    Eat Sleep Craft!

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a fun crafty card featuring two just released items at Kat Scrappiness – Crafters Gonna Craft stamp set and Stitched Scalloped Borders.

I cut out a piece of white card stock using one of the Stitched Scalloped Borders.  I then stamped how I wanted my images to look all together on a scratch piece of paper.  This helps with determining what I need to mask.  I stamped the images that would need to be masked on sticky notes (the ones that are sticky all over.)

Then I begin the process of stamping and masking by stamping the images that I want in the foreground first.

I continue this until all my images are stamped the way I want them.

Then the fun part, removing the masks to reveal!  I colored my images with Copic markers and added a few sparking clear jewels.  I used foam tape to put it on my card base.  On the card base, I added patterned paper from my stash that looked like washi tape.  As you can see below on the right side of the glue bottle, the lines from the pencils don’t meet the lines on the glue bottle.  After I colored the images, I took a black pen to fill in those lines.

    Oceans of Love

Hi Friends! kel here today to share a card featuring the one of the new backdrop dies, the Stitched Diagonal Backdrop Die in the Kat Scrappiness store!!!

I thought it was perfect to make a shaker card with, and wanted to use one of the adorable Heffy Doodle stamp sets from my latest KS haul (video coming soon!) as well! This set is Oceans of Love and there are some adorable sea creatures in here!! I was too lazy to mask the stamps, so did my best to line them up close to each other and with the exception of the sting ray’s tail, tried not to overlap them. After I stamped them out with my Memento ink in Tuxedo Black, I stamped out some of the bubbles that come in the set in blue ink, and then colored up these fishy friends with my Copics and trimmed them out. I also added some glitter to the bubbles and the narwhal’s horn, because GLITTER. haha!

After stamping out my sentiment across the diagonal panel (also using my Memento ink in Tuxedo Black), I added some of the smallest Pretty Pink Jewels to the card. I also used some of the beautiful Mint Sparkles Sequins Mix to fill my shaker. I absolutely LOVE the texture in the gold stars as well as the big clear iridescent sequins. So pretty!!

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon! Don’t forget to take part in our awesome monthly challenge for your chance to win a $25 Gift Card!!

    Bright Birthday Wishes

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a bold and bright birthday card using the Wood Grain Framed Diamond Wire Die and some pretty blooms from Mudra’s Wild Rose stamp set.

I started off by die cutting the background  using Gina K. card stock and leaving the  pieces intact.  I love that you can get different looks from this one background die!

I used some tape on the back to secure everything.

Next, I wanted to create a frame for my flowers, so I spread out my Never Ending Rectangle dies to find the perfect size.

I blended some Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Ink all over my chosen panel going from dark to light.

I thought orange flowers would look nice with the purple and yellow, so I used a variety of Copics to color my stamped flowers.

A sentiment from Hero Arts finishes the card.

Thanks so much for joining me today.  Be sure to head over to the Kat Scrappiness shop and feel free to use my coupon code: Heidi10 to receive 10% off your purchase.  Have a great day!

    Crafter’s Essentials 2 Inspiration

Hello crafty friends! I’m so excited to show you one of the new Kat Scrappiness die sets for the July release. The new Crafter’s Essentials 2 die set is so fun and versatile. The design team has already shared a lot of great cards with these dies so be sure to check them out in the store.

When I got the Crafter’s Essentials 2 die set I knew the background die would be a favorite for me and I got right to work making some cards with it. I knew instantly that I wanted to make a rainbow chevron pattern down the side of one and decided to combine it with all those fun little faces from the Punny Snacks stamp set.  I have a full video tutorial for two of the cards that you can watch below or on YouTube.

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLdDHXI10HU]

I found that the sunburst image in the set was perfect for using up some scraps of Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Spring that I had left over and combined it with an image from Lawn Fawn’s Easter Party I had colored months ago for some Easter cards I shared. As mentioned in the video, if you need a piece of cardstock for layering, like the pink piece on the second card, you can make it with your inks. Finally I have one last inspiration card combining Crafter’s Essentials 2 with Lawn Fawn DuhNuh.
