    Magical Quokkas with Maria

Hello and welcome to the Kat Scrappiness, Inc. blog. Maria Russell here with you today with a very simple, yet super cute card featuring the newly-released Magical Quokkas with my new favorite dies called Wizarding Provisions Craft Dies!

Starting by inking up a panel of some Bristol smooth white card stock with Distress oxide inks and adhering the same to some A2-size top-folding card base. I cut a strip of patterned paper from the Magical Quokka 6×6 paper pad to add a little contrast to the colorful background.

To showcase the new products, I die-cut the white frame with the Crafter’s Essentials 1 die set with the Wizarding Provisions Craft Dies. I ink-blended the sorting hat with distress oxide ink and adhered the frame with foam-adhesive for added dimension.

Next, I adhered the Magical Quokka Ephemera to the frame and finished the design with the sentiment from the Simple Sentiment Stamp and die set.

I cannot get over how super cute this new release is! I hope you like this project as much as I do. The supplies I used are listed and linked within the context of this blog post. Thanks for stopping by!

    Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Hello KS Fans! Maria Russell here on the blog with you today and wishing you all Happy Memorial Day weekend!!

Today’s card features one of my favorite stamp set from KS called Summer Quokka Stamp Set, along with Scene Builder Stencil, A2 Stitched Wave Dies, Tropical Island Getaway Dies and the Wood Grain Frame Cut Die.

I inked up a panel of some Bristol Smooth White card stock using the Scene Builder Stencil and some Distress Oxide inks.  I used the Wood Grain Frame Cut Die to die-cut the white frame, along with a few colored card stock that I later on used to die-cut the waves with the A2 Stitched Wave Dies.

Creating the beach scene came together really fast since I’ve already die-cut the frame and the waves.  Adhering the frame onto a blue card base using some foam adhesive to give it some dimension, then adding the waves with liquid glue.

I added the sand dune and the palm tree on the card front using the  Tropical Island Getaway Dies with foam adhesive to make everything look cohesive. I added the cute Quokka from the Summer Quokka Stamp Set that I previously colored using Copic markers. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment with some black ink. Easy Peasy! Here’s another look:

Is anyone in the mood to go to the beach this weekend?! I hope you celebrate Memorial Day not just being with family, but remembering all the heroes who served our country! After all, this country is the “home of the free, because of the brave!“.

  • Memorial Day Card with Maria

    Memorial Day Card with Maria

Hello Kat Scrappiness fans! Maria here on the blog with you today. It has been awhile since I posted here. I am finally back in the United States and settling really well in my home!

For today’s post, I have a very simple Memorial Day inspired card, featuring the A2 Strip Die Set, (Christmas) Wreath Craft Die, Thanks Shadow Sentiment Craft Die and the “star” from the Crafter’s Essentials 1 Die Set.

I started by using the A2 Strip Die Set to die-cut some red and blue card stock. I adhered the strips on some A2-size top-folding notecard with glue.

Next, I die-cut the wreath a few times using the (Christmas) Wreath Craft Die on some white card stock and adhered the same with pop dots for added dimension. I opted to die-cut the “star” from the Crafter’s Essentials 1 die set to make this card more masculine and to finish the design for the wreath.

Lastly, I die-cut the word “thanks” using the Thanks Shadow Sentiment Craft Die and foam-mounted the same for added dimension. Here’s another look:

I hope you like this card and got inspired. Thanks for joining us today!

    From Meow to You

I am currently in the process of moving to another destination overseas with hubby, so this project was made awhile back. I wanted to share this today since this card is super adorable, and features new products from the latest release by Kat Scrappiness, Inc.

Here’s how I made this card:

    • prepare the background panel by ink-blending some Bristol Smooth white card stock with Distress Oxide inks.
    • use some Distress Sprayer to spray some water on the background. Pick up the excess water using some paper towel.
    • use the Stitched Nesting Hexagon Die to die-cut the window.
    • use some washi tape to temporarily adhere the Ball of Yarn Stencil to the ink-blended panel.
    • for added texture, apply some white deco-foil gel with a palette knife and gently lift the stencil. Leave this panel to dry for about half an hour.
    • adhere the background on some A2-size notecard.
    • die-cut the frame by using two of the Stitched Nesting Hexagon Dies on some white glitter card stock.
    • foam-mount the frame for added dimension.
    • adhere the hexagon die-cut on the window.
    • finish the design by stamping the sentiment onto the card using the Pawsome Cats Sentiments Stamp Set with some Versafine Onyx Black Ink and adhere some red heart for some fun texture.

  • Hope Candle & Matching Card

    Hope Candle & Matching Card

Hello everyone! Maria here on the blog with you sharing two projects, showcasing the #Ukraine Strong Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies, along with the Condensed Lowercase Alpha Die Set, Layered Bubbles Stencil Set and Transparent Heart Droplets.

I know that #Ukraine Strong Stamp Set was originally made to support Ukraine (and all profits will be donated to the  Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund. )  However, I am here to show you that you can stretch your stamps and use it for a different purpose.

I made these projects to support my sister who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma in March this year. She went through chemo treatments (I cannot even tell you how hard it really was to see her go through it) and after her PETScan this month, the doctors told us that the chemo worked successfully. Even though she is not out of the woods yet and will still go through a few radiation treatments, we are so happy with this news.

The purple ribbon represents all types of cancer so this blog post is dedicated not only to my sister Maria Pilar, but to all people who are either going through treatments or have survived this nasty disease.

For my first project, I decided to make this “Hope” candle. In my sister’s case, it just goes to show you that there is always HOPE at the end of the tunnel, and the power of prayer is really STRONG! You just need to believe that you can do it, and have faith in God to work his mysterious ways!

Here’s how I made this project:

My next project is the matching card to go with this candle.

I hope you like these projects and got inspired. Below, you will find links to the supplies used to create these projects.
