  • Love You Forever Card

    Love You Forever Card

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I have a sweet card to share with you using a technique from a stencil I did for another card I made in August. Below you will find the details and steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 11″ x 4 1/4″, score at 5 1/2″ and fold in half for a horizontal side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. Apply a stencil you have in your stash and apply Distress Oxide Ink in various colors. This will give you a background but there is still ink on the stencil which doesn’t need to go to waste. Spray water and place on top of another cardstock trimmed to 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. When you remove the stencil you now have a watercolor inked background. Below is a photo of my card using the inked background as it was originally intended to use. My photo above for today’s card is using the ink left over on the stencil for the watercolor effect.

Step 3 – Diecut Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangles to the panel created in Step 2. Adhere to card front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. Place something heavy on top while it dries to prevent warping.

Step 4 – Diecut Floral Heart using Pink Cardstock and Black Cardstock. Adhere the Pink diecut on top of the Black and off set it (this will create a shadow effect) then adhere to card front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 5 – Diecut I Love You Shadow Sentiment using White Cardstock x3. Adhere each layer and adhere to card front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 6 – Stamp any sentiment in your stash using Versamark on Black Cardstock. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and remove the excess. Heat set it with a heat tool. Try the sentiment and adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 7 – Stamp Koala-ty Time image using Gina K Amalgam Ink. Color in image in alcohol inks of your choice. I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers. Cut out image or use your Scan N Cut and adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to the top portion and a piece of Foam Tape to the bottom portion.

This card can be used for several occasions by changing the colors, image and/or sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

    My 2020 Favorites

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas Eve everyone!  Today I thought I would share my favorite products released this year from Kat Scrappiness.

My favorite product this year was the Thank You with Shadow die.  I love the font and size of this die set.  I created several cards using this die set.

Next up is the Gnome stamps and coordinating dies that were released throughout the year.  There are Summer Gnomes with an Add on set, Thanksgiving Gnomes, and Christmas Gnomes.

Next up is the Slimline dies and coordinating slimline products that were released throughout the year.  There are nesting dies, border dies, frame dies, envelopes, acetate sheets, and patterned paper.  Here are just a few of the slimline cards I created this year.

I have a couple of honorable mentions too.  These two dies were released early this year (which seems like 3 years ago – pre-pandemic!) – Floral Heart die and Large Filigree Egg.

Thanks for stopping by – Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!  Don’t forget there is a sale going on right now in the shop!

  • No Calorie Valentine ?

    No Calorie Valentine ?

Good morning crafty peeps! It’s Lisa here with you today and I have a Valentine’s Day project to share with you that has no calories! Kat Scrappiness has all the supplies to create this sweet treat pocket and best of all….. it’s calorie free!

I have to give credit to my daughter Taylor, it was her idea to make it calorie free! After my treat pocket was assembled I told her that I needed to buy a candy bar to slip in as a prop for the picture. That’s when she reminded me that Kat has a cute stamp set with a chocolate bar in it. It was an AHA moment and so the no calorie Valentine idea was born!

    Card Recipe

    1) I started with a piece of kraft card stock

measuring approximately 8.5″ x 4.25″ and scored it on the 8.5″ side down the middle. That left me with a square pocket.

    2) I embossed the whole piece of paper with a burlap embossing folder and then I used a scalloped edge punch to give the top front edge a fancy finish.

    3) Next I took the Floral Heart Die and die cut it out of the front of the pocket. I then adhered a pink piece of card stock behind the front panel and glued the Floral Heart Die back in the space where it had been cut from.

    4) Next I put double sided tape on the two outer edges to form a pocket.

    5) I cut the Sweet Word and Sentiment die from silver foil and adhered it to the bottom right of the pocket.

    6) The sweet little xoxo sentiment from the  Say it With Hearts stamp set was the perfect size to stamp on to the smallest Stitched Flags die. I punched a tiny hole in the flag and tied it on to some pink twine for the top of the pocket. I added some Pretty Pink Jewels around the heart as well!

    7) The last step was to stamp out 3 no calorie chocolate bars to stick inside my pocket. The Layered Chocolate Bar stamp set was the perfect set for this! I just love how realistic the wrapper looks with silver embossing powder!

And there you have it folks! A no calorie Valentine with all of the SWEET and none of those pesky calories!

Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you’ll check out these great products from Kat and make yourself a little treat (calories or no calories)

Don’t forget to follow Kat Scrappiness on all

social media platforms to be alerted to new releases, sales and giveaways!

Have a great day, I already am!

  • January Release Wrap Up

    January Release Wrap Up

Yay, we made it to Friday!  Did you see all the amazing cards that the design team created for this release?  There was so many great items in this release.  I thought I would end the week with a wrap up of the cards I created with this month’s new products.

    Heart Sprinkles

My favorite sprinkles/sequins released this month was the different colored heart sprinkles.  When I saw them, I knew I wanted to line them up in rainbow order.  I also used my favorite Kat Scrappiness product on the card – Stitched Scalloped Rectangle dies.

Say it With Hearts die (coordinates with Say it With Hearts stamp set)

For my first card, I used the Say it With Hearts die by itself with coordinating pattern paper.

My second card uses both the Say it With Hearts die and stamp set.

    Floral Heart die

I think this is my favorite card I made from this release.  I did some ink blending and layered the Floral Heart die to make it stand out on the card.

Happy Valentines Day with Shadow die

The Happy Valentines Day with Shadow die is large enough to make a great focal point on a card.  For my card, I used it with silver glitter card stock on black card stock for the shadow.

    Heart Panel die

I used different shades of pink card stock to back the Heart Panel die for this card.

    Valentine’s Day Word Search die

The Valentine’s Day Word Search die is such a fun and unique die.  For my card, I die cut it using gray card stock, but left the pieces within the die.  I then removed the pieces for the words I wanted to highlight and added pink card stock.

    Valentine Shaker Kits

Last but not least is the new Valentine shaker kits.  I loved making these two cards with the kits and all the fun sequin mixes from the Kat Scrappiness shop.  These kits make it so easy to create fun shaker cards.

For my first card, I’m using Large Heart shaker kit. I embossed the heart with Versamark ink and gold embossing powder.

My second card uses the Love Heart Shaker kit and painted it with red acrylic paint.

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!  Here is a link to the Kat Scrappiness shop.

  • Valentine Medley

    Valentine Medley

Hi Everyone, it’s Priscilla here. Today I have a trio of 3 Valentine’s Day cards, with nothing in common between them. They feature mixed medias, different, color schemes, and different techniques. In fact, the only thing they have in common is that I made them all! LOL! Let’s get started!

My first card features one of Kat’s new “Shaker Card Kits” and a cool alcohol inked background.

I used various shades of purple, pink, and brass alcohol inks, mixed them with the  Tim Holtz  “Alcohol Ink Blending Solution” on Yupo paper, and blew on them with a straw to create the look I was going for.

I colored the frame of the heart shaker kit with “Wilted Violet” Distress Oxide ink and adhered it over the base of the shaker kit that I had filled with some of Kat‘s newly released heart sprinkles and a current “Sweetheart” sequin collection.

The gold heat-embossed “Happy Valentine’s Day” sentiment is from Kat’s “Say It With Hearts” stamp set.

Card #2 features Kat’s new “Floral Heart” die. I die cut the heart from white card stock and colored all these intricate details with  red, green, and gray Copic markers.

The script background stamp and Valentine sentiment die are from my stash. Kat‘s “White Jewels” added a finishing touch.

My third and final card was created using a beautiful Graphic 45 patterned paper, yet the focal point is the elegant new “Happy Valentine’s Day Sentiment with Shadow” die.

I die cut the sentiment from black glitter paper and adhered it on the shadow cut from vellum. The black glitter heart was cut from Kat’s new “Say It With Hearts” die. The “dot” over the “i” is a Kat Scrappiness “Red Heart Droplet.”

Thanks for stopping by! And don’t forget to check out what’s NEW in Kat’s Shop, and follow my blog and Instagramfor more “Kat Scrappiness Amazingness”!
