  • Hello, My Crafty Friend

    Hello, My Crafty Friend

Hello, my crafty friends!  Life as we’ve known it has certainly changed. Thankfully, our desire to create stays the same and hopefully, you’ve had some time to craft!

See something exciting?  The NEW, Kat Scrappiness SLIMLINE DIES are here!!  For my card, I first used one of the new Stitched Scallop Nesting Slimline Dies and cut navy cardstock.  Using the Concord & 9th Crafty Turnabout stamp, I inked up the images on white cardstock then cut it using one of the Embossed Edge Nesting Slimline Dies.

To create a ‘subtle’ background, I cut vellum with one of the
Embossed Edge Nesting Slimline Dies and layered it over the stamped image.  The words were created with Kat Scrappiness Scripty “Hello My Crafty Friend” word dies!  How fun is that!

To add a touch of embellishment, I used Blue Heart Droplets, because I ran out of one of my favorites…Sparkling Clear Heart Droplets!

  • SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL!

    SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL!

Hey there Kat Scrappiness fans, It’s Lisa here with you on the blog today and we are going to

    SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL!

For those of you who don’t know, Kat Scrappiness has a HUGE assortment of

Sequins and Sprinkles and the collection has recently expanded!

Today I wanted to share 1 card and 3 tags with you using 7 different varieties

of sequins and sprinkles from the shop!

Look at those fun sequins and sprinkles!!  Honestly the possibilities are endless!

Let me show you what I made with those beauties!

The first project is a card I made for my Mom’s birthday.

She is a huge fan of cupcakes….. the cuter the better!

The Lawn Fawn Stitched Cupcake Dies were the perfect dies to use for her card.

The Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Square Dies were the perfect dies to create the
frame for this shaker tag. For the clear portion behind the frame I used the
Lawn Fawn Acetate Sheets. Once the frame was made I filled it with the
To complete the sentiment on my card I used the Sweet Word Sentiment Die.
I die cut it out of pink paper and backed it in another layer cut with brown
paper to give it a matted look and make it stand out more.

I loved adding the second layer on the cupcakes to make it look like the frosting

was dripping down.  My mom LOVED her card and I LOVED making it for her!

The next 3 projects are shaker tags that I made using more of the fun

sprinkles and sequins from the shop.

Since I couldn’t get enough of those cute Lawn Fawn Stitched Cupcake Dies,

I made a tag using the cupcake and I cut the frame out using some Doodlebug

patterned paper from the Stitched Scalloped Nesting Tag Dies.

I stamped the sentiment in pink and yellow ink from the Lawn Fawn Tiny Tag Sayings

stamp set inside my shaker tag. I love how the sentiments are hidden by the shaker bits

until you shake them out of the way!

For this shaker tag I used the Sweet Candy Sprinkles and the Cupcake Sprinkles to fill it up with.

I also added some Pink Solid Confetti Mix to the outside front of the shaker tag.

The last 2 tags I have to share with you are from a fun planner meet up that my daughter

Taylor hosted recently.  They decided to do a make and take project and thanks to

Mona Toth, I had the idea to dress up mini mason jar cups with a sweet shaker tag!

You can see Mona’s sweet project on Instagram here.

These sweet tags were made using the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies for the frame

and some vellum for the base.  To fill these 2 tags I used some glitter and Watermelon Sprinkles

on one and some Pink Flower Sprinkles in the other.

To decorate the fronts of these tags I used the Lawn Fawn “Flamingo Together” stamp set

and the Lawn Fawn Aloha Stamp and Die Set for the pineapple and sunglasses.

The girls had a great time making these tags and everybody took their creations home

to enjoy! Here is a link to the Instagram post with all of the pictures from the event.

Oh So Cute By Lisa Instagram

Here’s my little secret……. we had a very dear friend of Kat’s at our little meet up

to make a shaker tag and have some fun with us!

My second little secret is that Taylor made the second tag with

the Pink Flower Sprinkles and she had a lot of fun doing it!

All the girls had a blast using their very own mixture of different sequins and shakers!

WHEW! That was a long post with lots of pictures but I had so much to share

with you!  I hope I have inspired you to do a little

    SHAKING, RATTLING AND ROLLING YOURSELF!

There are certainly enough shaker bits to choose from in the Kat Scrappiness

store to make some fun and unique projects!

It also has the cutest little pouch stamp to put baby roo in.  It also contains some small sweet floral images to adorn your Kangaroo cards!

I thought it was only fitting to make a flip card for this new stamp set.

Here is a second picture with the inside of the front panel after it opens.

I followed a video on YouTube to make the basic mechanism for the flip part of the card.

I used the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies for the bottom panel of the card and the top panels were hand cut into layered rectangles.

I just love how this card came out and it’s so much fun to open and close.

Here is a short clip to show how the card works.

    Crafter’s Essentials Dies – Easter

I have to apologize that you will not see projects from me this week.  There was a major fiasco in New York and my package ended up getting shipped to the wrong person.  I still have not received it as I write this post.  However, as soon as I have them in my hands I will be posting videos on our YouTube channel to show you my projects, so please stay tuned.

Are you ready to get “wowed” by the design team?  Here are the AMAZING projects from the team:

    CAREN BARTHOLOMEW

Caren used some really cute patterned papers to die cut the basket, the bow and the grass hill from the Crafter’s Essentials – Easter dies set.  She die-cut the little chickie with some white card stock and colored it in with some Copic markers.  Caren also used the new Zigzag Rectangle dies and added the sentiment “Happy Easter”.  I love that she mixed and matched a couple of products from the shop.

    LISA GOLZBEIN

For Lisa’s first project, She stamped and colored the bunny, carrots and easter eggs and die-cut the same with the coordinating dies.  She inked up her background with some distress oxide inks and added the clouds to create her seen.  She die-cut the basket from the Crafter’s Essentials Easter dies set on brown patterned paper.  To finish her design, she added the little pop-up Happy Easter sentiment.

For Lisa’s second project, She die-cut the bunny from the Crafter’s Essentials Easter Dies three times on different patterned papers.  To make it more fun, she added the Bunny Tails Pom Pom from the shop.  She used a Polka dot embossing folder to dry emboss her white card stock and adhered this piece on blue patterned paper.  She adhered the three bunnies using foam tape, and added “Hello Spring” as her sentiment.

    PRISCILLA JOSEPH

For Priscilla’s first project, she used the Zig Zag Rectangle dies, Easter Egg Hunt Sequin Mix, the Black & White Heart Sprinkles, and the Bunny Tails White Pom-Poms.  She also added the easter eggs in pastel colors and use a grass border die to die-cut it in white.  I love that she added some googly eye to the bunny.

For Priscilla’s second project, she die-cut the bunny, bow, basket and butterflies using the  Crafter’s Essentials Easter dies set.  She also used the Spring Fling 6×6 paper pack from Echo Park and Easter Egg Hunt Sequin Mix.

    TINA DORNBAUM

For Tina’s first card, she created this BEAUTIFUL pastel-themed background.  She die-cut the little chickie and the egg shell using the Crafter’s Essentials Dies set and colored the chick with alcohol marker.  She added some white jewels to embellish and finish her card design.

For Tina’s second card, she used a brick stencil from her stash and inked up her background with some distress oxide inks.  She die-cut the basket, bow and bunny using the Crafter’s Essentials Easter Dies set.  She added some flowers and leaves and stamped “Happy Easter” to finish her design.  I absolutely LOVE this card!

  • Watercolor Mandala Card with Video

    Watercolor Mandala Card with Video

Good morning Kat Scrappiness fans, it’s Lisa here with you today

and I have a card I’d like to share with you using one of the newest dies in the store!

It’s called the Mandala die and it cuts a beautiful intricate pattern

into your project. Today I’ve used a water coloring technique called ink smooshing

    (yes it’s a thing)?

I used 3 different color distress inks:

    Salty Ocean

    Peacock Feathers

    and

    Lucky Clover

This technique is easy and fun to do and you can get beautiful

results every time! There are so many color combinations you

could use depending on your favorite colors.

Here is a video I made to show you the ink smooshing technique.

You can watch it here or on YouTube.

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dPHZ6Q0wlU]

Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope you’ll give this technique a try! It’s lots of fun and it looks beautiful with minimal effort.  Don’t forget to use my code Lisa10 to save 10% on your order anytime!

  • ?Love Is In The Air?

    ?Love Is In The Air?

Happy New Year Kat Scrappiness Fans!

I want to wish you all a happy early Valentine’s Day as well

since this post will be centered around our new

    “Love” themed products!

There was recently 4 new products released in the shop and if you

haven’t seen them yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Kat Scrappiness just released 3 new dies and 1 new stamp set to help

get you in the Valentines mood!

Valentine’s Day has always been one of my favorite holidays

mostly because of the color scheme and pretty hearts.

I’ve always loved the decorations and the way the stores look

at this time of year.  It’s a wonderful sea of pink and hearts!

    ???????

I created 3 cards with the new products that I’ll share today and I have

some process pictures to share with you for one of them.

Here is the first card I made using the I LoveYou Shadow Dies

and I’ll share the process with you.

For this card I made my own background by ink blending

3 different distress inks in the following colors:

    Broken China

    Picked Raspberry

    and

    Twisted Citron

Even though I only used 3 colors it looks like so much more

because of the blending properties of the distress inks!

This is my favorite color combo right now and I

am reaching for them a lot!

Once I got the background blended just the way I wanted it

I pulled out a heart stencil from my stash and used it to

cover the background in soft white hearts.

I had an old makeup brush on hand that worked perfectly

    to apply the white ink.

After the hearts were stenciled in I hit the panel with my heat gun

so it wouldn’t smear in my Vagabond.

I used the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies to cut

out the panel for the front of my card.

The next step was to pick out colors that I wanted to die cut

the I Love You Shadow Dies out of.

I knew I wanted the shadow pieces to be black since

it makes the rainbow colors pop.

I decided on some sparkly pink paper for the actual words.

Once I adhered the words to their black shadows I popped them

all up on foam tape so they would really stand out on the card.

And of course I needed to add some Sparkling Clear Jewels to the card

    for some extra BLING!

I really love how this card turned out and I am planning on making a lot

more ink blended cards in the near future.

Here are all 3 cards that I made for the new release and I can tell there

will be a lot more LOVELY HEART cards very very soon!

As you can also see I used the ink blending technique on all 3 of

    these cards in different ways.

Thanks for stopping by today and letting me share my cards with you!

I am enjoying the new stamps and dies and I know you will too!

Please use my code Lisa10 to do some crafty shopping and

you can save 10% on your order.

Have a great day, I already am!
