Hi it’s Lisa from Oh So Cute By Lisa and I am up on the blog today featuring a slimline card using the brand new Wonky Stitched Nesting Slimline Dies. The new release over at Kat Scrappiness brought with it quite a few new slimline dies to really dress up your slimline cards! These new dies include the Stitched Slimline Wave Die that is the perfect size for slimline cards and lets you add waves to your cards with a fun stitched edge.

    Here is the card recipe:

    1. I started with some vellum and swiped 2 different colors of Distress Oxide Ink across the paper in no real pattern. I used Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon. I splattered some water over the paper and blotted it off with a paper towel to give it the look of water.

    2. After the panel was dry I die cut 2 dolphins using the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Dolphin Dies. I also wanted the waves to be cut from the same panel so I used the Wonky Stitched Nesting Slimline Dies and the Stitched Slimline Wave Die to cut out 3 panels that would fit the slimline panel from side to side and also have the stitched edging like the rest of the card. As you can see in this picture I also cut out the top panel of the slimline card in white card stock using the Wonky Stitched Nesting Slimline Dies

    3. Once the vellum pieces were cut it was time to prepare the large white panel. I decided to do some stenciling and give the background some clouds.  I used a cloud stencil and a blending foam to stencil on some clouds with blue ink. I just love the look of those big puffy clouds.

    4. Once the clouds were done I added the sentiment using some green ink. After I adhered the dolphins to the panel I stamped some water splashes using the same green ink to match the sentiment. I also included a cute little sun die cut with a fun stamped face.

    5. It was time to put everything together so I adhered my 3 vellum wave panels to the bottom of the white panel using double sided tape at the bottom of the waves so they would look 3-D on the card.

The whole panel was adhered using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to a piece of mint card stock measuring 8.5″ x 3.5″. For some extra watery fun I added a bunch of Kat Scrappiness Sparkling Clear Droplets. They also look great around cards in photographs (added bonus)!

Here is one more look at the whole card.  I really enjoyed putting this card together!

    Under The Sea

I wish I could go scuba diving. I’d love to see all the wonders of the ocean!  I tried it once, but got very claustrophobic and didn’t get to see much under the sea {insert sad face}.   At least I got a glimpse of it in my craft room using these two beautiful Kat Scrappiness dies!

For my card, I cut white cardstock using the Under The Sea background die — isn’t it gorgeous?!  I blended two Distress Oxide inks using the Pink & Main Ergonomic Blending Brush over the diecut then placed a piece of silver Craft Perfect Mirror Cardstock behind it.

Dolphins are such beautiful, graceful animals!  I used the Stitched Dolphins Die set to cut navy cardstock to add the dolphin silhouettes.

  • Dolphin Paradise

    Dolphin Paradise

    Hi card crafting folks,

Sharing a fun card to send out for any occasion. Used the Kat Scrappiness dies to create this water scene.

Step one was to die cut the dolphin and waves in various shades of blue.

Next step was to stencil clouds on the A-2 layer one.

Step three was to die cut a yellow sun using the embossed edge circle dies. I then ink blended shades of yellow onto the sun and splatted a bit of water to create texture. Next I layered the shades of blue wave border die strips onto the card. I stenciled white highlights onto the waves to create the setting sun light on the water. I added the dolphin die cut in the dark gray in front of the sunset.

The final step was adding the sentiment banner and some acrylic bubbles. The layer was then attached to the coordinating card base.

I like this card because it can be used for any occasion by adding the appropriate sentiment on the inside.

Supplies: KS embossed edge circle dies

    KS wave border dies

    KS dolphin die

    Acrylic bubbles

    Don’t Flip Out…

Hey there, Cheryl here…thanks for coming by! I have a card today using one of the BRAND NEW dies from KatScrappiness. Her very own dies! And they’re adorable!!! Check out what I did with the Stitched Dolphin Dies.

I started out by playing with some Distress Oxide Inks in Broken China, Faded Jeans, and Cracked Pistachio and created a watery looking background. I went back and forth numerous times till I got what I was hoping for…never know with water, lol! I then cut the piece with a KS Embossed Large Nested Rope Dies. I arranged the two KS Stitched Dolphin’s Dies where I wanted them and ran through my Big Shot. I added acetate on the back side and created wells to fill with seed beads from my stash. I chose a clear glass color. Then added foam tape and covered over the wells with more acetate. That’s the best way for me to keep them in and line up the card front easier to the card base.

I didn’t want to  just throw away the dolphin cut outs, so I cut again with a pearlized ivory colored cardstock and offset them just a bit. I added foam squares to the backs right behind the head and used liquid glue at the tails. It appears they’re jumping off the card front, lol. I offset these enough to see the shaker bits from underneath. I love the sound of shakers as much as seeing the bits shake about, lol. I added a black sticker dot for the eyes.

I then took a piece of the same pearlized cardstock and die cut using the same rope dies only a smaller one. I then lined it back in the die and shifted it to get a square and did a partial die cut. I chose a blue ink to match the background and stamped a sentiment from my stash that I thought fit nicely with the theme of the card. I popped it up with foam squares.

I then went in with some KS Blue Waters Jewels Sequin Mix and the muted silver color from the Sangria Masquerade Sequin Mix  and scattered them about. I also added a few drops of Grey Mist Nuvo Jewel Drops  here and there to look like water drops. I finished by brushing a bit of  Clear Overlay Sparkle Marker by Spectrum Noir to add a bit of glimmer to the dolphins. I then added the entire piece to an A2 size card base of Neenah Solar White in the 110 pound weight.

And that’s it. Hope you like my project and will head over to KatScrappiness  and check out the supplies I linked above and find lots more awesome things! Happy shopping and happy crafting!
