    		 My name is Yvette Olea of Yvette Olea Creates. I have been a crafter for most of my life and have dabbled in many different crafts, such as crochet, cross stitch, scrapbooking, card making and so much more. I was blessed to be raised by two loving parents and I credit them with making me the strong and loving woman that I am. I live with the love of my life in San Diego, CA. I am the mother of four amazing children and grandmother of ten wonderful grandchildren. I am now retired and have begun spending much more time being creative.  I have always loved making/giving handmade items and have focused my newfound time and energy on making cards and other handmade crafts. I love to play with patterned paper to make handmade cards as well as so many other paper crafting projects. It makes my heart happy to give to others and to see the genuine joy in their faces when they receive a handmade gift.

    I am so honored to be an instructor for the first Kat Scrappiness virtual retreat. Being a part of such a creative group of instructors is so exciting. I usually have most of my holiday shopping done early and spend my birthday doing all the gift wrapping, but inevitably I forget about the stocking stuffers. This is when I head to my craft room and get busy making some last minute goodies for all the stockings in my house. I’m excited to show you how to make a few quick and easy stocking stuffers with minimal supplies.

    Hello I’m Von Marie and I’m from CA. I’m married with 2 children and a fur daughter.  I have been crafting for quite awhile now since before my daughter was born and she will be 12.  Cardmaking brings me so much joy.  I love to color.  My favorite medium is alcohol markers, but I do enjoy painting just as much.  Critters make me happy.  Papers, stamps, and dies make me happy too.  Crafting helps me relax and I enjoy sharing how I make my projects. There is just so many things that inspire me.

    In my house at the holidays I try to keep each person’s gifts with the same papers or colors for ease in that holiday rush of giving the presents out. We are going to create some very quick and easy tags with one color scheme so you will know at a glance which person the gift is for! Of course they can be used for any gift giving so the design is very versatile! I will also show you how to create these both with and without any special tag dies!

    I love giving gift cards for the holidays. Most of my family and friends don’t want more “things” so I give gift cards for experiences we can share together. The real gift is my handmade card and the time we spend enjoying each other’s company.

    I’m Sara Lihz, and I love crafting. My first creative love was poetry, but when I began my career as a college English professor, I found I needed an artistic outlet that offered more of a retreat from work.
    ​
    I began experimenting with mixed media and cardmaking in 2009. But it wasn’t until 2021, after a year of giving up my craft room to make a work-at-home office for my amazing husband that I realized how important card-making was to me. When Mark noticed I was sneaking into the office anytime he wasn’t there so I could make things, he came up with a new solution, bought me a Gemini Jr. and helped me reclaim part of my myself that had I lost somewhere between having two children and surviving the pandemic while teaching college students from my kitchen table.
