  • Not-So-Spooky Halloween Card!

    Not-So-Spooky Halloween Card!

Good morning Kat Scrappiness Friends! Tasha here sharing a Not-So-Spooky Halloween card featuring the new Boo-Gy Ghosts Dies and Creepy & Kooky Paper Pad!

The background was created with a cloud stencil and gray Distress Oxide Ink for the sky. For the ground, I used a piece of scrap paper to mask off the Bottom section and added green ink to look like grass, I love this green and gray color combination! I also added a fence from the Crafters Essentials Halloween Die Set to go with the Halloween look.

See the full card making tutorial on the Kat Scrappiness YouTube Channel!

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uGN_1fkdrA]

The sentiment “It’s time to get Spooky!” was embossed in white and I added orange paper to bring in more color. This greeting pops with the bright white words!

The ghosts are from the new Kat Scrappiness Boo-Gy Ghosts Dies. These little ghosts are so cute and I love the extra accessories! I also like that there are so many different styles, so you can mix and match to customize your project!

Lastly, I added a piece of spider web pattern paper from the new Creepy & Kooky Paper Pad and attached another layer of orange paper before adhering the card to a white card base.

    The completed card measures 5″ x 6-1/4″

Thank you for checking out today’s card and I hope you are inspired to create a not-so-spooky Halloween card!

  • It’s Always Coffee Time Mini Slimline Card and Tutorial!

    Happy Saturday Friends!

Tasha here sharing a coffee-themed mini slimline card tutorial!

The Quokka was stamped with black ink and colored with Copic Markers. I love the Quokka from the Everyday Quokka Stamp Set and thought it would be fun to make a coffee-themed card with the little mug!

The background was created with the cool Mini Slimline Heart Sunburst Die and plaid pattern paper from the Heartfelt Wishes – Slimline Paper Pad. The colors in the plaid paper work perfectly with the coffee theme!

See my full card tutorial on the Kat Scrappiness YouTube Channel!

    [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEHjzUFfnMU]

For the sentiment, I selected a heart from the Stitched Scalloped Heart Die Set and embossed the greeting with white fine embossing powder. The “Let’s Get Caffeinated” Stamp Set has several fun coffee-themed greetings and the designs are fun and modern!

To complete the card I layered a piece of deep orange paper before attaching the card to a white mini slimline card base.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and are inspired to create a coffee-themed mini slimline card!
Also, be sure to check out Kat Scrappiness this weekend and shop the Mother’s Day Sale!

  • See Through Shaker Valentine’s Day Card

See Through Shaker Valentine’s Day Card

    Hello crafty friends!

It’s Alicia a.k.a. Crafty Al here to share a look at the see through shaker card that I created for Valentine’s Day using some of the new products from Kat Scrappiness.

I used the largest heart from the Hearts of Love Shaker Card die set to cut a window in the turquoise cardstock and the card base. For added texture on the turquoise piece I used the NEW Stitched Hearts Coverplate die – I just love the subtle stitched effect it gives.

To create the see-through shaker, I sandwiched some of the NEW Light Turquoise Pearl Mix between 2 scraps of acetate. The silver foil heart on the front was cut with the same heart as the opening. To finish it off, I stamped a greeting for the front and inside from the Valentine Quokkas stamp set.

You can check out my video for the full process…

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed today’s card!

Simply Amazing Card with Ink Smooshed Background

    Hello crafty friends!

It’s Alicia a.k.a. Crafty Al here to share a look at the 5×7 card that I created using some of the new products from Kat Scrappiness.

To create the background I did some ink smooshing and then used the 5×7 Neverending Rectangles die set. I used one rectangle to cut out the main piece and 2 smaller ones to create an inner frame (which I later put on the inside). Before placing these pieces onto the card front I added some embossed line details with a VersaMarker Waterrmark pen and adhered to some sliver foil cardstock.

I cut the Simply Amazing Sentiment with Shadow Die using vellum and silver foil cardstock and to finish off the card I adhered a smattering of pearls from the Midnight Sky pearl mix.

  • Soy Amazing

    Soy Amazing

    Happy Crafters!

Today we have a sushi card for that special person that likes sushi and is deserving of some praise. Kat Scrappiness Wok On Stamp Set is perfect for this simple card.

I started with stamping chop sticks onto the card base to create the background. Being a bit frugal, I cut a smaller layer out of black glitter paper then cut out an even smaller rectangle to be used in a future card. Embossed the sentiment from the stamp set in Alabaster (Brutus Monroe) available at Kat Scrappiness. A small strip of glitter paper to put behind the sentiment and the white layer for the focus stamps were cut using card stock available also at Kat Scrappiness.

Now for the focus of the card and all the fun of coloring. I chose some sushi pieces and condiments to stamp, color, and cut out.

Assembled all the layers and stamped pieces to create the final project. I added a few sequins and the job was finished.

    Product List:

    KS Wok On Stamp set

    BM Alabaster Embossing Powder

KS Silver City II sequin mix

Neenah White 80 lbs Craft paper

Honey Bee Over the Rainbow paper Pad

  • Hello My Crafty Friend

Good morning, crafters!  Today, as I struggle with a nasty cold and cough, I really felt like some bright and happy colors would cheer me up.  Luckily, I have enough patterned paper on hand to last two lifetimes, so it was easy to find this cute teal colored plaid paper from Doodlebug.  I knew I wanted to use that wonderful heart stamp from the Kat Scrappiness Swatches stamp set, and I decided to make the image pop by using some turquoise embossing powder.

After cutting my paper to 4×5.25 inches, I used a pencil and ruler to find the center of the piece and add faint lines for a guide.  I knew I wanted to create a “burst” pattern of hearts and wanted to keep things well-spaced.  I then dusted over the paper with my anti-static tool and reached for my favorite sticky embossing ink, VersaMark.

The stamping might look complicated, but it’s really quite easy!  I just stamped 4 hearts in the center, keeping the bottom points and top dimples on those pencil lines.  I also left a little space around each heart so they wouldn’t look crowded.  I added my first round of turquoise embossing powder and melted it in, heating the paper from behind to smooth the powder out nicely.  The second round of hearts was first done by adding another 4 hearts right in line with the first 4, then adding angled ones between.  Don’t forget to gently erase all traces of the pencil lines when you’re all done heating!

For my sentiment I am using Kat’s awesome new scripty word die Hello My Crafty Friend.  I love that the words are already arranged for you.  To take advantage of that, I cut the die out of black card stock cut to the same size as my patterned paper.  Now I was able to use that as a template for my words.

To make sure nothing shifted, I lightly taped the template in place with some low-tack tape.  I cut the words from a piece of 100-lb white card stock and added small dabs of glue to the back with my glue pen.  It was very easy to just snuggle the words right into the template, and I then waited about ten minutes for the glue to set before gently lifting away the template.  Perfect!

And that’s my project for this week.  I hope that you enjoyed this card, and that it inspires you to start using word dies in your own creations.  Stay tuned for more beautiful projects from our Design Team using all the new items for the April release.  Happy crafting!

  • Xmas Tree cards with Angeline

    Xmas Tree cards with Angeline

Ho ho ho! Angeline here with some (early) Christmas cards. Kat Scrappiness has some amazing dies, stamps and sequins perfect for the holidays, so let’s take a look!

Today I am featuring the Stitched & Layered Christmas Tree Die by Kat Scrappiness; which is great to be a focal point for your holiday cards and with just one die, I could make 2 cards!

For my first card, I die cut the Christmas tree from some DCWV Christmas patterned papers and used the stitched die cuts to adhere it on my card front. Then I added some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse [Indian Gold] to the top/bottom of my card — it is so shiny and pretty!

For the sentiment, I die cut the “naughty” word from the Naughty Christmas Stamp Set with Matching Die by Kat Scrappiness and embossed it with some WOW Embossing Powder [Metallic gold rich ultra high] to get the “ultra” embossed look! I also used the same stamp for the rest of the sentiment.

    ***

And because I did the die cut earlier with the Stitched & Layered Christmas Tree Die by Kat Scrappiness, I was left with a “negative” so I decided to make a second card with it. I used the same Nuvo Embellishment Mousse [Indian Gold] to “frame” the tree. Then before I adhere it to my front with foam adhesive, I filled in the “negative” areas with lots of Kat Scrappiness sequins (supplies listed below).

Here is the list of supplies I used to make this card. For all the supplies linked, you can get it from Kat Scrappiness store. Do remember to use my code “Angeline10” to get 10% off your order! Happy shopping.

  • Grateful

Hey my friends, Cheryl again today, with another card project for you. Today’s card is mostly just dies and patterned paper. Added one tiny stamp and a few sequins. So, let’s get to it.

I used the KS Never Ending Dies and the new KS Border Dies. I also took advantage of some of the cute images in my patterned paper pad. I love to use them, everything coordinates, and they are quick and easy cards. You could whip some out really fast. The papers I used are from Authentique, called Bountiful.

I used the KS Never Ending Dies to cut the dark patterned paper in the background and also to cut the patterned paper squares. I cut the ivory cardstock and used a fall embossing folder. I matted each of the squares and the ivory piece on rust colored cardstock, for a pop of color. I also cut a piece of the dark brown patterned paper and used the KS Fancy Scalloped Border Dies on the top edge. I chose a sentiment from Hero Arts Thank You Messages and embossed it with gold embossing powder.

I used foam tape on the back side of the squares and spaced them out evenly from top to bottom. I then added the entire panel to an A2 piece of ivory cardstock. I chose some sequins from KS Sangria Masquerade Sequin Mix, scattered them around and glued in place using liquid glue.

So that’s it. Easy and yet cute. No one says a nice card has to take a long time to make, and these elements included in paper pads are great to use! Hope you got a bit of inspiration. Here’s where you can find these products and many more.

  • Nuvo Glimmer Paste Background & Lola the Giraffe with Angeline

Nuvo Glimmer Paste Background & Lola the Giraffe with Angeline

Hi there! Angeline here to share with you a card I made today using the ever cute Kat Scrappiness Lola the Giraffe stamp set. I also have a process VIDEO right at the end of this post, to show you step-by-step on how I made this.

First, I created my glittery background using Nuvo Glimmer Paste – Golden Crystal and Nuvo Glimmer Paste – Peridot Green. These glimmer paste are just sooooo pretty and shiny! Plus, it dries fairly quickly and the glitter does not rub off when it is dried. SCORE! I used The Crafter’s Workshop stencil “Mini Daisy Clusters” with the glimmer paste and wa-la — my very own shimmery background!

Then I embossed the thank you sentiment from the Hero Arts Thank You Messages stamp set on some vellum, then popped Lola the Giraffe on some foam adhesive — and I am done!

Here is the process video on how I made this card.
