    ADAM KARLE

Adam’s non-traditional Valentine’s card is so unique and we are loving the new purple sprinkles that he added to adorn the card.

Loving this card with the new pink sprinkles and the Hearts panel die in black against the stripe pink background.  He also used the “love” sentiment from the I Love You Shadow die set.

    CAREN BARTHOLOMEW

Caren die-cut the Happy Valentine’s Day sentiment on silver card stock and adhered it on a black panel using the shadow die.  She also used the new red sprinkle to replace the dot that matches her background.

I am loving the colors behind the Hearts Panel die in different shades of pink with silver and black.  This card is so simple but definitely packs a punch!

    DAWN SOTO

Loving both cards created by our talented Dawn.  She has a process video to share with you below.

    JO THOMPSON

Our amazing and talented DT member, Jo combined the Hearts Panel and the Happy Valentine’s sentiment and created a Valentine’s shaker card using the new sprinkles.  The hearts was die-cut using the Embossed Edge Hearts dies which happens to be 20% off this month!

Here is a special treat from Jo with her process video:

    KATHY SCHWEINFURTH

New DT member, Kathy created two amazing cards using the new dies and adorning it with the new sprinkles available at the shop.

    LISA GOLZBEIN

I love the scallop heart against the Happy Valentine’s sentiment that Lisa die-cut with glittered card stock.  She has mixed and matched the new dies with some of our previously released Stitched Fancy Scalloped Hearts with the Stitched Fancy scalloped Rectangle dies and and created two beautiful cards.

    MEGHAN KENNIHAN

What can I say about Meghan’s cards? ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!  Meghan used one of our shaker kits (releasing on January 19) that she embossed with some red embossing powder.  She also used some Valentine’s confetti as her shaker element.  The sentiment is from the new Happy Valentine’s Day sentiment with shadow that she die-cut using some red card stock to match her background.

    PRISCILLA JOSEPH

I just love the classy patterned paper that Priscilla used as her background on her first card.  She die-cut the sentiment using the new Happy Valentine’s Day sentiment die and adhered it on some vellum.  She adorned her card with a black heart that matches the sentiment and added the Red Heart droplets.

  • February Release Day 1 – Medallion Coverplate Die

February Release Day 1 – Medallion Coverplate Die

Hello Kat Scrappiness fans! It is day 1 of the February product release and today, the design team is showcasing the Medallion Coverplate Die.  We are also having a giveaway everyday during release week so please scroll down at the end of the blog post to find out how to WIN this Medallion Coverplate die.  The design team has been super busy creating the samples for you.  We will not have a blog hop at this time but you will be able to see how they created their projects all throughout the month of February so please stay tuned.  Some of the girls are even planning on posting a YouTube process video.  Are you ready to see the Medallion Coverplate Die?  Here’s what it looks like:

Here are some amazing samples by the design team.

    CAREN BARTHOLOMEW

Caren created this super cute Valentine’s Day card with the new coverplate die and did some inlaid technique.  She used the stitched sentiment strip die for her Happy Valentine’s Day sentiment. What an awesome card, Caren!

Caren created another card using the medallion coverplate and die-cut a scalloped circle as her focal point.  She also used the Give Thanks sentiment from the Happy Fall Y’all stamp set and added the fall leaf and some sequins to adorn the card. Wow!

    LISA GOLZBEIN

Lisa did some ink-blending on her card stock with some distress oxide inks in pastel colors, and die cut the same using the medallion coverplate.  She also used the Thank You script sentiment die and added some jewels to finish her design.  So beautiful and perfect for Spring.  Here’s a closer look:

    MARIA RUSSELL

I created a love-themed card.  I die-cut the medallion coverplate from some 110 lb card stock and adhered acetate sheet.  I added the foam adhesive to create the well and used the Golden Anniversary sequins as my shaker element.  I adhered this piece onto a white card-base and added an image from a stamp set from my stash.  I also used the new Stiched Sentiment strip die and heat-embossed the sentiment and adhered this strip on the center of my card.  Here’s a closer look:

I created this simple card by die-cutting a tiffany-blue card stock using the coverplate die.  I stamped the sentiment from Virginia Turtle stamp set (purchased from the shop awhile back) using Versafine ink.  I added the black bow using a Penny Black die set.  I finished the design by adding some Sparkling clear jewels from the shop.  Doesn’t the black bow remind you of the outfit by Audrey Hepburn in the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany’s? Here’s a closer look:

    MARTHA GOMEZ

Martha used the Medallion coverplate die and cut it in half.  She adhered the die-cut on top of a green background using foam adhesive and stamped her sentiment on the stitched sentiment strip die.  To finish her design, she added the red heart.  Here’s a closer look:

    PRISCILLA JOSEPH

Priscilla created this gorgeous Valentine’s Day card with the Medallion Coverplate as her background.  She stamped and heat-embossed the heart wreath using the Floral Heart stamp set by Neat and Tangled.  To finish her design, she added some Fuschia Jewels.  Here’s a closer look:

Priscilla used the Medallion Coverplate die with the Cross Stitched Rectangle dies and a stamp set from Papertrey Ink called “Glorious Globes”.  I love the tone on tone background that she created on her card.   Here’s a closer look:

    TINA GUIGUI DORNBAUM

Tina created this beautiful card by inking up her background with distress oxide inks and die-cut the piece using the coverplate die.  She adhered this piece onto a black card stock to make the colors pop!  She stamped the sentiment with versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder and added some sequins to finish her design.  I love the colors that she used!

Here’s another card from Tina but this time, she colored the background instead of the die-cut and added a very colorful butterfly as her focal point.

  • You Octopi My Heart Shaker Card

You Octopi My Heart Shaker Card

Hello crafters! It’s Maria Russell here with you again today to share with you a cute Valentine’s card, showcasing the Stitched Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Lawn Fawn Octopi My Heart stamp set and dies, and a LOT of products available now at Kat Scrappiness.

I wanted to record a process video earlier to show you how I made this shaker card but I am still recovering from laryngitis and it was so hard for me to talk and craft at the same time. I apologize if I don’t have a process video for you today.

I started out by die-cutting my shaker panel using the new Stitched Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Dies, with the Stitched Rectangle dies. I also used my acetate sheet to adhere to the panel to create the window for my shaker card. I stamped my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored my Octopi with my Copic markers. I also stamped the coral images from an older Lawn Fawn Mermaid For You stamp set. I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.

I wanted to color my card stock using the stitched wave border dies to create some waves, so I used the Inkadinkado Masking paper to cut out my mask. I used my distress inks to color the background. I splattered some water using my watercolor brush to create “bubbles”. Somehow it didn’t look like I had enough bubbles so I used my Copic White Opaque paint and splattered some white paint all over my background. This made it look more realistic!

I finished off the design of the card by using some beautiful sequin mixes from Kat Scrappiness for my shaker element. I used 6mm Metallic Grape, 6mm Sparkling Snow Sequin Mix, White Diamond Sequin Mix and some green seed beads I had from my stash.

    Here is my card:

I hope you got inspired today.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have an amazing day!
