    A Simple Mother’s Day Card

Hello Friends!! Nora here from the Kat Scrappiness Design Team with a Mother’s Day Card featuring the new Kat Scrappiness Spring Fling 6″ by 8″ Paper Pad that came out this month. I love that I was able to use this paper for my background and every part of my flower bunch.

    Card Details:

    • Cut a piece of white cardstock into an 8 1/2″ by 4 1/2″ and fold it at the top
    • Using the aqua piece of paper from the Spring Fling paper, cut it into a 5 1/2″ by 3 1/4″ piece and adhere it to the card front on the right side
    • Slice the striped paper from the paper pack into a 5 1/2″ by 1″ strip and adhere it to the left side of the card
    • Die cut tulips out of the two pink solid papers in the Spring Fling pad, the stems out of the green and the bow out of the polka dot paper using the Tulip Bouquet Die Set.
    • Shade the flowers and the stems with Copic Markers or dye ink that is similar in color to the papers to give them some dimension. Adhere the flower stem and the tulips to the card. Using foam adhesive, adhere the front of the flower over the bottom.

    • Adhere the bow onto the card front
    • Stamp the sentiment using the Happy Day Stamp Set onto three pieces of white cardstock. Adhere the strips randomly onto the card front.
    • The last step is to randomly glue pearls from the Sea Foam Pearl Mix on the card front.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by today. Be sure to pop back in later today for a NEW Kat Scrappiness shaker and stencil release. You don’t want to miss it!!

  • Mother’s Day Card for My Mom

Mother’s Day Card for My Mom

Hi Everyone, it’s Priscilla here. Today I want to share the card I made for my mom this Mother’s Day. Due to the pandemic, this was my first time ever mailing  her a Mother’s Day card rather than giving it to her in person at the Assisted Living Community where she lives in Connecticut.

Here’s a picture of my mom at 97 years young.

For this card, I used a Kat Scrappiness die from the shop, “Gift Bag,” one of Kat‘s “Cross Stitched Rectangle” dies, alphabet dies from my stash, and some brightly colored card stock.

Assembling this card was a cinch. After I die cut the gift bag and its handles from card stock, I die cut an opening in the bag with the “Cross Stitched Rectangle” die and inlaid “MOM” (tripled layered for greater dimension) inside the rectangular opening.

I created a “gift card” with coordinating card stock and slipped it inside the pre-cut slot and then adhered the handles at the top. I finished the card with the “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment from the new “Koala-ty Time” stamp set. Finally, I adhered the finished gift bag to a white embossed “bead-board” layer before adhering that to a red A2 card base.

And finally, a photo of my Mom holding up this card during our Mother’s Day Sibling Zoom . ..

  • Happy Mother’s Day from Kat Scrappiness!

Happy Mother’s Day from Kat Scrappiness!

Hey Crafters! Priscilla here from the Kat ScrappinessDesign Team. Tomorrow is “Mother’s Day,” and I’ll be in Connecticut visiting  my 96 year old mother when this blog publishes. I wanted to share the card I made for her, which I will be hand delivering on Sunday.

This card features Kat‘s “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment die as well as her new “Layering Nested Heart” dies. These dies are designed to fit nicely inside Kat‘s previous Heart dies, including the one you see in the photo, the Zig-Zag Heart die.

I added three different alcohol pearl inks to some Yupo paper and blended them with alcohol ink blending solution. After the Yupo paper had thoroughly dried, I ran it through my Big Shot first to cut out the Zig-Zag heart shape, and then, using one of the “Layering Nested Hearts” dies, cut out an opening for a shaker card. I filled the inside of the heart with Kat‘s “Mixed Heart Sprinkles,” before sealing it. I also sprinkled some more of the hearts on the front of the card, which I die cut from the largest of the “Cross Stitched Rectangle” dies.

For my second card, I used just a “Layering Nested Hearts” die this time to cut a heart out of a piece of washi tape-covered card stock.

The four smaller hearts are also from that same “Layering Nested Hearts” die set. Again the Kat ScrappinessHappy Mother’s Day” die sentiment makes a bold statement on the front of the card. The ruffled layer was created from a Stampin’ Up embossing folder.

My third Mother’s Day card first appeared in my recent 2019 Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop post.  It features a Penny Black stamp called “Cup of Java” and Kat‘s “Happy Mother’s Day” die sentiment. Click on the link to read more about this card.

Well, that’s all for today. See you again soon!

  • Mother’s Day cards featuring Stitched Flags Dies by Kat Scrappiness

    1. Hello crafty friends!! I hope that everybody enjoyed and had a fabulous Mother’s Day! I am up on the Kat Scrappiness blog today and wanted to share two cards that I had created for Mother’s Day using some amazing Kat Scrappiness products, including one of our newest dies just released this month, the Stitched Flags Dies.  What an amazing and versatile die set this is. The Stitched Flag die set comes complete with seven flag dies all in different sizes, allowing endless possibilities for all of your crafting needs.

To begin, I die cut several flags using four different sized flag dies from the newly released Stitched Flag Die Set by Kat Scrappiness. I also die cut the words, “Mom” and “Aunt” using the Uppercase Condensed Alphabet Dies by Kat Scrappiness.

To make the process of adding each flag to my card, I ran each one through my Xyron sticker maker to ensure that the back side of each flag was completely covered with adhesive.

Next I began to adhere the flags in a pattern.  I started off by placing the first flag in the center of the card and continued adding the remaining flags, from the center outwards towards the end of the card, making sure that the edge of each flag was inline with the top crease of the card and the tails of each flag met slightly.

I then started placing the next layer of flags over the first layer, overlapping in them so that you could still see some of the pattern on the flags. These flags ended up overlapping the edges of my card. I used scissors to cut off the excess.

I continued in this manner, placing the flags over the previous layers going from largest to smallest.

Once my flags were completely adhered, I added the words, “Mom and “Aunt” to each card. To finish off each card, I added some of the 3mm Peach Solid Heart Confetti from Kat Scrappiness to each. I put a single heart on each of the smallest green flags and also added some to a few of the letters just to bring it all together.

And that now completes my Mother’s Day cards. I hope that you enjoyed this quick Mother’s Day card tutorial. You can find a list of all the materials used in these projects down below.
