  • One more Christmas Card? Try this Quick & Easy Holiday Tutorial

    Hello, my crafty friends!

Angelique here, and yes… this is my last Christmas blog of the year.
If you are running a little late, or suddenly realize you are one or two Christmas cards short (we’ve all been there 😉), I have the perfect solution for you today!

This is a quick and easy handmade Christmas card, but still super fun to make.
It has a little bit of everything:
    – simple stenciling
    – patterned paper
    – a festive tag
    – and a cute die-cut image colored with alcohol markers

I used the fun Merry Grouchmas collection from Kat Scrappiness. It might sound like a lot, but I promise you, this card comes together really easily. So grab your crafty supplies and let’s get started. You’ve got this!

    📋 Card Details

This card was made as a 5×7 inch Christmas card, but it can easily be adapted to an A2 size.
That said… you will miss that lovely white border around the card, just saying.

Step 1 – Preparing the background pieces

I cut two pieces of Neenah Solar White cardstock, each about ½ inch smaller than a 5×7 card base.

I did the same with a piece of patterned paper from the Merry Grouchmas Paper Pad. The patterned paper was slightly shorter, but as long as the width matched, it worked perfectly. I chose a red design paper because I wanted a clean background that wasn’t too busy, but feel free to use any pattern you like.

While I was at it, I also cut a piece of brushed rose gold metallic cardstock, slightly larger than the white pieces. This will be our mat later.

Finally, from the Nesting Fishtail Banner Dies, I used the third die from large to small and cut it from Neenah Solar White cardstock.

Step 2 – Stenciling the candy cane background

I took one of the white cardstock panels and taped the Candy Canes Stencil over it. Using red ink and a blending brush, I inked over all the openings. It didn’t have to be perfect — in fact, a slightly imperfect look adds more character.
The stencil is a bit shorter than the cardstock, but that doesn’t matter at all, not the whole piece of cardstock is necessary.

Step 3 – Creating the diagonal background

    The stenciled panel and the patterned paper together formed the card background. Everyone has their own method, but this is what worked best for me;

I held both pieces together, overlapping the patterned paper on top of the stenciled panel. Once I liked how much of the stenciling showed, I cut both layers at the same time on a diagonal. This way, they fit together perfectly.

I adhered the stenciled piece onto the second white cardstock panel, adjusted the length slightly, and then adhered the patterned paper tightly against it. After the glue dried, I trimmed off the excess and set the background aside.

Step 4 – Making the banner

I used the Scene Builder Stencil to create clouds on the fishtail banner, blending different blue inks for variation. I darkened the edges slightly for more depth.

I left about one inch of white space at the bottom of the banner. This area became snow:
I added white gel pen details, and white ink as you can see on the photo, but I didn’t like it. So later I placed a strip of white glitter cardstock on it.

To create an uneven snowy edge, I trimmed it not straight. I adhered the glitter piece but left the top edge without glue. Once it was dry, I trimmed it flush with the fishtail shape.

I punched a hole at the top center of the banner and set it aside.

Step 5 – Stamping and coloring

From the Merry Grouchmas Stamp Set, I stamped the stamp with the cute little dog using black ink and clear embossing powder, then heat embossed it.
I die-cut the image using the Merry Grouchmas coordinating dies.

I also die-cut the tree from The Night Before Christmas Window Scene Craft Dies using white cardstock. I ink blended it with green inks and added darker green splatters for texture. I took the image I stamped and colored it with alcohol markers. All the furry white parts I “colored” with the stickles. This way they look fluffy and a bit shiny. I hope you can see it on the picture below.

Step 6 – Assembling the tag

I assembled all elements on the banner. Because I didn’t glue the top edge of the glitter snow, I could tuck the tree neatly underneath it. The stamped image was adhered with foam tape for a bit of dimension.

I threaded a piece of red ribbon through the hole and tied it into a bow.

The banner was adhered to the card front with foam tape, slightly offset, to give it a playful look.

Step 7 – Sentiment and finishing touches

From the Ho! Ho! Ho! Shadow Sentiment Craft Dies, I used only the inner letters (not the shadow) and die-cut them from brushed rose gold cardstock.  This time, I used two “Ho’s” and adhered them underneath the banner.

I matted the entire panel onto the brushed rose gold cardstock and adhered it to a 5×7 white card base.

To finish the card, I added some sparkle — because it is Christmas, after all!  I adhered six of the largest Crystal AB rhinestones as shown in the photo.

And that’s it, my friends, my last Christmas card of 2025! I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy Christmas card tutorial, and I would love to see your version. Please feel free to tag me when you make one!

This was my first year creating Christmas blogs, so your feedback truly means a lot to me.

Next time, I’ll be back with another themed card, if you have any preferences, let me know in the comments!

  • How to create a Beautiful Autumn themed Slimline Card?

How to create a Beautiful Autumn themed Slimline Card?

handmade autumn slimline card with die cut leaves

Hello, my crafty friends, I am back with a new blog and card! My apologies for not having found a good rhythm yet, but I promise I’ll do better. 😄 I hope you all like the card I share and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to leave them in the comments.

Today, I’m excited to share a handmade autumn slimline card inspired by the beautiful fall season. Even though the weather is still quite nice here, it’s officially autumn, which means it’s the perfect time to play with warm tones, leaves, and nature-inspired designs.

For this project, I created a slimline card using several gorgeous dies and a stamp from Kat Scrappiness. If you’re new to slimline cards, they typically measure 3.5 by 8.5 inches—a fun size that gives you plenty of room to get creative. Do you make slimline cards often?

    🧰 Kat Scrappiness Supplies Used:

    📋 Card Details:

    • As I mentioned, the card is a slimline. Start by finding a light-colored cardstock from your paperpads. I chose beige with a light ink smooch. I kept it light, because I didn’t want the background to steal the attention from the beautiful fall colors – those are the star of the show here.
    • I started with a light piece of cardstock, and cut it using a slimline die, I chose a die with a stitched border because I love the look it gives, especially since it ties in with the leaves. But feel free to use whatever you have!
    • You can set the background aside for now because next comes the fun part—die cutting! I always cut a bunch of everything I need. Most of the time, I end up cutting more than I need, but I’d rather have too many than not enough. 😜 For this card, I die-cut everything from white paper since I love to ink blend it myself. I always use Neenah Solar White cardstock because it blends beautifully, but use whatever you’re most comfortable with.

  • Happy Holiday Card

    Happy Holiday Card

Hello crafty friends!! Nora here with my last post on the blog. I have had a fabulous time on the Kat Scrappiness Design Team and will miss it immensely. The Kat Scrappiness Products are amazing and so fun to work with.

Today my card is a holiday card that I created using some of the Winter Release and some previously released Kat Scrappiness products. I designed an ornament by creating my own stencils with the Kat Scrappiness Never Ending Circles Dies. I paired this stenciled ornament with a snowflake from the Kat Scrappiness Snowflake Trio Dies and an ornament top from the older Kat Scrappiness Christmas Shaker Ornament Dies. I like to look at my dies and use them in other ways to stretch them.

Here is how I created this card:

Cut a piece of the striped paper from the Kat Scrappiness Reindeer Games 6×6 Paper Pad into a 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ piece. Adhere it over an A2, top folding card base.

Using three different size circles from the KS Never Ending Circle Dies, cut a stencil out of scrap cardstock. Starting with the largest circle, stencil with red ink onto a piece of white cardstock. Repeat the stenciling with the next two circle stencils using a slightly different red ink on each circle.

Stamp and heat emboss with gold embossing powder the “Happy Holidays” sentiment from the Kat Scrappiness Reindeer Games Sentiment Stamp Set.

Die cut the white panel with a Kat Scrappiness Nesting Deco Frames Die and adhere it to the middle of the card base.

Add the snowflake that was die cut using the Kat Scrappiness Snowflake Trio Dies out of gold glitter paper. Adhere this to the center of the stenciled ornament.

Die cut an ornament topper out of gold paper using the Kat Scrappiness Christmas Shaker Ornament Dies. Adhere it to the top of the ornament.

Adhere some twine to the ornament hanger and add a gold pearl from the Kat Scrappiness Gold Pearl Mix. This completes the card!!

I want to thank everyone for taking the time to stop by today. Please be sure to pop back in to the Kat Scrappiness Blog to see some inspiration from other member of the Kat Scrappiness Creative Crew.

  • Reindeer Games 3D Style

    Reindeer Games 3D Style

Hello crafty friends and Happy Holidays!! We are so close to Christmas and I wanted to share one more Christmas card with y’all!! I just adore the Reindeer Games stamps and dies and what better way to showcase them using the 3D Pop Up Box die! I LOVE this 3D Box die! So many ways you can use it! And don’t forget that all Christmas items are 10% off at Kat Scrappiness until December 24th! Here is how I made this card:

    1. I first cut out the 3D Pop Up Box out of Neenah Cardstock and then cut out the Stitched Hills Add-On Dies in white glitter cardstock. I then cut out the back of the pop up box from the red snow paper from the Reindeer Games 6×6 paper pad and cut out the sides of the pop up box from the green gingham paper from the same paper pad. I then glued the 3D box together using Bearly Art glue and then glued the patterned paper and glitter cardstock onto the pop up box.
    2. I then stamped the reindeer images from the Reindeer Games stamp set onto Neenah cardstock with Memento black ink and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I then colored the reindeer with Copic Markers.
    3. I wanted some extra snow so I cut some snowflakes using the Snowflake Trio Dies using the same white glitter cardstock. I also wanted some trees, so I cut the trees from the Crafters Essentials Winter dies and ink blended the trees with Oxide inks. I added some white splatter on the trees with white acrylic paint.
    4. I then glued the trees and snowflakes in between the 3D layers and added the reindeer as I was gluing everything down. I then stamped the sentiment from the Reindeer Games Sentiment stamp set and glued it onto the back of the card. I added some Basil Pearl Mix around the sentiment to add some more dimension.

I am in LOVE with how this turned out! The 3D Box Dies are so perfect to make a great scene card!! I hope I have inspired you to give it a try and Happy Holidays everyone!!

  • Silent Night!

Hi friends!  Creative Crew Kim, here with you today, and I am so excited to share a card I made using some of the amazing products from the latest release!   I am a huge fan of the beauty in nature, and I feel that this card represents that so well!

Here is how I made this card!

    1. I die-cut a panel for my card front using the Birch Tree w/Cardinal Backdrop Die.
    2. I added a shimmery white embossing paste to the die-cut panel, and I love the effect that it gave.  I then set it aside to dry completely.
    3. When the panel was dry, I adhered it to a white card base.
    4. I die-cut the cardinals from a deep red cardstock and adhered them to the branches.
    5. I die-cut one of the deer from the Reindeer Duo Dies from dark brown card stock and adhered it to the front of the card.
    6. I used a sentiment from the Simple Sentiments Stamp & Die Bundle and backed it on holographic cardstock.
    7. I tied a loopy bow from iridescent embroidery floss and added it behind the sentiment panel and then popped the panel up on foam dots.
    8. Lastly, I pulled out some of the snowflake sequins from the Glistening Christmas Tree Sequin Mix and added them to the card front.

I hope that you love this card as much as I do!  It was so incredibly much fun to create, and was really quite easy, as the dies did all of the hard work!  Make sure to head over to the shop to check out the full release!  You will not be disappointed!   Don’t forget that all Christmas products are 10% off through December 24th with code CHRISTMAS10!

  • Santa’s Helper Christmas Card-Are you Naughty or Nice?

Santa’s Helper Christmas Card-Are you Naughty or Nice?

Hello friends!! It is Nora here on the blog with a simple Christmas card created with some of the NEW Kat Scrappiness Winter Release. I combined the little boy elf from the Santa’s Helper Stamp Set with the new Reindeer Games 6×6 Paper Pad for this holiday card.

Here is how I created this card:

    • Die cut the checked paper from the Kat Scrappiness Reindeer Games 6×6 Paper Pad using the Deco Frame Nesting Die. I trimmed a smidge off of each side so that the card base would show on the edges. Adhere it to the front of an A2, top folding, white card.
    • Using the Kat Scrappiness Nesting Fish Tail Banner Dies, die cut a banner out of white cardstock. Adhere the banner to the front of the card as shown.
    • Stamp the elf and the sentiment from the NEW Kat Scrappiness Santa’s Helper Stamp Set onto white paper with black ink. Color the elf with markers. I used Copic markers for mine but you could color it in with any type of medium you might have. I also embellished the image with some white gel pen for the polka dots on the presents and silver glitter glue for the bells on his shoes.
    • With the Santa’s Helper Coordinating Dies, die cut the elf and the sentiment. Using foam adhesive, adhere the elf onto the banner. Adhere the sentiment underneath with liquid glue.

    • Using a clear sparkle pen, color over the hat and the red shirt for some sparkle and shine. Add glossy accents to the socks and green bow.
    • To complete the card, add some red and green sequins using the Kat Scrappiness Glitter Sequin Mix-Christmas and the card is complete.

That is all from me today. Please be sure to check in to the Kat Scrappiness Blog for more amazing projects by the Design Team.

  • Classic Gold Poinsettia Card

    Classic Gold Poinsettia Card

Hello crafty friends!! Sammi here sharing a card made with goodies from the NEW RELEASE just released this weekend!! I am in LOVE with the new release! I decided to play with the new Layered Poinsettia Dies paired with the Reindeer Games paper pad and the Christmas Foliage Dies. I wanted a classic look, so I went with the traditional Christmas colors and golds for this card. Here is how I made it:

    1. First I cut the card panel with the A2 Quilted Backdrop with some olive green cardstock I had in my stash. I then cut a piece of gold metallic cardstock with the largest piece from the Nesting Fishtail Banner Dies and then cut the red snowflake paper from the Reindeer Games 6×6 paper pad with the next size in the banner set. I then glued the red banner onto the gold banner and then glued it onto the green card panel.
    2. I then cut out the poinsettia with the new Layered Poinsettia Dies with some gold glitter cardstock using all of the poinsettia dies EXCEPT the larger piece. I wanted a smaller poinsettia, so I chose not to use the largest piece. I then layered the pieces on top of each other adding some foam tape to add some depth. I then cut out the center with the olive green cardstock and added some gold Wink Of Stella to add some sparkle and glued it in the center using some Bearly Art Glue and then glued it onto the upper left side of the banner.
    3. I then cut out the twigs with the Christmas Foliage Dies using olive green cardstock and gold metallic cardstock and adding some gold Wink of Stella. I also cut out the Joy with the new Joy Word w/ Shadow die with red cardstsock and white cardstock, also using the gold Wink of Stella on the red cardstock. I then glued the foliage onto the card panel and popped the Joy on top of the foliage with foam tape.
    4. To complete the look and add some sparkle, I added some Gold Pearl Mix embellishments and then glued the card panel onto a card base.

I love how this card came out! It has that classic look I was going for and it is so beautiful!! Here is what you need to make this card:

  • Hot Chocolate Tag

    Hot Chocolate Tag

Hello Friends!! Nora here with a Christmas tag I created with the NEW Kat Scrappiness Cuppa Love Shaker Card Dies.

I like to mix up my dies and see how I can use them in different ways. I wanted to make a tag with the Cuppa Love Shaker Card Dies but make it a hot cocoa cup. I combed through my dies to see if I could find something that I could use for whip cream. I found it in the “frosting die” in the Kat Scrappiness Heart Donut Builder Dies.

Here is how I created this card:

    • Die cut a gingerbread man from kraft cardstock using the Kat Scrappiness Design a Gingerbread Man Die. Die cut the eyes from black cardstock and the eyebrows and frosting from white cardstock.  Adhere it behind the cup.

    • Tie some twine around the cup handle. Adhere a Christmas Candy Sprinkle in the front of the bough. Tape a piece of red twine behind the gingerbread man and your tag is finished!!!

This project is fun and easy to create in multiples. I hope it inspires you to look at your dies a in a different way.
