    Thanksgiving Slimline Gatefold

Thanksgiving is a little over a month away!  I’m actually looking forward to having our small, traditional family dinner…something normal for a change!  My card, however, is certainly not a ‘normal’ slimline card — it does have a surprise element to it.  I kept it very simple, but there’s so much you can do to embellish upon this card base!

For my card, I cut a piece of kraft cardstock to 8 wide” x 9 high” and scored 2″ on each side which left 4″ for the card center.   I then cut small panels for the front (2″ x 4″ for the cardstock and slightly smaller for the pattern paper).  Each small panel was then adhered to the front card flaps; the first small panel was adhered to the left, the next small panel to the right flap and so on leaving a 1/4″ in between the small panels.  When the card is closed, the panels fit into each other.

For the inside, I cut one pattern paper with one of the Fancy Scalloped Nesting Slimline Dies and brown cardstock with one of the Distressed Edge Slimline Nesting Dies.

All the adorable images are from the Thanksgiving Gnomes set!

    “Say Cheese” Quokka Style

Hi Everyone! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. Today I am sharing two cards made with the newly released  “Quokka’n U” stamp set by Kat Scrappiness. So what is a “Quokka,” you ask??

This animal  (pronounced “kwaa·kuh”) is a short-tailed scrub wallaby from Australia. This new, hand drawn 4″ x 6″stamp set features three adorable quokkas posing for selfies, and includes a selfie stick with iPhone and a Polaroid-style image to frame them in.

For my first card, I played on the “Say Cheese” sentiment in the stamp set, and created a Swiss cheese-like background. I added two of the  quokka images colored with Spectrum Noir “Tri-Blend” markers, fussy cut out, and mounted on the Polaroid frames

My second card follows a self-centered quokka from first taking a selfie to getting it framed and hung on his own living room wall. LOL!

The sentiment, picture frame, and wallpaper patterned paper are from my stash. I added a few “Gold Heart Sequins” for a finishing touch.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Don’t forget to check out what’s NEW in Kat’s Shop, and follow my blog and Instagram for more “Kat Scrappiness Amazingness”!

I Love You This Much! Card

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. I was so happy when I saw the new Quokka’N Up Stamp Set. When my son was younger we used to play a game. How much do you love me? He would hesitantly stick out his arms and when they were fully extended he would say I love you this much! And of course I would tickle him under the arms. That was my inspiration for this stamp set. Below you will find the steps to create your own I Love You This Much! Card.

    Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/4” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card (A2).

Step 2 – Diecut Double Stitched Rectangle using Patterned Paper. Adhere to card front using Foam Tape.

Step 3 – Stamp Quokka’N Up (Frame) using Gina K Amalgam Ink on White Cardstock. Create a mask by placing Post it at the edge of the inner outline. Stamp Quokka’N Up (Image). Remove the Post it. Color in the image using Alcohol Markers. I used Spectrum Noir Classique Markers.

Step 4 – Stamp Quokka’N Up (sentiment) using Versafine Onyz Black Ink beneath the frame from Step 3.

Step 5 – Diecut Double Stitched Rectangle from the panel created on Step 3 & 4. Adhere to the card front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 6 – Optional – Instead of coloring the frame with Markers Stamp Quokka’N Up (Frame) using Versafine Onyx Black Ink on Patterned Paper. Trim out the frame and adhere over the plain frame. If you paper pierce then you don’t need to mask from Step 3.

Step 7 – For added interest and sparkle randomly adhere Sparkling Clear Jewels using an Embellishment Pick Up Tool and Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

This card can be used for several occasions by changing the patterned paper, colours, and/or sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank for for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

    I Miss You This Much

How did everyone like the new release?  Had you heard of a quokka before?  I hadn’t, but they are so cute.

My card features the quokka within the frame from the Quokka’n Up stamp set.  I stamped, colored, and cut out the stamps using Copic markers and my Silhouette Cameo.  I die cut a piece of white card stock using the Stitched Postage Stamp Edge Rectangle dies.  I used a stencil can distress ink to lightly sponge blue ink onto this layer.  Then added a few ink splatters with black ink.    I heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set onto black card stock and white embossing powder.  I added a few blue heart droplets to finish the card.

    Thanks for stopping by!

    Zoombie City

Hello Friends Waleska here to share a very spooky card with the amazing Slimline Layered Cityscape Dies, have you check this great die? I love it because of the easy way you have to assemble a city border with the background piece. Here is my card:

To create this card I used the largest of the Slimline Never Ending Nesting dies and I ink blend that panel with Oxide Inks in colors Blueprint Sketch and Seedless Preserves I added some watersplashes for a spooky night look.  I colored my cute zoobies with copic markers and handcut them.  I die cut the  Slimline Layered Cityscape dies the front part in color black and the background part in color yellow and adhere them together… and that is the beauty and easy way to create a cityscape with this awesome die.

I adhere the cityscape die to my card panel leaving a little of the down part to add a road so the zoombies can be walking down the city to eat…..

I also created a full moon and adhere some little bats and the sentiment to finish this card.  What do you think spooky enough?

Thank you so much friends for stopping by today! Remember to stay safe and stay crafty.

    Sweet Holiday Treats

This may not be the best time to start a diet with all the holiday treats around the corner, but I did 🙂  At least my card, filled with yummy holiday sweet treats is calorie free!

For my slimline card, I used a dark brown card base and lined it with a piece of white cardstock.  I then cut red cardstock using one of the Slimline Cross Stitched Nesting dies and also a design from the A Cozy Christmas for the center.  Using different sizes from the Never Ending Circle dies, I cut openings in the main panel to create shaker three windows.  The new Sprinkles at Kat Scrappiness are SO fun and festive!  I used Merry & Bright, Jolly Sweet and Christmas Cocoa Sprinkles for my shakers.  And who can resist these adorable little bakers?!  They are from Lawn Fawn’s A Creature Was Stirring set.
