    Proud of You!

    Happy Friday Kat Scrappiness Friends!

Tasha here sharing a graduation card tutorial featuring the A2 Postcard Die and “Merry Critters” Stamp Set!

I used the A2 Postcard Die for the center card and ink blended yellow stars with the new Falling Stars Stencil. I love the variety of star sizes and the falling star pattern!

See my full card making tutorial on the Kat Scrappiness YouTube Channel!

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZP6YwUINTo]

The owl character used is from the “Merry Critter” Stamp Set and I added the cap and gown to go with the graduation theme. Owl images are great for grad cards and this one is just too cute!

The top sentiment “Proud of You” was created with the Proud Of You Sentiment W/Shadow Die. The gold glitter shadow layer is so pretty and the colors coordinate perfectly with the stenciled background! In addition, I stamped “Happy Graduation Day” with red & black ink. The postcard die adds lines to write a greeting, but also works to line up stamped sentiments.

Lastly, I added yellow enamel dots and layers of orange cardstock and star pattern paper to complete the card.

    Have a wonderful day!

  • Congrats Grad Mini Slimline Card

    Congrats Grad Mini Slimline Card

    Happy Monday!!

It’s Sheri here today with a Congrats GRAD card using featuring the Falling Stars Stencil, a couple dies and some gold foil!

Super easy to make and love the elegant design! The hardest part is waiting for the Deco Foil Trasfer Gel Duo to dry but I just worked on cutting all the layers and elements that were needed to assemble the card.

    Steps to Create Card:

    • Take a 6″ x 4″ black piece of card stock (start larger that your final panel size to allow you to pick the best area to cut out with your die), Falling Star Stencil, pallet knife, and Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo and apply a light coat. Clean stencil and set panel aside to dry. To be safe I let it dry for approximately 1 hour.
    • Cut and Score black Mini Slimline card base: 6″ x 3 1/2″ (6″ x 7″, scored at 3 1/2″ on 7″ side).
    • Cut Gold Mat: 5 5/8″ x 3 1/8″ using the Mini Slimline Never Ending die set.
    • Cut Black Stitched Mat: 5 1/2″ x 3″ using Mini Slimline Double Stitched die set.
    • Cut the letters “G“, “R“, “A“, and “D” out a total of three times to stack for dimension. You will need 2 in black and 1 in gold glitter card stock from the Condensed Uppercase Alphabet die set. Stack and glue the gold glitter letter on top of each stack. This adds dimension without the need to add foam tape.
    • Cut out the “Congrats” a total of three times in black card stock using the Congrats w/Shadow die. Stack and glue the three together.
    • Once your panel has dried, it’s time to add Gold Foil. By using the Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo you can apply the foil with or without a laminator. I used my Mini Minc to apply the foil. If you would like try without heat, here’s a great tutorial by ThermOWeb.
    • After I foiled the panel I used cut it down to 5 3/8″ x 2 3/4″ using the Mini Slimline Never Ending die set.
    • Assemble the card.
    • To finish off the inside of the card I lined the inside: Gold Glitter Mat: 5 1/2″ x 3″ using Mini Slimline Double Stitched die set, Black card stock Mat: 5 5/16″ x 2 13/16″ & White Panel: 5″ x 2 1/2″ using the Mini Slimline Never Ending die set.

    Card Measurements:

    • Black Mini Slimline Card Base: 6″ x 3 1/2″ (6″ x 7″, scored at 3 1/2″ on the 7″ side)
    • Gold Mat: 5 5/8″ x 3 1/8″
    • Black Stitched Mat: 5 1/2″ x 3″
    • Black Panel: 5 3/8″ x 2 3/4″

    Inside of Card:

    • Gold Mat:5 1/2″ x 3″
    • Black Mat: 5 5/16″ x 2 15/16″
    • White Panel: 5″ x 2 1/2″

Slimline Graduation Card | Adding Glitter with a Stencil | Call Me Crafty Al

    Hello crafty friends!

It’s Alicia a.k.a. Crafty Al here to share a look at the slimline graduation card that I created with Kat Scrappiness goodies including the NEW Falling Starlights stencil!

To create the background on the card front I did an ombre blend from bottom to top using a blue ink. I then set up the Falling Starlights Stencil and used the same blue ink for a layer of stars. After blending the blue stars I used Deco Foil Transfer Gel DUO with the stencil and added silver glitter and set it aside to dry. To cover the full length of the slimline card front, I did have to shift the stencil. Make sure to watch my video (linked below) to see how I shifted the stencil.

To finish the card I cut the word “CONGRATS” from blue and silver cardstock using the Condensed Uppercase Alphabet die set and layered them together with a bit of an offset.

You can check out my video for the full process…

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed today’s card!

  • So Proud of You!

    So Proud of You!

Good Morning All of My Card Making Friends!

This is Kathy from Expressive Paper.  I have been busy making cards for fall and Halloween.  Then I remembered December is not too far in the future and I need a graduation card!  This card is pretty simple and perfect for your graduate.

    Card Details

    •  I cut 6 of the “Proud of You” pieces and one of the shadows with a layering card stock
    • I used the 5 X 7 Stitched Rectangle Dies.  This is a 6 piece rectangular die set that is perfect for larger cards. Select the largest frame and the frame two sizes smaller. (your die cut word should fit into the rectangle)
    • Use whatever ink you use for ink blending and blend the shadow die piece. I used the colors of the school the student is graduating from. I also used the Mini Ink Blending Brushes
    • I next took a pearlescent spray and used it on the shadow and the card pieces.
    • Cut, fold and score your 5 x 7 card base
    • Adhere 5 of your “Proud of You” to the smaller stitched rectangle. I centered the dies but you could stagger them, add more whatever you want!
    • Adhere the 6th die cut on top of the shadow and place it in the bottom third of your card.
    • I added foam tape to the back of the main panel for dimension.
    • Adhere some Grey Opal Pearls to your card panel and you are done.

Thank you so much for visiting the blog.  I would appreciate it if you would follow my blog I would love for you to join me on Instagram too! Currently, Kat Scrappiness is having a sale on all things in the Halloween and  Thanksgiving categories.  The sale goes on until October 25th so please take advantage of it! • Congrats – Graduation Card

    Congrats – Graduation Card

Hello crafters!  It’s Caren here back on the blog.  Today I have a mini slimline graduation card for you.  I live in a college town (Go Cowboys!), and our colors are black and orange.

I used the newly released Congrats with Shadow die with the Zig Zag mini slimline die.  I die cut my zig zag panel from white card stock and used the Balloon stencil with distress ink to ink blend onto the panel.  I splattered with black ink onto this panel.  I adhered the Congrats sentiment and the graduation cap to the panel.  Adhered that panel onto a piece of black card stock and then onto my mini slimline card base.  I finished off the card by adding a few silver pearls.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  • Congrats….you nailed it!

Hello everybody! I am excited to stop by today and share another card I’ve created using fabulous products from Kat Scrappiness. Today’s card is a Congratulations card. I am planning on sending it off to a wonderful young man who will be graduating this year.

My card is an A7 card which measures 5″ X 7″. I started off my creating my card base using 110lb. Neenah Solar White Card Stock. I then cut down a piece of black card stock to measure 4-7/8″ X 6-7/8″, followed by another piece of white card stock to measure 4-3/4″ X 6-3/4″.

I took my 4-3/4″ X 6-3/4″ piece of white card stock and using some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks and the Dad’s Tools 6X8 Layered Stamp Set by Kat Scrappiness, I stamped the nails across the card stock.

I knew that I wanted to add more color to my card, so using the star from the Swatches 3X4 Clear Stamp Set by Kat Scrappiness and some more Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink, I stamped stars throughout.

I also decided that I wanted to use the sentiment, “you nailed it!” from the Dad’s Tools 6X8 Layered Stamp Set on my card as well. I stamped it in the lower right hand corner using Hero Arts Intense Black Ink.

Now for the “Congrats”…. I decided to go with a bright blue glittered card stock and die cut the letters out using the Condensed Uppercase Alphabet Dies from Kat Scrappiness.

Once my letters were adhered, I finished off the card by choosing and adding a few of the different sequins from the Turquoise Sunrise Sequin Mix – Shaker Card Fillers by Kat Scrappiness. I added these pieces to the bottom right portion of my card around the sentiment.

And now my card is complete!! I hope that you enjoyed this quick tutorial and it has helped inspire you to create your own special card as well.  I will list all of the supplies I have used to create this card below.
