    Chocolate Valentines

Valentines Day is coming! Fortunately, you are in luck because Kat Scrappiness is your Valentine’s headquarters! Kat has so many amazing products in store and there is still quite a lot of time to get your order in! I have a card which was really quick to create but packs a lot of love!

I started with the new Distressed Edge Rectangle Dies I used the largest rectangle die cut a panel with Neenah Solar White in 80lb. Then using the Mini Hearts Stencil from CC Designs and some Distress Oxides I covered that panel with pink hearts! FUN!

I heat set my hearts and dusted them thoroughly with an embossing buddy, then using Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder I heat embossed a sentiment from Kat’s Chocolate Lover’s Sentiment Stamp Set.

Going back to the same rectangle dies, I chose two smaller ones and taped them together to cut out a pink rectangle out of some pink cardstock I had. While the dies were still taped together I cut out several white rectangles out of less expensive cardstock which would be used to allow the sequins to move around in the card. I think in the end I used about 4 or 5 white sections for enough bulk.

I cut a rectangle out of acetate and adhered that to the back of the pink frame using Scor-Tape. Then I started adding my white rectangle layers.

I took an A2 sized sheet of that same pink cardstock and adhered that to my card base (Neenah Solar White 110lb) using my favorite tape runner, then using the same taper runner I adhered my heart/rectangle panel. Using more Scor-Tape I started to adhere the pink rectangle frame in the center, however, I only adhered one side. I very carefully snuck some sequins from the Hearts O’Plenty sequin pack, then I sealed up the other three sides.

And voila! It was done! It didn’t take a huge amount of time, but it did come with a lot of love! Any person would LOVE to receive this card from you! If you need any of these products, use HANNAH10 at check out for 10% off.

I used the following products on this card:

Distressed Edge Rectangle Dies by Kat Scrappiness
Chocolate Lover’s Sentiment Stamp Set by Kat Scrappiness
Mini Hearts Stencil by CC Designs
    Distress Oxides
    Acetate
    Scor-Tape
    Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder
Hearts O’Plenty Sequin Mix by Kat Scrappiness
Neenah Solar White in 80 and 110 lbs
    Pink Cardstock

Die Cut Delights– Plus, Heidi’s top 10

Hi Everyone!  It’s Heidi and today is all about die cuts.  I’m a clean and simple card maker and I love my die cuts.  I think it’s something about the crisp and clean look and the ability to do simple layers.  They just make me happy!    Today, I have a couple of cards featuring the Kat Scrappiness brand dies.

First up, is a clean and simple card using the Woodlands Reindeer die along with one of the Never Ending Oval dies.

I started off by cutting an oval out of white cardstock then cutting the reindeer die into that.  I’m saving the die cut portion for another version of the project.

I adhered a rectangle of blue glitter paper to go behind the reindeer oval.  I wanted to create a simple silhouette that “pops”.  I thought about a shaker, but I thought the crisp blue really highlighted the die.

After stamping a sentiment from Avery Elle’s Snowflakes stamp set, I adhered the oval over the glitter paper with foam tape.

Here is an alternate version of the card where I offset the positive image over the die cut opening with foam tape.

    SUPPLIES:

     Woodlands Reindeer die

    Never Ending Oval die

    Avery Elle Snowflakes stamp set

    glitter paper

    foam tape

Next, I have a card using the new Distressed Edge Rectangle dies along with the All in the Family dies and Double-Stitched Heart dies.

I used the two largest sizes of Distressed Edge rectangles to create a soft backdrop for my hearts.

To create a kind of “tissue paper” look, I cut them out of vellum and colored the larger piece with a light blue Copic marker.

I love the soft layers–and I didn’t even have to tear paper!

I die cut multiples of the “family” die cut from the All in the Family set and glued them together to give it a 3D look.

The inside sentiment is from Technique Tuesday’s Classic Christmas Sentiments.

    SUPPLIES:

Kat Scrappiness Distressed Edged Rectangle dies

Kat Scrappiness All in the Family dies

    Kat Scrappiness Double-Stitched Heart dies

Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Winter 6×6 Paper Pad

Technique Tuesday Classic Christmas Sentiments stamp set

    Zig 2-Way Glue Pen

    Vellum

    White cardstock

Wooden hearts from the Chocolate Lover’s card kit

    B04 Copic Marker

    Foam tape

Since September, I have had the pleasure of being part of the Kat Scrappiness design team–I can’t believe how fast the time has gone!  I wanted to share with you my top ten favorite items from the Kat Scrappiness shop.  I love Kat’s shop, because not only does she have her own brand of awesome stamps, dies and sequins, but she carries other companies products as well.  Her “new items” section is regularly updated with all the latest products from Tonic, Hero Arts, Avery Elle, Lawn Fawn and much more.  Here are some of my favorites–in no particular order because I love and use them all!  Be sure to click on the links if you want to see them in the shop.

    1.  Foilables-Toner Graphics

Using a Minc machine or laminator,  you can create foiled sentiments or backgrounds easily using this printed toner paper.  In this post, I show a quick video demonstration of how to create a beautiful background using this product.

    2. Nuvo Drops

My go-to favorite for creating my own “enamel” dots without the little “peaks” you can sometimes get.  The variety of colors both soft and bright make me want to collect them all!

    3.  Nuvo Embellishment Mousse

This is my new favorite paste for creating raised designs using stencils.  The buttery shimmer of all the ice cream colors makes me happy!

    4.  Mudra floral stamps–Linen Blooms

I love using floral stamps on a lot of my projects.  Mudra has some gorgeous ones and the Linen Blooms is my favorite.  I’ve used this stamp set on two projects already.  Here and here.  I like that the set includes both solid and open flowers for colored inks or Copic coloring.  Plus, with a sentiment included it’s a perfect “starter set” for someone just getting into stamping.

    5.  Kat Scrappiness Never Ending Shapes Dies

I reach for these all the time.  So many size options for squares, rectangles, ovals or circles.

    6.  Sparkling Clear Droplets Sampler Pack

I’m a huge fan of enamel dots.  I like these clear dots that come in various sizes for when you don’t want the color, but you just want a little texture to highlight a sentiment or focal point.  Especially flowers!

    7.  Avery Elle Snowflakes clear stamp set

Another great stamp set that offers variety.  Different sizes of intricate snowflakes along with some nice sentiments will get you through an entire winter season.

    8.  Coffee-themed products

It’s fun to make these types of cards and Kat actually has a section dedicated to coffee.  Tons of cute stamps as well as coordinating sequins.  My favorite is But First Coffee from Echo Park–lots of great sentiments.

    9.  Lawn Fawn Stamp Shammy

A great tool when you’re multi-stamping and need to change colors.  One quick swipe and your stamps are squeaky clean.

    10.  Stitched, Scalloped Nesting tags–Kat Scrappiness

Three sizes offer so many options.  I love the scalloped and stitched detail along the bottom of these tags as well as the largest one that is perfect for the front of a gift bag.

A few other things to note:

    Hannah’s Top 10!

Hi there! Hannah Rubenstahl here, from Fanciful Spaces! I can not believe that this is my first Kat Scrappiness blog post for 2018! I am so excited to see what this new year brings to us! With the coming of the new year, I thought it would be a great time to go over my top 10 products that can be found in the Kat Scrappiness shop! Kat carries her own brand of stamps, dies, and sequins, but she also carries a variety of other products! My list combines all of these to bring you, what I think, is the best of the best!

I have a video for you, showcasing these products down below, first here is a collage of my faves!

I also have a card for you! I made this card last year, and I wanted to create a video for it, but never got around to it. I wanted to share it anyway because I thought it was clever and fun!

I started by taking an 8.5″ x 5.25″ piece of paper and scoring it so that the front panel of my card was bisected to open in the center.

Then I took Kat’s Fancy Scalloped Stitched Border Dies and just cut off the edge of the two center portions.

I took some Lawn Fawn paper, cut it down so that it covered the front panels, and also cut with the Fancy Scalloped Edges. I covered the inside with blue cardstock, in order to help hide the scars my die cutting machine left on the underside of my white paper and to add an extra something special on the inside. I needed to offset the fold line so it would fold correctly, which took some trial and error. I also traced the curve of the scalloped edges so that that design element would carry through to the inside.

I colored and die cut these ADORABLE critters from Lawn Fawn using the For You, Deer Stamp and Die sets and snuck those in between the layers of paper, being careful that they overlapped and didn’t cross in front of each other. I used my tape runner to adhere the paper and the cardstock panels, however, I used just a touch of Scor-Tape to help adhere the critters.

I silver embossed the outside edges of my card to help give a more finished look with Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder, however, this embossing powder from Lawn Fawn would be a perfect substitute! I also silver embossed the inside sentiment which is from Hero Arts, a set called Poster Christmas Carols.

Whew, that card took quite a bit of math and work, but it is so different that I think it was worth it! I love the inner sentiment, it still works for these cold January days making that Hero Arts sentiment set work outside of just the Christmas season!

The products I used for this card are:

Fancy Scalloped Stitched Border Dies by Kat Scrappiness
Perfectly Plaid Winter Petite Paper 6×6 by Lawn Fawn
Silver Embossing Powder by Lawn Fawn
For You, Deer Stamp Set by Lawn Fawn
For You, Deer Dies by Lawn Fawn
Poster Christmas Carols by Hero Arts
    Scor-Tape
    Tape Runner
Neenah Solar White Cardstock in 80 and 110lb
    Blue Cardstock

If you are interested in any of the Christmas themed products I used you can save 30% by using 2017CLEARANCE at checkout! This works from now until the 15th and is only good for Christmas items.

If you are looking to save money but aren’t shopping for Christmas items, use HANNAH10 at checkout!

Now, back to that Top 10!

Christmas Gift Tags with Kat Scrappiness Naughty Stamp Set and Die

Hello everyone, it’s Maria here with you today.

I am sharing some cute tags today showcasing the Kat Scrappiness Naughty stamp set and die, with the Gerda Steiner Peeking Friends stamp set, Stitched Scalloped Nesting Tag Dies and Pop-Out die, plus a bunch of other supplies available at the shop.

I stamped my images on Neenah solar white card stock with my memento tuxedo black ink using my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform.  I colored my images in with Copic markers.   Since I didn’t have the die for the Gerda Steiner stamp set, I fuzzy-cut them with my scissors.  I also die-cut the naughty sentiment die on black card stock twice.

I die-cut 4 tags using the stitched scalloped nesting tag dies on white card stock, as well as 4 tags with the Doodblebug Christmas patterned paper.  I used the pop-out die to die-cut the window on the patterned paper.  I adhered the images first on the white card stock, and then adhered the patterned paper on top.  To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment on black card stock for two of the tags with VersaMark ink and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.

    Here are my tags today:

I hope you like my projects.  Please visit www.katscrappiness.com to shop for crafting supplies.  Have a great Thanksgiving!

    Happy New Year

Hi everyone this is Mona wishing everyone a Happy New Year. I created this card featuring Kat Scrappiness Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Dies .

I started by die cutting all the elements I needed , the two larg st size of the Stitched Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Dies , also here you see a teal card base but later on I decided to go with black. I also Die cut a champagne bottle with a Die I had in my stash. I stamped 2018 on the label and Happy New Years with my Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink .  Next I die cut 2018 with a set of alphabet Dies that I have.I glued everything in place using my Atg Gun which my Atg gun refill  were purchased at Kat Scrappiness. For my finishing touch I added 6mm Gold Sequins. This completes my card for today.

Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again soon.
