  • One more Christmas Card? Try this Quick & Easy Holiday Tutorial

    Hello, my crafty friends!

Angelique here, and yes… this is my last Christmas blog of the year.
If you are running a little late, or suddenly realize you are one or two Christmas cards short (we’ve all been there 😉), I have the perfect solution for you today!

This is a quick and easy handmade Christmas card, but still super fun to make.
It has a little bit of everything:
    – simple stenciling
    – patterned paper
    – a festive tag
    – and a cute die-cut image colored with alcohol markers

I used the fun Merry Grouchmas collection from Kat Scrappiness. It might sound like a lot, but I promise you, this card comes together really easily. So grab your crafty supplies and let’s get started. You’ve got this!

    📋 Card Details

This card was made as a 5×7 inch Christmas card, but it can easily be adapted to an A2 size.
That said… you will miss that lovely white border around the card, just saying.

Step 1 – Preparing the background pieces

I cut two pieces of Neenah Solar White cardstock, each about ½ inch smaller than a 5×7 card base.

I did the same with a piece of patterned paper from the Merry Grouchmas Paper Pad. The patterned paper was slightly shorter, but as long as the width matched, it worked perfectly. I chose a red design paper because I wanted a clean background that wasn’t too busy, but feel free to use any pattern you like.

While I was at it, I also cut a piece of brushed rose gold metallic cardstock, slightly larger than the white pieces. This will be our mat later.

Finally, from the Nesting Fishtail Banner Dies, I used the third die from large to small and cut it from Neenah Solar White cardstock.

Step 2 – Stenciling the candy cane background

I took one of the white cardstock panels and taped the Candy Canes Stencil over it. Using red ink and a blending brush, I inked over all the openings. It didn’t have to be perfect — in fact, a slightly imperfect look adds more character.
The stencil is a bit shorter than the cardstock, but that doesn’t matter at all, not the whole piece of cardstock is necessary.

Step 3 – Creating the diagonal background

    The stenciled panel and the patterned paper together formed the card background. Everyone has their own method, but this is what worked best for me;

I held both pieces together, overlapping the patterned paper on top of the stenciled panel. Once I liked how much of the stenciling showed, I cut both layers at the same time on a diagonal. This way, they fit together perfectly.

I adhered the stenciled piece onto the second white cardstock panel, adjusted the length slightly, and then adhered the patterned paper tightly against it. After the glue dried, I trimmed off the excess and set the background aside.

Step 4 – Making the banner

I used the Scene Builder Stencil to create clouds on the fishtail banner, blending different blue inks for variation. I darkened the edges slightly for more depth.

I left about one inch of white space at the bottom of the banner. This area became snow:
I added white gel pen details, and white ink as you can see on the photo, but I didn’t like it. So later I placed a strip of white glitter cardstock on it.

To create an uneven snowy edge, I trimmed it not straight. I adhered the glitter piece but left the top edge without glue. Once it was dry, I trimmed it flush with the fishtail shape.

I punched a hole at the top center of the banner and set it aside.

Step 5 – Stamping and coloring

From the Merry Grouchmas Stamp Set, I stamped the stamp with the cute little dog using black ink and clear embossing powder, then heat embossed it.
I die-cut the image using the Merry Grouchmas coordinating dies.

I also die-cut the tree from The Night Before Christmas Window Scene Craft Dies using white cardstock. I ink blended it with green inks and added darker green splatters for texture. I took the image I stamped and colored it with alcohol markers. All the furry white parts I “colored” with the stickles. This way they look fluffy and a bit shiny. I hope you can see it on the picture below.

Step 6 – Assembling the tag

I assembled all elements on the banner. Because I didn’t glue the top edge of the glitter snow, I could tuck the tree neatly underneath it. The stamped image was adhered with foam tape for a bit of dimension.

I threaded a piece of red ribbon through the hole and tied it into a bow.

The banner was adhered to the card front with foam tape, slightly offset, to give it a playful look.

Step 7 – Sentiment and finishing touches

From the Ho! Ho! Ho! Shadow Sentiment Craft Dies, I used only the inner letters (not the shadow) and die-cut them from brushed rose gold cardstock.  This time, I used two “Ho’s” and adhered them underneath the banner.

I matted the entire panel onto the brushed rose gold cardstock and adhered it to a 5×7 white card base.

To finish the card, I added some sparkle — because it is Christmas, after all!  I adhered six of the largest Crystal AB rhinestones as shown in the photo.

And that’s it, my friends, my last Christmas card of 2025! I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy Christmas card tutorial, and I would love to see your version. Please feel free to tag me when you make one!

  • Meet the Quouses in a Christmas Sky: Handmade A7 Card Tutorial

Meet the Quouses in a Christmas Sky: Handmade A7 Card Tutorial

    Hello, my crafty friends!

Angelique here with another fun Christmas blog for you! This one is perfect for anyone who needs a little extra inspiration, started crafting a bit late (we’ve all been there!), or just wants to make a few more handmade Christmas cards this year.

Today’s card is totally different from my previous ones, and I hope it gives you some fresh ideas, especially on how to use products that aren’t actually Christmas-themed. I used the adorable Meet the Quouses” set from Kat Scrappiness, and honestly… sitting on the roof like that, they have the best view over all the Quokkas celebrating below!
    So let’s get started, everyone!

    🧰 Kat Scrappiness Products Used

    📋 Card Details

This card is A7 (5″ x 7″), because the acetate heart is quite large and really steals the show!

First, create an A7 card base and fold it on the long side.
Cut a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock slightly smaller than 5″ x 7″ so you’ll have a clean white border.

Using the Scene Builder Stencil, blend a sky full of soft clouds.
Don’t worry about keeping them too light — the entire panel will be inked with blue. The edges should be a darker blue, fading to a softer tone in the center. You can see the effect in the photos below.

Next, using the fireworks stamps from the Meet the Quouses Stamp Set, stamp fireworks in both corners and once again in the middle. I used a mix of colors, but black ink also works beautifully.
Once that’s done, set the background aside.

    Preparing the Quouses

I used one of the Quouses from the Ephemera Pack, already colored. The only extra thing I did was trim off the white border with scissors. Not necessary, but it makes the look even cleaner and cuter.

    Creating the Roof Scene

From the Up On The Rooftop die set, I cut all pieces from Neenah Solar White – except Santa and the dormer, which I didn’t use.
From The Night Before Christmas Window Scene dies, I cut Santa and the reindeer from pearlescent gold. Later, I changed my mind and colored it black with a glitter pen, this looked much nicer!

I also cut out the sentiment from silver colored cardstock. I only used the words, the “Ho Ho Ho”, not the shadow.

Then you Ink-blend all the pieces, you can choose colors of your own preference and assemble the little rooftop scene.

    Building the Acetate Heart

Using the largest heart from the Embossed Edge Heart Craft Dies and cut a heart from acetate.

Now the roof needed to be trimmed so it fits perfectly inside the heart. Once you’re sure of the placement, trim carefully and adhere the roof onto the acetate.
You can see this step in the picture below.

TIP: use a little bit of low stick tape so the die and roof will stay in the right position.

Add Stickles Glitter Glue – Icicle to give the snowy roof a sparkly, frosty look.
Then use white Stazon ink to add a white, snowy edge to the acetate heart.
(Be patient: this takes a while to dry. You can heat it, but some acetate warps very fast, so be careful!)

You can also use a little white paint or gesso instead. Normal ink doesn’t stay on acetate.

When everything is dry, adhere the Quouses on top of the roof.

    Final Assembly

Dry-fit the heart on your background panel so you can see where to place:

After adhering these, place thin foam tape behind the heart – only where it won’t show – and attach it to your background.

Finally, adhere the entire piece to your A7 card base… and your magical Christmas card is ready to spread joy!

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading my blog!
I hope you enjoyed this Christmas card idea, and I would love to see your version if you decide to make it,  feel free to tag me!

Good luck with all your festive crafting, and I’ll see you in the next Christmas card tutorial!

  • Christmas Cards Three Ways with Die-Embossed Backgrounds

Christmas Cards Three Ways with Die-Embossed Backgrounds

    Hello, my crafty friends!

Angelique here with a brand-new Christmas card blog for you!
As promised, it’s another festive one — but this time, a little bit different. I’m sharing three Christmas cards that look similar at first glance, yet each one has its own creative twist.

For all three cards, I used the same main die sets and created my backgrounds by embossing with a die. I’ll show you several ways to step it up (or keep it simple!) depending on how much time you want to spend.

    * On card one, I cut everything from white cardstock and did all the ink blending myself.
    * For card two, I used colored cardstock, but still added a touch of ink blending.
    * And card three is the easiest version — made with colored and glitter cardstock for quick sparkle and shine.

Each card also has its own finishing touch, so you’ll see how easy it is to adapt one design to different levels of detail.

This blog is a bit longer than usual, but I hope you’ll enjoy it! So sit back, grab your favorite drink, and let’s get crafty together.

     🧰     Kat Scrappiness Supplies Used:

    🗒  Card Details

The background for all three cards is made with the Stained Glass Poinsettia Window Craft Die, an A2-sized die.
You can keep it as an A2 card or place a colored mat behind it and adhere it to an A7 base — like I did.
It’s purely a matter of preference! If you prefer an A2 card, just skip the mat and attach your embossed panel directly to an A2 card base.

To create the backgrounds, I used the die to emboss instead of cut. This technique gives a beautiful, deep impression, as you can see in the photo. I made three embossed backgrounds — red for Card 1, black for Card 2, and blue for Card 3. Keeping it simple but striking!

Look in the instructions of your die cutting machine which sandwich to use, on the photo you see what I used, I have a Spellbinders.

These embossed panels already look amazing as they are, but you can easily step them up for extra texture and shine.
Here are a few fun ideas to try:

    • Swipe white or metallic ink gently over the raised design.

    • Use embossing ink over the top and heat-emboss it for a glossy finish.

    • Apply metallic mousse or glitter paste for sparkle and dimension.

    • Try a touch of glitter paint for shimmer.

There are so many possibilities — just go with what fits your style or what you feel like experimenting with!

Here’s what I did on each card:

    • Card 1: Kept the red embossed background as it was.

    • Card 2: Swiped the black embossed panel first with white ink, heat-set it, then lightly went over it with gold ink.

    • Card 3: Applied blue glitter mousse, giving the background a beautiful shimmering finish.

Now that we have three gorgeous backgrounds, let’s turn them into cards!

    Card 1: Full Handmade Fun

I started with Neenah Solar White cardstock and die-cut all the pieces:

Then came the fun part: ink-blending!

    • For the Poinsettia, I used three shades of pink from light to dark toward the center

    • Hearts colored with a gold marker And I Used one big Rhinestone from the Chrystal AB Rhinestonemix in the heart of the poinsettia.

    • Foliage in different green tints for a natural, varied look

    • Pinecones layered in dark brown (bottom) and lighter brown (top)

    • Candy canes in white and red

From the Merry Christmas Chipboard Embellishments, I chose “HO HO HO” and colored it with a gold marker to match the Poinsettia hearts.

Finally, I arranged all the pieces on my embossed red background. Everything was adhered with glue, except the pinecones, which I popped up with foamtape for dimension.

Optional: add a gold pearlescent mat behind the project and mount on an A7 card base for a polished finish.

    Card 2: Mixed Ink-Blending Magic

For this card, I worked with light pink cardstock for the flowers, green cardstocks for the foliage and added a touch of shimmer with rhinestones and glitter.

    Here’s what I used:

The Poinsettias I inkblended partly, leaving the tips of the petals as is. I used a rouge and soft red to give the Poinsettias more definition. The hearts were filled with Ruby Red Rhinestone Mix, using seven of the smallest stones per flower for sparkle.

From the Merry Christmas Chipboard Embellishments, I selected “Warm Wishes”, ink-blended it with soft red, and added Glossy Accents for shine.

For a finishing touch, I added thin stripes of Glossy Accents on the foliage and sprinkled glitter over it, giving the card an extra festive sparkle.

Optional: add a gold brushed mat behind the project and mount on an A7 card base for a polished finish.

    Card 3: Glittery Wreath Wonder

For the blue background, I kept things simple and sparkly. I die-cut two small poinsettias from blue cardstock and didn’t ink-blend them. The hearts were cut from light blue glitter cardstock for that extra shine. The Poinsettias I folded slightly different then the poinsettias of the two other cards.

From white glitter cardstock, I die-cut:

I also cut three classic red-and-white candy canes and three pinecones from white cardstock, ink-blended like before. To add a little sparkle, I cut four little stars from silver mirror cardstock.

A small sentiment from my stash finished the design.

For assembly, I arranged everything in a wreath form, starting with the wreath itself and giving it more texture and shape with the loose foliage. The two poinsettias are placed slightly to the right, next to each other, and the rest of the elements are distributed evenly around the wreath.

Optional: mat the finished design with blue cardstock (matching the poinsettias) and adhere to an A7 cardbase. The foliage already has plenty of glitter, so I didn’t add any extra embellishments.

And there you have it – three festive cards, each with its own vibe and level of crafting fun! From fully handmade to quick sparkle, there’s a little something for every mood and moment.

Thanks so much for stopping by and reading my blog!
I hope these ideas help you create your Christmas cards with less stress and more joy.
I’ll be back soon with more festive inspiration!

  • Easy Christmas Shaker Card with a Large Sentiment!

Easy Christmas Shaker Card with a Large Sentiment!

    Hello my crafty friends!

Angelique here with another handmade project for you! I thought it would be nice to start a little countdown to Christmas together. 🎅

Everyone is busy finishing their handmade Christmas cards, and maybe the cards I’ll be sharing in the coming period until Christmas will give you some extra ideas and inspiration. Of course, I’ll include step-by-step explanations and a list of all the craft supplies I used – all from Kat Scrappiness

So I love to read in the comments, how far are you with your Christmas cards for this year?

Now, back to today’s card – an easy and festive christmas shaker card! Everybody loves a good shaker card, right? The big star of this design (literally!) is a large sentiment.

    Christmas shaker card

    🧰 Kat Scrappiness Supplies Used:

    📋 Card Details:

The finished shaker card measures 5″ x 7″, but the shaker element itself is based on 4¼” x 5½”. You can decide whether to make it a full 5×7 card or keep it a bit smaller, whatever fits your style best!

    • I started by choosing the patterned paper I wanted from the Paper Pad. I picked a festive design with a repeating Christmas image and cut it using the largest die from the Stitched Rectangle Craft Dies.

    • Next, I cut a piece of gold cardstock with the same die, this piece will be the bottom part of the shaker.

    • From a bright red piece of cardstock, I cut a mat layer about half an inch wider than the gold piece, and set it aside for later. This step is only when you go for the 5×7 card.

    • Then, I placed the shadow part of the large Merry Christmas Dies right in the center of the festive cardstock – I just eyeballed it! And die cut it.

    • From the piece that was cut out, I die-cut the sentiment itself.
Tip: Keep every little piece you’ll need, including the dot of the “i”!

    • Next, I cut a piece of acetate slightly larger than the opening of the sentiment window and adhered it to the back of the festive panel using strong red tape (it holds really well!).

    • I adhered the sentiment on the front to the acetate.

    • Then, I added foam tape around the edges on the back to create the shaker frame. If your foam tape is a bit too wide, trim it so it won’t show from the front.
Tip: Before removing the backing of the foam tape, lightly dust the inside edges with anti-static powder (the same powder you use before heat-embossing). This helps prevent the sequins from sticking to the sides.

    • Now the fun part! I filled the shaker with sequins and a bit of the North Star Sequins, then sealed it by adhering the gold panel behind it.

    • If you’re making the 5×7 version, adhere the shaker panel onto the red mat, and then attach everything to a white card base.

    • To decorate, I die-cut four holly leaves from green cardstock using the Layered Christmas Baubles Craft Dies and arranged them around the sentiment.

    • For the finishing touch, I added three red rhinestones next to each pair of holly leaves.

    And that’s it!
I really hope you like my version of an easy handmade Christmas shaker card, and I would love to know if you give it a try!

Thank you so much for stopping by – I hope to see you next time for another Christmas cardmaking idea.

  • How to create a Beautiful Autumn themed Slimline Card?

How to create a Beautiful Autumn themed Slimline Card?

handmade autumn slimline card with die cut leaves

Hello, my crafty friends, I am back with a new blog and card! My apologies for not having found a good rhythm yet, but I promise I’ll do better. 😄 I hope you all like the card I share and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to leave them in the comments.

Today, I’m excited to share a handmade autumn slimline card inspired by the beautiful fall season. Even though the weather is still quite nice here, it’s officially autumn, which means it’s the perfect time to play with warm tones, leaves, and nature-inspired designs.

For this project, I created a slimline card using several gorgeous dies and a stamp from Kat Scrappiness. If you’re new to slimline cards, they typically measure 3.5 by 8.5 inches—a fun size that gives you plenty of room to get creative. Do you make slimline cards often?

    🧰 Kat Scrappiness Supplies Used:

    📋 Card Details:

    • As I mentioned, the card is a slimline. Start by finding a light-colored cardstock from your paperpads. I chose beige with a light ink smooch. I kept it light, because I didn’t want the background to steal the attention from the beautiful fall colors – those are the star of the show here.
    • I started with a light piece of cardstock, and cut it using a slimline die, I chose a die with a stitched border because I love the look it gives, especially since it ties in with the leaves. But feel free to use whatever you have!
    • You can set the background aside for now because next comes the fun part—die cutting! I always cut a bunch of everything I need. Most of the time, I end up cutting more than I need, but I’d rather have too many than not enough. 😜 For this card, I die-cut everything from white paper since I love to ink blend it myself. I always use Neenah Solar White cardstock because it blends beautifully, but use whatever you’re most comfortable with.
