  • September Release Recap with Caren

How did you like the September release?  What was your favorite product?  I loved all the new Halloween sprinkles!

Here is a closer look at the cards I created for this release.

I’ll start with my favorite.  I created the black frame by using the new Neverending Slimline dies.  I took the two largest dies in the set and taped them together to give me a nice even frame, then ran it thru my die cut machine.  I added a piece of Kat Scrappiness’s slimline sized acetate sheets to the back of my frame and added foam tape around it to set up for a shaker card.  I filled the card with the following sprinkles – Pick Your Poison, Silver Starlights, Lime Green Confetti sprinkles, Orange Confetti sprinkles, and Dark Purple Confetti sprinkles.

I added the panel to a white card base.  Then adhered three colors classes and a banner with my I’ve Got Boos sentiment.

My second card uses the Foliage Frame Slimline die cut out of black card stock.  I used the condensed lowercase alphabet dies to cut out the word boo.  I cut it out of orange patterned paper and out of black card stock.  I layered these together to give a bit of dimension to the letters.  I adhered the frame, ghosts from my stash, and the boo sentiment to my card base that I covered in green pattern paper.  To finish the card, I added a few sequins and ghosts from the Boo-Tackular sequin mix.

My third card is another Halloween shaker card.  I used the Chevron Slimline die on two patterned papers – orange dots and black dots.  In then inlaid the black dot pieces into the orange frame.  The shaker part was pumpkin dies from my stash and I added sequins from the Bewitched mix.  I added this to a purple card base and die cut my Trick or Treat sentiment from the same purple paper.  I finished the card by adding a few purple sequins from the Going Batty Halloween mix.

My last card is a non-Halloween card using the Wood Grain Framed Diamond Wire Slimline die cut from white card stock.  I ink blended the background using two shades of pink distress inks.  I colored the cute little birds with Copic makers and stamped my sentiment on a Banner.  I added a few clear solid sequins to finish the card.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  • Merry Christmas Gnomies!

    Merry Christmas Gnomies!

Happy Labor Day to everyone in the US.  I plan on spending the day at the pool probably for the last time this summer.  I’m ready for the cooler weather!

Today I have a Christmas card using the Christmas Gnome stamp set.  I colored my cute little gnome with Copic markers and cut it out with my Silhouette.  I found some cute patterned paper in my stash that matched perfectly with my colored gnome.  I die cut my patterned paper with the Zig Zag Rectangle dies and adhered it to my card base.

On my stitched arch die cut, I used a stencil with Mermaid Lagoon distress ink and stamped my sentiment from the Christmas Gnome stamp set.  I adhered this to my card base and popped up my santa with dimensional adhesive.  I added a few Falling Snow sprinkles.

Be sure to check back at the end of the week for a new release!

  • Balloon Shaker

    Balloon Shaker

    Hi friends,

Thought I would make a quick card today. So I naturally turned to one of the Kat Scrappiness shaker kits. These kits are so much fun to create with and she has so many designs to choose. There is certainly one that would fit whatever occasion for which you are creating.

I started by painting the boarders of the shaker image. Next I filled the shaker with several different colors of Kat Scrappiness sprinkles. Once this was completed all I had left was to create the background.

I die cut circles in various sizes and colors. I arranged them onto a card base. I added a thin frame to add a layering look.

I added paint splatter to the card background. Then I attached the shaker, a bow and a sentiment to complete this simple and easy card.

  • Crafty Rainbow Slimline

    Crafty Rainbow Slimline

Hey, Crafty Friends!   Rainbows just make me happy – whether when I see the real thing after a storm or when I create one in my craft room!  My card today was so much fun to put together using lots of Kat Scrappiness goodies!

For my slimline card, I first layered a black stripe pattern paper to the card base.  I cut silver glitter cardstock using one of the Zig Zag Nesting Slimline dies for a touch of shimmer.

To create the shaker panel, I cut black cardstock with one of the Cross Stitch Nesting dies then cut out the center with one of the Embossed Edge Nesting dies.  I adhered a Slimline Acetate sheet to the back then adhered small strips of black cardstock to form ‘sections’.  On the black strips and all around the Cross Stitch frame, I placed thin foam adhesive strips and then filled in the sections with lots of different sprinkle embellishments (see thumbnails below for all the sprinkles I used).  I then adhered color cardstock to enclose the sprinkles.

These adorable ‘crafty’ images are from Gina K Designs Crafty Notes stamp set which I copic colored and popped up with 3D Foam Squares.

  • Hello Slimline Shaker Card

    Hello Slimline Shaker Card

    Happy Friday everyone!

Today I have a fun slimline shaker card to share with you.

For the shaker portion of my card, I used one of the Tri-Frame slimline dies and the Kat’s acetate sheets.  I filled the shaker part with Little Ladybug sprinkles, Red Confetti sprinkles, Happy Mail sprinkles, and mirrored clear heart sequins.  I cut a panel from black and white plaid paper using one of the Double Stitched slimline dies and layered this panel on red and black panels.

I adhered all the panels and the shaker portion to my white card base.  I then used a hello die from my stash, and die cut it from red and holographic paper.  I also stamped and fussy cut two envelopes from red patterned paper.  I glued these pieces directly on the acetate of the shaker card.

I just love shaker cards, they are so fun.  Do you guys like making shaker cards?

    Thanks for stopping by!

  • Shaker Balloons

    Shaker Balloons

Hello Friends craftinglovew here with a couple of shaker cards I want to share with you!  They look great and I used a bunch of Kat Scrappiness products!

I love all Kat Scrappiness Embellishments so today I decided to use a lot of them together.  I started by cuting my card base from the Stitched Postal Stamped Edge Rectangle die (one of my very favorites) I used a cloud stencil to do the clouds and Oxide Ink Tumbled Glass I cut 5 balloons and adhere them together to form the shaker, I glue the acetate to the first layer I added lots of embellishments in varios colors.

To add  the sentiment I used the Happy Easter die but I cut only the Happy and stack five happy sentiments for dimention I glue the two balloons to the front of the card and also added some glitter for more sparkle!  This cards are so much fun to make and fun to give people really like the shaker material!! I finish by adding a sentiment on a white strip with versamark ink.

I did exactly the same with my second card but this time I did it on a more patriotic theme I used blues and reds for this one and I used the new Old Glory Sprinkles.

Thank you so much for joining me today to create this fun cards!

    Have a great Day!!!

    Hello fellow crafters,

I wanted to share this shaker card I made, I tried something new for me. I am using Kat Scrappiness sprinkles that I find so colorful that I wanted to ensure they were showcased in the best way. I decided to make a see through card so the fill was visible from the front and the back.

I started by making my layered frame. This frame had to be made twice so it looked great from the back also.

I determined the size of the frame based on a standard 5×7 card. I used acetate behind each frame to form the “bread” part of this shaker sandwich I was creating. Next I cut fun foam to fit between the frames to form the shaker space. I used two layers of the foam to give the sprinkles enough room to move.

Using glue I assembled the layers. I filled the inside with many different colors of candy sprinkles then glued the top on.

Next I die cut the sentiment using the Kat Scrappiness Hooray die and Shadow. Before attaching this sentiment to the front window I wrote a message to the recipient on the back of it so it could be read through the back. I embossed a sub sentiment on black and attached under the die cut.

I think this made a fun card.  I hope you try making one too. The sentiment dies from Kat Scrappiness all work well with this type card so give it a go.

Supplies: KS candy sprinkles – green, purple, blue, yellow, hot pink and candy explosion sprinkles

  • Celebrate!

    Celebrate!

Our celebrations may look a little different right now, but we can still send fun cards for birthdays, anniversaries, milestones and more!  Shaker kits and sprinkles from Kat Scrappiness are perfect for sending a party in an envelope!

For my card, I adhered a piece of dark brown cardstock onto the card base then layered a pattern paper from Honey Bee Over The Rainbow pad.  The shaker element was created using the Balloon Shaker Card Kit and Cupcake, Soft Pink, Brown and Green Sprinkles.

I painted the outer balloon shape and let it dry.  Then, adhered the acetate piece to the back of the balloon shape, filled it with the sprinkles, then adhered a pattern paper from the Over The Rainbow pad; trimming to the edge of the balloon.  I added the unicorn image…but almost any image would have worked and then stamped the sentiment from Concord & 9th Birthday Basics Turnabout set.

  • Hello Beautiful

    Hello Beautiful

Hi everyone, hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.  I had to go into a store yesterday for the first time in six weeks, I wasn’t sure if I remembered how!

My card today features two things I’m obsessing over right now – slimline cards and rainbows.

I started by cutting strips of paper from a rainbow of colors in different sizes and glued them to a piece of white card stock.  I then die cut this using the largest Stitched Scalloped Slimline die. I backed this panel with a piece of black card stock that was slightly bigger.  I heat embossed my sentiment – Hello Beautiful – with Black ink and clear embossing powder and adhered this to my white card base.

To finish the card, I added a row of different colored confetti sprinkles in rainbow order above the sentiment.  The colors of confetti sprinkles I used are Hot Pink, Orange, Bright Yellow, Lime Green, Light Blue, and Dark Purple.

Did you see that Kat added new Slimline Envelopes to the store – currently she is offering them in White, Parcel Kraft, and Whip Cream.  Check them out here.

    Thanks for stopping by.
