    Happy Summer!

    Happy Monday Crafty Friends! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. Today I am sharing a summer card with an ocean theme, fluorescent colors, and REAL sand! I used alcohol inks and several of the neon Copic markers to make today’s card.

     

    This card features several products from Kat Scrappiness, including the new Life Under the Sea dies, Under the Sea Coverplate die, and the Happy Summer Word Die with Shadow.

    The Life Under the Sea Dies features five different sea plants with clear details that make realistic looking die cuts for all of your ocean themed projects!

    Card Details:

    • Created an A2 top-folding white card base.
    • Mixed several blue shades of alcohol inks on yupo paper  and after they were dry, die cut with the Under the Sea Coverplate die, backed it with white shimmer cardstock, and adhered to the card base.
    • Adhered real sand to the bottom of the card to create the ocean “floor.”
    • Die cut three of the sea plants from the Life Under the Sea dies and colored them with FRV1 (pink), FYR1 (orange), and FY1 (yellow) Copic markers and adhered over the sand.

    • Added mini starfish embellishments around the plants.
    • Die cut the Happy Summer word die several times for added dimension and colored the top layer with the FRV1 Copic marker before adhering to the top of the card.
    • For the finishing touch, added several 6mm Sparkling Clear Droplets for “bubbles.”

    Summer Quokka Card and Tutorial!

    Good morning everyone! Tasha here sharing a Summer card and tutorial featuring the new Kat Scrappiness Summer Quokka Stamp Set!

    The sweet little quokka was stamped with black ink and colored with markers. I used the coordinating die set to easily cut the image out and attached him to the card with foam squares. He looks like he is having a great beach day!

    For the background, I ink blended a simple beach scene and added several enamel dots. I also used the new Happy Summer Word Dies with Shadow for the greeting; the bright yellow is so pretty!

    To add more color to the card, I used the A2 Frame Die Set to cut x2 blue frames. In addition, I added a piece of pattern paper from the Summer Vibes Paper Pad, this paper collection is awesome!

    Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Wednesday!  Donna here sharing a sweet and simple card with a wish for a Happy Summer but before we get to my card, I would like to remind everyone of the #UkraineStrong Bundle and the Summer Vibes June Release.

    Now for my card.  This style of card is not a style I create often.  I love color..bright color and loads of design elements, patterned papers, etc so CAS or Sweet and Simple aren’t exactly my style.  I wanted to challenge myself to tone things down a bit and see what I could do with soft pastel colors and a simple sentiment.  This is what I came up with:

    Using the Layered Bubbles 3 piece Stencil Set, I ink blended 3 light and complementary colors on a card panel.  I matted with black card and adhered to a cardbase of 110 lb. Neenah Classic Crest Solar White.  I die cut a sentiment using the Happy Summer Word Die with Shadow Set; however I chose not to use the shadow.

    The sentiment was adhered flat to the card panel and that completes my attempt at a Sweet and Simple Card.  Have a Wonderful Summer, Have Fun in the Sun and Stay Crafty!

  • Summer Sun Spot Cards

    Summer Sun Spot Cards

    Hi Everyone! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. Today I am sharing two cards featuring the new Sunspot Background Die by Kat Scrappiness. My first card uses this die for a summer themed card, while my second one is a moon/galaxy themed card.

    For Card #1, I created an amber-colored background with Distress Inks and then die cut it with the Sunspot Background Die.  I used copper metallic card stock and Kat’s Happy Summer Word Die to create the sentiment.

    Finally, I filled in all the holes on the front with the new Rose Gold AB Rhinestone Mix.

     

    For Card #2,  I created a galaxy background with “Mustard Seed”, “Seedless Preserves”, “Faded Jeans,” and “Black Soot” Distress Inks, before splattering it with white acrylic paint. After die cutting this background with the Sunspot Background Die, I added a stamped moon image in the center and Kat’s Love You to the Moon & Back sentiment (Back in the Shop by popular demand!) below it. Adding several of the new Gray Diamond Rhinestone Mixaround the moon was the finishing touch.

    I ink-blended the Sunspot Coverplate die using distress oxide ink and sun-ray stencil.   I love the combination of the yellows and blues with the striking pink tulips, using the layered tulips die set.

     

    Sheri and I had the same idea this month, creating a 4th of July-themed card.  These rhinestones are perfectly sized to fit the holes.
