paper the Slimline Foliage Frame and with Oxide Ink Sprays spray and smooshed the color to create the splash detail.  I used Blueprint Sketch and Cracked Pistachio.

I set aside this panel to dry and started with my card base, I wanted a soft color but bright enough to pop on the foliage background.  I masked a white card base so that the ink blended background was only inside the frame, and ink blend Twisted Citron Oxide ink.  I also put some color splashes of water mixed with the same inks I used before.  I added gold watercolor splashes too,

I then put 3D Foam to raise the Foliage Frame to the card base and adhere it. I cut another panel of the die, but this time on gold cardstock and cut some of the foliage to tuck inside the frame for a gold look.

I finish by adding the Thanks die cut from the Give Thanks word die by Kat, I only used the thanks die in the middle of the card.  I used a Kraft card base and added some sequins here and there for some sparkle.

I hope you like my card today! Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you can be inspired to create with all this amazing new dies and remember to Stay Safe and Stay Crafty!
