    Creepy Halloween

Hannah here! The crazy crafter over at Fanciful Spaces! I’ve been in a stripping streak lately. I put stripes on EVERYTHING and today is no different, I am SO excited to showcase my card for you!

That paper, that isn’t patterned paper! I created the stripes with Copic Markers! It was so much fun! To start, I cut two pieces of Neenah Solar White in 80 lbs to an A2 size (4.25″ x 5.5″). On one of them, I created red, grey, black, and white stripes. This was a really quick and easy process, especially since I had a quilting ruler of my Grandma’s to ensure that my stripes were more or less horizontal. I played around with different stripe widths and alternated my colors as I wished. The white stripping is simply just the white paper without any Copic markering on it. When my red striped paper was done I did the same with the grey, I just omitted the red markers and added a few other grey Copics in for variety. Occasionally I did have to use some Clear Copic Marker fluid to clean off the edge of my ruler, especially when I went from a darker black/grey color to a lighter red color. If you don’t have a spare Clear Copic Marker fluid you can also use rubbing alcohol, but it really didn’t take more than a few drops to clean the edge and the project went really quick, not a lot was “wasted”.

I knew two things going into this card. 1) That I was going to use the Fancy Scalloped Stitch Dies by Kat Scrappiness, and 2) That I was going to compliment those fancy scallops with the creepy skull from Kat Scrappiness’s creepy Toil & Troubled Layered Stamp set! Oh yes, this card was going to be fun!

Using a sheet of acetate that had a grid on it, I lined up the angled scalloped die so that it’s point would cut at the center of my paper.

Then, using my Clarity Stencil Brushes I dusted Distress Ink along the edges of both sheets of paper to create a vignetted look. Before I adhered my two sheets of paper together I layered a piece of fun foam underneath the die cut part. I LOVE double sided Scor-Tape by Scor-Pal for adhering fun foam to paper, it is my go-to adhesive product for applications such as this!

Next came the most fun part! The skull from the Toil & Trouble Layered Set! It inked up beautifully and was SO easy to line up! Who doesn’t love these layered stamps?!?!?! Using the Tim Hotlz Stamping Platform provided perfect stamping. My skull came out perfectly on the first try. I did play around with a few different greys from what I had in my stash, but it would look SUPER creepy if you tossed in some red or even blue inks!

Once the skull was inked up I realized that I wanted it to wobble. I was so happy that I had the Mini Action Wobble Springs in my stash! All that was left was to choose a sentiment and to stamp it! I chose to heat emboss the “trick or treat” sentiment from the Toil & Trouble Layered Stamp Set with my VersaMark Watermark Ink and some silver embossing powder by Lawn Fawn.

With the scalloped die cut edge, and the dainty “trick or treat” sentiment, followed with the creepy red stripped coloring and the skull, I am in LOVE with the dichotomy of this set! I hope you enjoyed this post! This card was SO MUCH fun to work on, I can’t wait to see what you do with the really cool Toil & Trouble Layered Stamp Set!

    When Black Cats Prowl

Hello crafty friends, Cheryl here today with a Halloween card. I used one of Kat’s new stamp sets called Toil & Trouble Layered Stamp Set. It’s really cute! So let’s get to it. Simple card today, but kinda vintage looking.

I stamped out the cute black cat from KS Toil & Trouble Layered Stamp Set using three shades of dark gray to black. I knew I wanted to mount him onto the black die cut image for the cat and also knew I was using a white card base. So I fussy cut him leaving just a tiny bit of white left showing. I then used foam adhesive and adhered it to the die cut. I stamped green eyes for him and added Glossy Accents to make them shine.

I cut the first layer of patterned paper using the new KS Cross Stitched Rectangle Dies…LOVE!!! Lol, anyway, I also cut a black piece to layer the stamped sentiment on…which I cut using the KS Never Ending Rectangle Dies. While I had the Never Ending dies out I cut a larger piece in white. I layered that over a bright green pattern from a Lawn Fawn pad called Perfectly Plaid Rainbow Petite Paper Pack. I layered all the papers together and then added it to the card base. Finally, I used some liquid glue and placed the cat. I chose some sequins from Sparkling Manhattan Sequin Mix and some from Grandma’s Garden Sequin Mix and glued to the front.

I then went to finish off the inside of the card. I stamped the middle layer of the cat stamp in a mid gray ink. I then created a layered sentiment with one from the Toil & Trouble Layered Stamp Set. I took a few more of the sequins and glued them to the inside.

And that’s it for me today. Hope you like my card. Here’s where you can get these supplies, and many more.

    Never Ending Circle

Hi , it’s me again Mona.  Today I am sharing with you a journal page I made featuring  Kat Scrappiness’ new amazing Never Ending Circle Dies.

I started by adhering Tim Holtz script tissue paper to my Dylusion Crestive Journal using Ranger Mat Gel Medium.

While my page was drying I used Kat Scrappiness Never Ending Dies to die cut all the circles in water colour paper.

I used my Jane Davenport bright colour to paint all my circles and added Black Soot Distress Ink around each circle to help the colours to pop. I also added the black ink around the page. I then proceeded by die cutting the letters in black cardstock with a alphabet set that I had in my stash. To finish off my page I used Nuvo Drops -lilac and Nuvo Drop- Caribbean blue to make the dots to contour my page. That completes my page for today. I hope you enjoyed it.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you again soon. For all your crafting needs please visit Kat Scrappiness store she has a very good variety of amazing products. Here is the link to her store.

    Halloween Pop Out Shaker Card

Hello crafty friends! Today I have a fun Halloween projects using some new stamps, dies and sequins from Kat Scrappiness. For today’s card I will be using the new Toil and Trouble stamp set, the Cross Stitched rectangles, the Pop Out die and some of the Halloween sequins.

The inspiration for this card was the new Pop Out die. I thought it would be fun to hide a shaker behind this interactive card element. I really wanted to use some of the new Halloween stuff as well. So I decided to create a Halloween shaker card that would be a bit simple looking at first and open to a fun surprise. I have a full video tutorial for you today that you can watch below or watch on YouTube.

    Video:

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQc4AbsPTck]

I started by stamping the layered cat from the Kat Scrappiness Toil and Trouble stamp set. I knew I wanted the stamp and some sequins to be the surprise underneath. I created a bright and colorful Halloween background using Distress Oxide Inks and shimmer spray. Then I die-cut this background with the Cross Stitched Rectangles and the Pop Out die. I also heat embossed a sentiment from the stamp set on the panel.

Now I was ready to create the shaker. I adhered my cat then the acetate window so none of the sequins would catch on him. I added some Ghostly Greetings sequins to the shaker and embellished the card with some of the ghosts from the Boo to You mix. I hope you enjoyed my card and tutorial. I encourage you to pop over to the shop and check out these fun new products.

    So Very Grateful

Hi Everyone!  It’s Heidi and I’m back with a card using a heat embossing technique with lots of shimmery gold.  I also do a little pop up with my front panel which adds an interesting detail.

To start, I secured the leaf stencil from the Gina Marie Designs June Stencils Bundle to the front of a 4.25″x5.5″ white notecard using some Post-It tape.  Using a Versamark ink pad, I spread the ink evenly over the stencil.

I then heat embossed the area with some Ranger Gold Embossing Powder.

After cutting off the back of the notecard, I used the 6th square in the Never Ending Squares die set, to cut into the center of the embossed panel to creat two parts.

I adhered the frame part to the front of another white notecard, then placed 2 layers of foam tape on the square.  I placed the square on top of the framed piece lining up the leaves exactly.

I stamped Mudra’s Grateful Hollow sentiment stamp onto some vellum with Versafine Onyx, heat embossed it with Ranger Clear embossing powder, then cut that out with the 5th rectangle from the Never Ending Rectangle die set.  The Never Ending dies are perfect when you need a lot of precision on a card like this.  They create nice, clean, exact lines.

I added the vellum piece to the square panel using some clear pop dots and added some Sparkling Manhattan Sequins to highlight the sentiment.

    Boo Luminary

Hi there everyone! It’s Cheryl again today. I have a fun little Halloween 3D project for you today. I used an svg file and my Cameo to cut it out. The rest is Kat Scrappiness dies.  Hope you like!

I printed off some digital paper from my stash and then cut out the file using my Silhouette Cameo. I then used KS Never Ending Square dies and KS Fancy Scalloped Stitched Squares. I cut a window into one side using the square die. Then I cut a square using the scalloped dies and centered a smaller square from the Never Ending dies to create a frame for around my window. I put vellum on the backside and then glued the frame around it. I also cut square mats and fancy scallop pieces to create panels for the other three sides. I used foam squares and liquid to glue to attach.

I then pulled out a stamp that says Boo and cut that using a Lawn Fawn die. I added that with foam squares and then liquid glue to attach to each side. I scattered around some sequins and then put a battery operated tea light inside. I tied it shut with some lime green ribbon.

I pulled out a dark orange ink pad and did a bit of inking around the edges of the box to cover over any of the white core of the paper. I don’t like to see that, lol.

So that’s it for me today. You can use any of your digital cutting files and then jazz them up with stamps and dies. It’s the best of both worlds, stamping and dies, and electronic die cutting machines. Who says you can’t do it all, lol!

Hopefully this little clip shows the flicker of the battery operated tea light.
