  • A Valentine’s Day Card

    A Valentine’s Day Card

    Hello my fellow crafters.

Nora here with a Valentine’s Day card that features some of the NEW product from Kat Scrappiness. I combined stamps, die cuts and sprinkles to create my fun shaker card. I especially like the new Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Foliage Frame Die. I used it here with some heart “flowers” that I die cut using the smallest heart die from KS Heart Donut Builder Dies.

Here is how I created this card:

    • Cut the white, Mini Slimline card base into a 6″ by 7″ piece. Using the Kat Scrappiness Teflon Bone Folder, score core at 3 1/2″ so that your card is 6″ by 3 1/2″
    • I used the outline heart from the Say it With Hearts stamp set to stamp read hearts over the front of the white card base.
    • With the  Mini Slimline Foliage Frame Die, die cut the leaves out of white cardstock. Ink blend the entire die cut with two shades of green ink. On the back of the foliage frame, adhere a Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Acetate Sheet.
    • While the acetate is drying, use the smallest heart die from the Heart Donut Builder Dies to die cut 25 hearts from red cardstock
    • Line the dried frame with foam adhesive. Add sixteen of the red paper hearts and some Kat Scrappiness Kisses Sprinkles in the middle of the white card base. Adhere the Mini Slimline Foliage Frame over the top of the card base to create your shaker.
    • Using a piece of the red pattern paper from the new Spectrum of Love Slimline Paper Pack, die cut the sentiment out with the new Kat Scrappiness You Complete Me w/Shadow die three times. Adhere each of these three sentiments together. Then glue them to the front of the card, as shown.
    • Adhere the remaining hearts to the card front using foam adhesive.
    • To finish off the card, add some sparkle to the hearts and the sentiment with a Spectrum Clear Sparkle Marker.

    Fur Baby Love

Hello and welcome to the Kat Scrappiness blog! It’s Lisa from Oh So Cute By Lisa and I have a card for all you animal lovers out there! If you haven’t noticed slimline dies are all the rage right now and Kat Scrappiness is now carrying a wide variety of slimline dies with some very unique styles!  I used 2 of the newest slimline dies for my card.

I started out with a card base of 8 1/2″ x 7″ and scored it 3 1/2″. The next layer is the largest die from the Stitched Scalloped Nesting Slimline Dies and it is cut from kraft card stock. The top layer is cut from white card stock using the 2nd largest die from the Embossed Edge Nesting Slimline Dies.

For the main focal point on my card I used the word dies and the pawprint die from the Pet Sentiments Dies. I filled the pawprints with some patterned
paper I made myself using a stencil.

To finish off my card I added these 3 fun sprinkles
around the words and the pawprints:

I’m really happy with how this card came out and I just love the
paw prints in the WOOF and MEOW dies!

  • Look For Rainbows

    Look For Rainbows

Hi and welcome back to the Kat Scrappiness blog. It’s Lisa here today from Oh So Cute By Lisa and I have a fun rainbow card to share with all of you using lots of goodies from Kat Scrappiness!

Rainbows and shakers are two of my favorite things so I love to create them any chance I get.

I started out by using a raindrop stencil from my stash that is similar to the Newton’s Nook Raindrops Stencil and some vibrant rainbow colored inks. I used a piece of Bristol Smooth card stock and a mini blending tool and then I ink blended in rainbow order over the raindrops.

Once I had the ink blending done I took my panel and cut out a smaller panel using the largest die from the Stitched Postage Stamp Edge Rectangle Dies from Kat’s store.

Next I took the smaller cloud die from the He Is Risen Dies and I placed it in 3 different places on the raindrop panel and cut it out so I could make 3 different shaker wells on the front of my card.

I turned the panel over and covered it with a piece of acetate making sure to cover the open cloud areas. To pop the panel up and create the shaker wells, I used foam tape to section off the clouds and pop the whole panel up. Now the fun part! I filled all 3 shaker wells with some fun Rainbow Bright Sprinkles! I covered the backs of the clouds with white card stock and then matted the whole panel on to a purple panel measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

I then placed the finished panel on to a white card base.

For the sentiment I used Versafine Black Onyx ink which is my go to black ink and I love how crisp it stamps! I also used some Sparkling Clear Droplets around the finished card to add some extra shine!

For one extra fun added element I used the Rainbow made of polymer clay that is included in the

Teal Kawaii Cloud Sprinkles. What a fun element to add to any card!

This card is just all full of color and whimsy and I love how it turned out!

Kat Scrappiness is definitely your go to shop for all things shaker related!

There are literally hundreds of different sequins and sprinkles in stock to fit any theme card or any style card you can dream of! From food to animals to jewels, Kat has you covered!

  • Creating Ornaments using Kat Scrappiness Shaker Card Kits

Creating Ornaments using Kat Scrappiness Shaker Card Kits

Hi Everyone, it’s Priscilla here. Today I will be showing you some fun ornaments I made using four different “Shaker Card Kits” from Kat Scrappiness.

Although I am showing them today as tree ornaments, note that any of them can be adhered to an A2 card front. Just add a sentiment, and you’ll have yourself a finished holiday card!

Here’s a quick review of what these Shaker Card Kits include as described on the Kat Scrappiness “Shop” page:

    • Shaker Element Shape Base (3mm thick)
    • Transparent film cut to fit the shape perfectly
    • Decorative Frame Overlay.

You can use the decorative frame overlay the way it is which is a milky white color or you can change the color  with any medium you choose such as ink, markers, watercolors, paints, etc.  Anything you can use on paper/cardstock, you can use to color your frame the color(s) you’d like.

When the shaker is completed the approximate height of the shaker portion is 5mm.

Let’s get started! My first shaker ornament was created using the “Winter Village Ornament Shaker Card Kit.”

I colored the outer ring with a C9 Copic Marker, and then painted the village scene with white acrylic paint. For the background I used an Echo Park Christmas patterned paper and filled the shaker with Kat’s “White Snowflake Sprinkles.”  As I will do for all four ornaments, I attached a handmade embellishment at the top using a hot glue gun.

I used the “Cardinal Bird Ornament Shaker Card Kit” for my second ornament.

I painted the frame overlay with red acrylic paint and used a patterned paper from PhotoPlay’s “Kringle & Co.” paper pad for the background. For the shaker element, I combined Kat‘s “White Snowflake Sprinkles” and “Red Jewels.”

For my third ornament, I used the “Snowflake Ornament Shaker Card Kit.

I painted the frame overlay with white acrylic paint and used a black and white checked paper, again from the PhotoPlay’s “Kringle & Co.” paper pad, for the background. Kat’s “Christmas Red Sequins” provide the “shake.”

My final ornament  features  Kat‘s “Ornate Christmas Ornament Shaker Card Kit.”

I painted this frame overlay with silver acrylic paint and used a red and black checked paper from the same PhotoPlay’s“Kringle & Co.” paper pad.  Inside the shaker ornament, I adhered several of Kat‘s “Sparkling Clear Jewels.”
