    Sunspot Coverplate A2 Cards

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I have 2 cards to share with you using the new Sunspot Coverplate die, Happy Day Stamps and Rhinestones. Both are similar but one is using the ink blending in strips and the other is ink blended in circles. Below you will find the steps to create your own cards.

    Card 1

    Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/4” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim Black Cardstock to 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”. Adhere to card front using Bearly Art Precision Glue.

Step 3 – Trim White Cardstock to 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”. Apply Distress Oxide Ink in rainbow order. I used Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Broken China, Wilted Violet. Optional: Spray the background using Shimmer Spritz. Let dry.

Step 4 – Diecut Sunspot Coverplate using the panel created in Step 3. Adhere to card front using Bearly Art Precision Glue.

Step 5 – Stamp Happy Day using Versamark to the center of the circle. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and remove the excess. Heat Set it with a Heat Tool.

Step 6 – Stamp Happy Day using Versafine Onyx Black Ink on White Cardstock. Trim the sentiment and adhere to card using Bearly Art Precision Glue.

Step 7 – Adhere Rhinestone’s in colors Royal Purple and Blue Diamond to the dots closest to the center by alternating the colors.

    Card 2

    Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/4” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Cardstock to 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”. Apply Distress Oxide Ink in circles. I used Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Broken China, Wilted Violet, Candied Apple. Optional: Spray the background using White Iridescent Spray. Let dry.

Step 3 – Diecut Sunspot Coverplate using the panel created in Step 2. Adhere to card front using Bearly Art Precision Glue.

Step 4 – Stamp Happy Day using Versafine Onyx Black Ink to the center of the circle.

Step 5 – Stamp Happy Day using Versamark on Black Cardstock. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and remove the excess. Heat Set it with a Heat Tool. Trim the sentiment and adhere to card using Bearly Art Precision Glue.

    Mini Slimline cards Brayer Technique

    Hello everyone!

It’s Donna here sharing a couple of mini slimline card using the newly released “Happy Anniversary” and “Thinking of You” word dies with shadow. Have you seen all the new “word” dies with shadow Kat Scrappiness just released? If not, you can find them all here.
The technique I am sharing today is using a brayer to add ink to an embossing folder.  I am using the Gracious Leaves 3d Embossing Folder By Memory Box.  You can find this in the Kat Scrappiness store here.
Here is how I created my cards:
    • Card base is Kat Scrappiness  Mini Slimline Card set, which measures 7” x 6”, score at 3 1/2”.
    • Top layer is cut using the Kat Scrappiness Double Stitched Mini Slimline Dies.
    • Open the embossing folder and apply ink to the brayer.
    • Brayer ink on the inside front of the embossing folder (the raised part).
    • Insert white cardstock in the folder, close and run through die cutting machine.
    • Add embossed layer to the card.
    • Die cut “Happy Anniversary” word die with shadow in black cardstock and the shadow with vellum.
    • Finished the card off by using the KS Crystal AB  Rhinestone Mix.
    • Open the embossing folder and apply ink to the brayer.
    • Brayer ink on the inside back side of the embossing folder (the debossed side).
    • Insert white cardstock in the folder, close and run it through your die cutting machine.
    • Add embossed layer to the card.
    • Die cut “Thinking of You” word die with shadow in black cardstock and the shadow with vellum.
    • Finished the card off by using the KS Deep Emerald Rhinestone Mix.
I love how these cards turned out, they would make a nice gift set of four, for someone special.

Thank you so much for stopping by, please visit Kat Scrappiness blog for more inspiration.

Celebrating a July Birthday in Style!

Hi Everyone! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. There’s something celebratory about any July birthday … and I’m not saying this because I have a birthday this month myself. LOL!  July is the heart of summer and starts off literally with a “bang” with firework displays all over the USA. So how appropriate to send a friend with a July birthday a card that celebrates their special day with fireworks!

To create this slimline card, I used several products from Kat Scrappiness, including the newly released Happy Day Stamp Set and Diamond Rhinestone Mix, plus the Slimline Layered Cityscape Dies.

The Happy Day Stamp Set allows you to mix and match the words to create the perfect sentiments for your projects. In fact, I had initially made this card as a  “4th of July” card for the Kat Scrappiness “July Release” blog post, but because of the versatility of the Happy Day sentiments, I could recreate it and swap out “Happy 4th of July” as seen in this card:

… for “Happy Birthday” in this card below:

To create this card, I started with a slimline card base (8.5″ x 7″, scored at 3.5″) and stenciled some fireworks using red and gold embossing pastes on a navy card stock layer. I then adhered the Cityscape Slimline die layers over this along with several of the new Diamond Rhinestones. Finally, I stamped “Happy Birthday” on a strip of gold card stock and adhered it to the bottom right hand corner of the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Don’t forget to check out what’s NEW in Kat’s Shop, and follow my blog and Instagram for more “Kat Scrappiness Amazingness”!

    Stay Safe . . .
