    Creating a Postcard Beach Scene

Hello, everyone! Are you ready for summer?? I got inspired with this fun postcard beach scene. For all the details, make sure to watch the video on the Kat Scrappiness channel.

Let’s start with some ink blending. I used distress oxide inks in antique linen, tea dye, salty ocean and tumbled glass to create the base of the scene.

Next, I added depth and interest with copic markers. For the sand, I used E11 and E33. The ocean was highlighted with B24 and B28. Last, I added white gel pen dots.

Next, I used the postcard die to emboss lines on the panel. Then, I stamped and colored the images from the Summer Gnome stamp set. Last, I added the sentiment and the images.

    Island Escape

Good Day to all you happy crafters,

Today’s card is all about the use of an Add-on Stamp Set. Kat Scrappiness has added these fun add on Stamps to go along with the Summer Gnome Stamp Set. This does not mean we must use them together, I often like to use stamps in ways other then the obvious.

I started by creating the background for the card. Using a layer 1, l stamped clouds and birds on the top half. Next I cut a half circle in brown to form an island and added some brown splatter to the island. Next I used the Kat Scrappiness Wave die to cut out many waves in various shades of sea blue card stock to make the ocean.

I stamped the shells and sand castle from the add on set to place on the island. I stamped the sentiment onto a banner to match the card base. I decided to add a thin blue frame to high lite the island. Finally I added a few sequins to complete the card.

  • What’s Up, Gnomie?

    What’s Up, Gnomie?

Happy Friday everyone – we made it through another week!

Today I have a fun card using a couple of the new slimline dies and gnome stamps from Kat Scrappiness.

I started by die cutting with the largest Wonky Stitched Slimline die set from white card stock and both of the Stitched Slimline Hills dies from brown card stock.  I then blended the die cuts with distress inks.  I then stamped images from the Summer Gnomes and Add-Ons sets and colored the images with Copic markers.  I adhered all the die cuts and images to my slimline yellow card base.

I stamped my sentiment from the Summer Gnome stamp set and added a Hot Pink Heart sprinkle and a few clear sequins to finish the card.

    Thanks for stopping by!

    What’s Up, Gnomie?

If you haven’t seen the newest Kat Scrappiness Release, you’re in for a real treat!  Today I’m sharing a few projects featuring a couple of the newest goodies…

    Summer Gnome Stamp Set

    Summer Gnome Add-on Stamp Set

For my first card above, I cut yellow cardstock with one of the Stitched Scallop Nesting Slimline Dies then light blue cardstock with one of the Embossed Edge Nesting Slimline Dies.  To create the scene, I cut some thin cork to look like sand, cut blue cardstock with one of the Waves Border Dies then colored and cut out the adorable images from the Summer Gnome set. For the sun, I used one of the shaker shapes in the Two Small Splat Star Shaker Card Kit and colored the sun with marker and filled the shaker with Yellow Party Confetti

Here’s another scene created on an A2 cardbase using the Summer Gnome Stamp Set, Summer Gnome Add-on Stamp Set and the Waves Border Dies.

And lastly in case you missed it,  I created this card for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog hop using Summer Gnome Stamp Set, the starfish from the Summer Gnome Add-on Stamp Set and Layered Coffee Cup Die.

  • Gnomes in the Sun

    Gnomes in the Sun

Today I am sharing a scene card using the Kat Scrappiness “Summer Gnomes” Stamp Set and “Embossed Edge Circle” dies. I hope you all enjoy making scene cards as much as I do.

I started by stamping and cutting out the focal images. Next I colored the images using Copic markers.

I blended a layer of sand and a layer of water. Using the Kat Scrappiness “wave boarder” dies I cut strips of waves. I attached the water to the sand and arranged the gnomes onto the beach scene. Using the “Embossed Edge Circle” dies I cut out the scene.

I stamped the sentiment and cut layers of card stock to finish the card.

The final step is to assemble all the layers and pieces. At this point I decided to add a few circle and sequins to complete the card. I found this stamp set to be a lot of fun.
