Adding Details to Your Die Cuts Using the NEW Summer Vibes Paper

Hi, this is Nicki from the design team! Today we are going to look at many of the new summer release products. We will make a die cut card with lots of extra details! For all the details, make sure to check out the YouTube video.

First, I cut several different colors of popsicles from the new Summer Vibes paper pad. Next, I used liquid adhesive to the top of each popsicle and added an iridescent glitter.

After the glitter dried, I cut the popsicle so that I could add different colors to the bottom. I also ink blended with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink to create the popsicle sticks.

Once I had all these pieces glued together, it was time to create the background for the card. I used 2 papers from the Summer Vibes Paper Pack and the A2 Reverse Scallop die to create the look.

All that was left, was to add some foam tape to the back of the popsicles and die cut the word “Hi” for the sentiment.

Happy Summer-Kat Scrappiness Summer Vibes Release

Hi All! I am up on the Kat Scrappiness Blog today with some inspiration from the Summer Release. This card features the A2 Quilted Back Drop Die and the Summer Vibes Paper Pack as well as some other cute products for summer. So let’s make a card.

Card Supplies
Card Details
- Cut, score and fold an A2 side folding card base.
- With a piece of Neenah white card stock and the A2 Quilted Backdrop Die, run this through your die-cutting machine.
- Ink blend a scrap piece of with card stock using the inks listed above.
- Die-cut the Happy Summer three times from the ink blended panel. I also cut 3 additional pieces from white card stock. I glued these to the back of what will be the middle sentiment. This adds dimension.
- Use liquid glue and adhere the sentiments on top of the quilted panel. Use a T-Square for alignment.
- Glue the entire panel to the card base with a strong liquid glue.
- Stamp your quokka image TWICE. Stamp it once onto white card stock and again on your selected pattern paper from the Summer Vibes pack.
- Fussy cut the surfboard from the patterned paper.
- Color your white quokka image with colored pencils or alcohol markers.
- Die-cut your colored quokka.
- Adhere the surfboard on top.
- Add foam tape to the back of the quokka and add it to your card.

A Stitched Foliage Hello Card
Hello my friends! Nora here on the blog with a simple card combining some old and new supplies from the Kats Scrappiness Shop! I used the Kat Scrappiness exclusive Stitched Foliage Dies, Layered Bokeh Stencils and the A2 Frame Dies from the NEW RELEASE with a greeting from the pre-released KS Friendship Greetings Stamp Set and the Stitched Rope Nesting Circle Dies to create my simple card.

One thing I do for fun at work is to make card sketches when I am bored. My card was inspired by a sketch from one of my doodle sessions. I created a computerized version below for you to use too!

Card Details:
- On a piece of white, A2 sized cardstock, use the Kat Scrappiness Stencil and Ink Blending Brushes to blend Salvaged Patina Distress Ink across a portion of the bottom of the paper.
- Combine the new Kat Scrappiness Layered Bokeh Stencils with the same ink and stencil the circles over the area of the cardstock where the ink blending was done.
- Using the second largest frame from A2 Frame Dies, die cut a frame from the stenciled card stock.
- Adhere the frame onto an A2, top folding, white card front using foam adhesive. Adhere the stenciled rectangle that was left from the inside of the frame flat on the card front.
- Die cut two sets of leaves using the new Stitched Foliage Dies. Using the Salvaged Patina Distress Ink, lightly blend the color over the top of one set of leaves. Leave the other set white.
- Adhere the white leaf flat onto the card front in the left hand corner of the frame. Use foam adhesive to adhere the colored foliage.
- Stamp the hello sentiment with black ink onto white cardstock using the Friendship Greetings Stamp Set. Die cut the sentiment using the Stitched Rope Nesting Circle Dies.
- Use foam adhesive to adhere the circle sentiment to the bottom left corner of the card.
- Randomly place Kat Scrappiness Shades of Teal Enamel Dots to the cardfront.

Under The Sea Happy Birthday!
Hello crafty friends! Sammi here to show you a colorful card I made with the Life Under The Sea dies, the Embossed Edge Wavy Frame dies and the Layered Bubbles 6×6 stencils from the new release! Have you seen the new release yet? It is AMAZING! I love everything! You can never have enough birthday cards, so I decided to make this card a birthday card using the Happy from the Happy Fall w/ Shadow die and the Happy Day stamp set. Here is how I made this card:
1. First I cut out a frame with the Embossed Edge Wavy Frame dies (I cut out three frames and glued them together to add dimension) and ink blended the frame and middle piece with Distress Oxide inks. I then added the bubbles using the Layered Bubbles 6×6 stencil and Distress Oxide inks. I then glued the pieces onto a A2 cardbase with Bearly Art Glue.
2. I then cut out the Life Under the Sea pieces and ink blended them with Distress Oxide inks. I glued the bigger coral piece in one corner and glued a piece of seaweed in the other corner. I then popped the rest of the of pieces onto the card panel with foam tape.
3. I cut the Happy from the Happy Fall w/ shadow die three times and glued them together to add dimension. I then ink blended the Happy with Distress Oxide ink and glued it onto the card panel. I then stamped the birthday sentiment from the Happy Day stamp set and cut it down to a strip and edged it with some Distress Oxide ink and glued it onto the panel.
4. I then added some white splatter and some Unicorn Dual Color Pear Mix for my embellishments.
I love the look of this colorful card! I love tropical and sea life cards and these dies are perfect! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Happy Father’s Day!
Happy Sunday Crafty Friends! Priscilla here from the Kat Scrappiness Design Team.

Since today is Father’s Day, I thought I would share the Father’s Day card I sent to my son in Florida. He is “Dad” to two 10 year old twin boys.

I used many Kat Scrappiness products, including the Happy Father’s Day Word Die with Shadow, the Stitched Slimline Strips Dies, the A2 Quilted Backdrop Die, the Stitched Foliage Dies, and The Lumber Yard Slimline Paper Pad to make this card.

A little more info about the Stitched Slimline Strips Dies . . . Included in this set are 4 sets of strip dies (in threes )with stitched detail down the middle. So you get 12 strip dies cuts from one set! These dies are NOT specifically for slimline dies only . . . you can use them on any size card! For this card, I used the steps to create a background for my sentiment.

Card Details:
- Created an A2 top-folding white card base.
- Using the A2 Quilted Backdrop Die and white cardstock, created a “quilted” layer to adhere onto the card base.
- Die cut numerous strips using The Lumber Yard Slimline Paper Pad and the Stitched Slimline Strips Dies and adhered them diagonally onto a small piece of cardstock.
- Snipped off the ends of the strips that overhung the cardstock before adding this piece to the center of the quilted layer.
- Die cut a piece of foliage using the Stitched Foliages Dies and blue card stock and adhered it on the left side of the striped center layer.
- Die cut “Happy Father’s Day” out of black cardstock and the shadow out of vellum cardstock, and then adhered over the foliage on the front of the card.
- Added three pearls from the Blue Belle Pearl Mix collection for a finishing touch.

YAY It’s Your Birthday! Simple Die-Cut Card

Good Morning it’s Kathy with the Kat Scrappiness Design Team here! How is your weather today? It is bright and sunny here in Arizona so I thought I would share a bright and cheery birthday card featuring the fabulous Birthday Essentials Die set and the Condensed Lower Case Alpha dies from Kat Scrappiness. I had a fun background in my mixed media stash and combined with these beautiful products I think it makes for a cute card. Let me know what you think!

- Embossing Powder and Powder Tool
- Distress Oxides
- Round Gold Confetti
- Liquid Glue
- Foam Tape
- Die-cutting machine
- Misti Stamping Platform
- Paper Trimmer
card details
- Cut, score and fold an A2 side folding card base.
- Select a background panel you have in your stash that you want to use.
- Cut this panel to 4″ x 5.25″.
- Cut a border panel slightly smaller from white card stock. I have about a 1/8″ border.
- WIth scrap white card stock cut 8 pieces of the letter y, 4 of the letter a, and 4 of the balloon. Cut 1 of the balloon string.
- I used Distress Oxide Twisted Citron to ink my letters and the edge of my border panel.
- Glue the letters together and allow them to dry.
- Glue the balloons together and allow them to dry.
- Using your stamp platform (optional) stamp happy birthday from the Everyday Brushstroke stamp set.
- Use your anti-static powder tool and heat embossed with Versamark Ink and gold embossing powder.
- Use one of the Block Strips from Kat Scrappiness to cut the sentiment and then trim the ends.
- To assemble the card, glue the background to your border panel.
- Arrange and glue down your die-cut letters and balloon.
- Glue the sentiment down and add a bit of foam tape where it hangs off the die-cut letters.
- Glue down your confetti.
- Add foam tape to the back of the entire panel and adhere to your A2 card base.

You Guac My World
Hello KS fans! Maria Russell here on the blog with you today, sharing this cute Congrats Card, showcasing one of my favorite older KS stamp set called You Guac My World, along with the Double Stitched Rectangle Die Set, Congrats Word Die with Shadow, Stencil & Ink Blending Brushes, Fishtail Banner Dies and the Falling Stars 6×6 Stencil.

Here’s how I made the card:
- Prepare the background by ink-blending a panel of Neenah solar white card stock measuring 4 x 5 1/4 inches, using the Stencil & Ink Blending Brush with the Falling Stars 6×6 Stencil and pink dye ink.
- Using the same stencil, apply some Lime Chroma Glaze and Stencil Pal to spread the paste all over the background. Set this aside to let it dry for about 2 hours.
- Stamp the image on some Neenah solar white card stock and color the images in with alcohol markers. Use Brother Scan N Cut machine or precision snips to cut the image out.
- Once the background panel is dry, adhere the same on some A2-size notecard.
- Die-cut the pink frame using the Double Stitched Rectangle Die Set on some pink card stock.
- Foam-mount the frame on the card for added dimension.
- Die cut the word “Congrats” on some Apple Green and White card stock using the Congrats Word Die with Shadow. Adhere them together with liquid glue.
- Foam-mount the Congrats die-cut onto the card so that it is the same height with the frame.
- Adhere the focal image using foam adhesive.
- Add glossy accents to the Avocado image.
- Die-cut some Apple Green Card Stock using the smallest die from the Fishtail Banner Die Set. Stamp the sentiment on this piece with Versamark ink and heat-set with heating tool.
- Foam-mount the sentiment strip on the card to finish the design.

Thinking Of You Quokka
Happy Friday my crafty friends! Sammi here to show you a card I made using the Quokka’n Up and Valentine Quokkas stamp sets along with the new Falling Hearts stencil. I just love the polaroid looking stamp and die in the Quokka’n Up set, so I decided to showcase it in this card. Here is how I made the card:
1. Using the Mini Slimline Stitched Rope die, I cut out the card panel with white cardstock. Then, using the Falling Hearts stencil, I used Catherine Pooler inks and ink blended the hearts in different locations on the card panel. I moved the stencil around to get the hearts where I wanted them.
2. I then cut out the polaroid windows with the die from the Quokka’n Up die set and ink blended them like colors of the hearts from the previous step.
3. Using Memento black ink, I stamped out a quokka from both stamp sets and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I then colored them with Copic markers.
4. Using Bearly Art Glue, I glued the quokka’s inside the polaroid die and then popped them onto the card panel using foam tape.
5. I then stamped the Thinking of You from the Valentine Quokkas stamp set and heat embossed it onto black card stock with white embossing powder, after I treated my cardstock with the Kat Scrappiness embossing tool. I then popped the sentiment up with foam tape.
6. I then used some teal cardstock from my stash for a mat to the card panel and then glued the panel onto a mini slimline card base.
7. To finish the look, I added some embellishments from the Grape Pearl Mix and Ocean Blue Pearl Mix.
I love how this turned out and I LOVE these colors! This color combination is one of my favorite colors combos! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Sending Paper Hugs
Happy Thursday Crafty Friends! Priscilla here from the Kat Scrappiness Design Team. Today I am sharing a “crafty” encouragement card, perfect for a friend that is also a crafter like you! The card features Riley the Moose making a card for someone needing a “paper hug” right about now. Note that he is even working on a familiar glass media mat to make it!

I used the Kat Scrappiness Sending Paper Hugs Word Dies With Shadow, the Falling Hearts 6×6 Stencil, and Stamping Riley Cling Stamp by Riley & Co on today’s card.

Card Details:
- Created an A2 top-folding white card base.
- Stenciled a heart pattern background using the Kat Scrappiness Falling Hearts 6×6 Stencil on the front of the card using “Worn Lipstick” “Scattered Straw,” and “Salvaged Patina” Distress Oxide Inks.
- Die cut the sentiment and used the same 3 Distress Oxide Inks on it before adhering it to a vellum shadow.
- Stamp and fussy cut out “Stamping Riley” and colored him with Copic Markers.
- Created that familiar looking glass media mat using a white get pen over a black Copic colored mat.
- Created the “card” element by scoring a small rectangular piece of card stock, adding stenciled hearts on the inside and white heat embossed cursive handwriting on the outside.
- Adhered the sentiment, image, and card to the front of the card.
- Adhered three Teal Heart Sprinkles for a finishing touch.
