  • Gate Fold Card

Good morning, crafters!  Thank you for joining me today for my gate fold card project featuring some brand new items from Kat Scrappiness.  In this card I used the Wine Not stamp set, the Wine Not dies, the Peacock Backdrop die, and one of the Double Stitched Circle dies.  Let’s go ahead and walk through the steps I used to make this card project.

The first step was to create an ink-blended background panel.  I used one of my favorite color combinations of Distress Ink in Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, and Seedless Preserves.  Although my edges aren’t perfectly smooth and flawless, I will be die cutting this piece so I know that the imperfections will disappear 🙂  I also spritzed just a bit of water on it because I love the look of it and simply couldn’t resist!  Once the panel was completely dry, I ran it through my Big Shot with the Peacock Backdrop die, and then cut the panel lengthwise into two equal pieces.

The second step was to create my gate fold card base, which is very easy to do.  I simply cut an 8.5×11″ piece of card stock in half so that I have an 8.5×5.5″ piece.  Then I scored a line at 2 1/8″ and another at 6 3/8.”  You could also score once at 2 1/8″, rotate your piece around and score again at the same measurement – whichever you prefer.  The idea is that you will have two flaps that fold over the front and meet neatly in the middle.  I then attached the two ink blended panels from step one to the outside of the gate flaps.

For the focal piece, I cut a circle of the same color card stock with one of the Double Stitched Circle dies.  These dies are awesome – I particularly love the fact that you get a stitched line around the circle piece, and it also leaves behind a stitched line on the base piece (I save all of these to use in future projects.)  I also cut a strip of card stock to 8.5×1.5″ which will fold around the card and be secured in the middle with this stitched circle.  This will be my belly band to slide over the completed card and hold the gate closed.

I used the Wine Not dies to cut out a little wine bottle, a wine glass, and the piece that makes the wine inside the glass.  I just love these cute dies!  They’re also a nice size – bigger than many other brands, which makes things SO much easier.  I really hate fiddling with itsy bitsy pieces!

I decided to do some more ink blending on these pieces, and I am SO thrilled with how they turned out!  I used the same Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers, but only brushed against one edge and let it fade away to white.  This gives such a soft look, especially against the more vibrant background panel and rich card stock color.  I gave these pieces a moment to dry so they wouldn’t smudge, then attached them flat to my stitched circle.  The circle was then attached to my belly band piece, and I made sure to check my spacing by sliding the band on and off my card base.  You want your band to be fitted, but loose enough to slide easily.

Whenever I used a colored card base, I like to insert a white panel on the card interior.  I also decided to put my sentiment stamp from the Wine Not stamp set on this piece, using the same Peacock Feathers ink.  Did you notice that the “i” in “wine” is a little wine bottle?  Love this!!

And here is my finished card!  I am very happy with this one, and will have to send it to one of my wine-loving friends.  I will also have to spend some serious time making backgrounds with the Peacock Backdrop die – it is absolutely gorgeous.  If you ever struggle with what to do on a card front, I highly recommend that you get this die for yourself 🙂  I have included a shopping link below for the Kat Scrappiness website, and remember to use your discount code “CYNTHIA10” to save 10% off your entire purchase.  See you next time with more Kat Scrappiness goodness!

  • Let’s Get Caffeinated with Newton’s Nook

Good morning, crafters!  Today’s card is featuring something near and dear to my heart – coffee!!!  I always love stamp sets that feature coffee images and sentiments, and the new Kat Scrappiness Let’s Get Caffeinated stamp set is no exception!  There are plenty of nice, big stamps here, as well three coffee beans in various sizes, and even a little heart.  I combined this set with the Newton’s Nook “Newton Loves Coffee” stamp set, which is also available on Kat’s website.  Let’s go ahead and go through the steps I used to create this card.

I first started by creating a focal piece using a rectangle of white card stock and my images.  I stamped the cat image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink because I knew I would be using my Copic alcohol markers to color it.  For the sentiment, I used the gorgeous VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with Ranger Clear embossing powder.  You will see me using this combination time and again on my projects, but it really makes for a gorgeous sentiment!

I wanted to incorporate some ink sponging on this card, so I selected a soft sky blue card stock and some Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I had this adorable heart stencil in my stash and knew it would look perfect behind my kitty.  I concentrated the ink color in the two opposite corners, letting the color naturally fade out as it moved towards the center.  I really like using this simple trick to add just a bit of interest to my ink blending.

To carry on with the heart theme, I used the heart stamp from Kat’s stamp set along with some of the gorgeous Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink.  The color is so rich and just the perfect shade of real red!  I also heat set the hearts with more of the Ranger Clear embossing powder, then fussy cut them out to add to my card.  I put tiny pieces of foam tape behind them to add a touch of dimension.

Once my focal piece was colored and complete, I added a dark brown card stock as a mat layer.  I also did the same with my stenciled piece.  I really love how the mats make the layers stand out, as well as give the entire card a more cohesive look.

For assembly, I added the stenciled background layer to a top-folding, white card base.  I also added a pretty strip of red card stock to tie in the reds I used on the focal piece.  I used some strips of foam tape to attach the panel for some subtle dimension.  When using multiple layers, it’s always best to break it up with some dimension as you build your card so that it doesn’t look bulky and jumbled.

And that is my finished card!  I hope that you had fun following along with me this time, and that you found a little bit of inspiration.  I can’t wait to make more coffee themed cards with ALL of the great sentiments in the KS Let’s Get Caffeinated stamp set!  To pick up this set for yourself, I’ve added a shopping link below that’ll take you right to Kat’s website.  Don’t forget to use my coupon code “CYNTHIA10” to receive 10% off your order.  Happy shopping!

  • “A Day At The Zoo” Shaker Card

Hello, crafters!  Cynthia here with my last blog post for the August 2018 Kat Scrappiness release.  For this card, I chose to use the Stitched Scalloped Collage Die, the KS “Sea Coral” sequins mix, and an assortment of Doodlebug papers and images.  This new collage die is just perfect for making shaker cards, so that is the style of card I chose to make.  There is a detailed video link at the end of this post, so please be sure to watch as I work my way through the entire process.

I couldn’t resist using some die cut pieces from Doodlebug’s At The Zoo collection for my card project.  I picked three animals that fit perfectly in the three sections of my collage die, and found three different papers from the coordinating paper pad.  I used a fourth paper in polka dotted orange for the top of my shaker because it tied all of the elements together, and also tied in to the “Sea Coral” sequins mix.  I was so excited when I realized they were a perfect color match!  I will definitely be grabbing a few more bags of this mix with my next Kat Scrappiness order 🙂

I hope that you enjoyed this project, and that you will watch my video.  I go into the details of assembling this card, and also how I made it into a shaker.  If you haven’t yet made one yourself, this collage die might be the perfect way to start.  You can use the entire piece as a shaker like I did, or isolate one or two sections for a partial shaker if you’d like.  It also works beautifully on non-shaker cards as well 🙂  Please be sure to look at the August blog posts from the Design Team to see the different ways that the team has incorporated this die into their work.  I think you’ll be inspired!  I will see you all again next month with even more amazing new products – have an awesome day!

  • Heart-In-Heart Double Shaker Card

Hello again, crafters!  Boy, it sure doesn’t feel like a week has gone by since my last post.  Between vacation, house guests, and getting ready for a new school year, I don’t which end is up anymore!  But luckily I always have my craft supplies to come home to, and this week’s project features both the new Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Heart dies, and a pretty mixture of sequins and jewels.  Let’s go ahead and get into the details.

I started off by die cutting two hearts, the pink one in the largest size, and the mint one two sizes smaller.  I chose these colors because of the Kat Scrappiness “Mint Sparkles” sequins and the “Pretty Pink Jewels” I wanted to use.  In order to make my shaker element the way I wanted, I needed to turn these solid hearts into frames.

To accomplish this, I very lightly drew a pencil line around the inside of the stitched line on each heart.  This line is only a general guide to keep you on track as you cut.  I used my long-handled X-acto blade for the cutting.  I refer to this tool as my “razor blade on a stick,” to remind myself that it’s lethally sharp and not to get too reckless when I use it!  Slow and steady is the best way to use it, not pressing too hard.  When you’re all done, with fingers intact (!), gently erase any pencil lines with a good eraser.

I cut two more hearts of the same sizes out of acetate sheets, then used a strong adhesive to attach them to the backside of my frames.  I used some clear tape to tack down the small heart within the larger one because I wanted it to stay in place.  I then trimmed down some long strips of Scotch foam tape, peeling off the release paper so that it’s completely pliable.  It’s very easy to run it along the curves to get the perfect edges around your hearts.  You want to be careful here because this foam will be the “wall” holding in all of your tiny shaker elements, and you certainly don’t want them coming out.  I then set this piece aside for a bit to work on a background panel.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned before how much I love to create my own patterned paper, and this was the perfect opportunity.  I found some pretty “Bubble Gum” pink ink and “Mint Macaron” to create a simple plaid design.  To this I added some stitched line stamping in a glittery gold embossing powder.  This helped bring some bling to the card, as well as matching some of the awesome sparkle in Kat’s sequins and jewels!

Once my stamping was done, I layered this custom piece onto some of the same pink card stock as before.  Using a matting layer like this is a very easy way to give your card a finished, polished look.  Then I attached the layered piece onto my card base, which for this project is a white 5″ square card.

Now for the bling!  I started by pouring some of the “Mint Sparkles” sequins into the smaller heart, then added just a few of the tiniest Pink and White Jewels.  I poured more sequins into the bigger heart, then added both colored jewels in an assortment of sizes.  I made sure that the jewels would be face-up in the shaker window so that the facets would sparkle.  The shaker is too shallow for them to flip over, but roomy enough to allow them to slide around.  If you ever find your shaker is too shallow for the filler you want to use, simply add a second layer of foam tape on top of your first to get a deeper shaker.

Does anyone else save their sentiment until the last step like I do?  Sometimes I can really paint myself into a corner doing that, but this is why banner dies are such a life-saver.  I easily found a simple “You Have My Heart” sentiment that fit perfectly into this die from Kat’s “Crafters Essentials 1” die set.  I heat set it in the same sparkling gold embossing powder I used in my plaid background on the same mint card stock as my heart frame.  Again, this consistency in products is what’s going to bring all of your card elements together in the end.

And that is my finished card!  I just love the soft colors, and it was all inspired by those gorgeous sequins!  I am definitely going to be stocking up on this mix because I never want to run out of it 🙂  I hope that some of the ideas I shared this week will inspire you to try them, especially nesting a shaker within a shaker.  To pick up any of the supplies I used today, please follow the individual links, or use the shopping link below to get started.  Don’t forget that you can also use my discount code “CYNTHIA10” to save 10% off your entire purchase.  I’ll see you again at the end of the month, and have a crafty day!

  • “Let’s Celebrate” Birthday Card

Hello, crafters!  Thank you for joining me today as I create a fun, shaker birthday card using the new Kat Scrappiness Crafters Essentials #2 die set.  This set contains a full cover-plate die with chevron cutouts and full stitched detailing.  The complimentary pieces can be used to enhance this cutout piece, or used in any combination you desire.  For today’s project I decided to use three different dies, so let’s go ahead and get into the details.

For the cover plate die, I found this awesome sheet of 12×12 birthday paper in my stash.  It already had the “Happy Day!” sentiment on it, as well as the colorful dots, so I let that set my color scheme.  I also cut out a strip of blue card stock so that I had all the little chevrons in that pretty color.

On the backside of my panel I ran a strip of double-sided tape over the cut out openings (you can see it in the picture above.)  Then I just laid the blue chevrons into place, which fit perfectly like puzzle pieces.  This really took very little time, but it still creates a very pretty look.  I could have used multiple colors for this step, but I didn’t want it to end up too busy.  Too many individual colors vying for attention on a single card will end up looking messy instead of fun.

For my next step I cut the stitched flag die out of a sunny yellow card stock, and then cut a stitched square out of the center which will become my shaker window.  The square die is from the new Kat Scrappiness Crafters Essentials #1 die set.  As an accent piece, I also cut the little stitched banner die from some black card stock.  I’m so glad that my patterned paper had that black circle on it – black is my favorite accent color to use!

For my shaker window, I added a piece of acetate to the back of my flag piece and let the liquid adhesive dry thoroughly.  Not all tapes will hold the acetate securely, so if you’re not sure, just use a nice paste adhesive that dries clear and you’ll be fine.  I added some foam tape pieces around the backside of the flag, both to secure the sequins from spilling out and also give them a little room to shake around.  You’ll notice that I trimmed the top edge of my flag to better fit my card, otherwise it would cover the Happy Day! sentiment.  I then added this super colorful “Rainbow Splash” Kat Scrappiness sequins mix to my shaker and secured it to my card.

For just a bit more color, I sprinkled in a bit of the “Hearts On Fire” Kat Scrappiness confetti, which is a great mix of different sized hearts in a lovely shade of red.  I particularly like that these hearts aren’t glittery – they are neutral enough to fit into many different kinds of projects.

The final touch was adding the little black banner.  I happened to find a stamp from a birthday stamp set that fit it perfectly, so I stamped it in VersaMark sticky ink and then added my Hero Arts White embossing powder.  This powder always melts smoothly, and isn’t too thick even for delicate letters like these.  I popped this banner up on foam tape as well and let the one end slightly overlap my flag piece.

And that is my finished card!  I hope that you enjoyed this project as much as I did, and that you give shaker cards a try if you haven’t already.  Kat literally has hundreds of sequins and confetti options in her shop, and you’re sure to find many mixes you can’t live without!  Also, be sure to use my discount code “CYNTHIA10” to receive 10% off your entire order.  Thanks for reading my blog post today, and happy crafting!

  • “All Boy” Card with Crafters Essentials 1

Good morning, crafters!  Thank you for joining me for today’s blog post where I make a card using five different dies from the Crafters Essentials 1 die set.  This versatile die set has endless possibilities – I’ve been using it all month and haven’t made the same card twice!  Let’s go ahead and dive into some of the details.

I’ve mentioned before that I have a tendency to mostly make feminine cards, which is something that I’m working on.  There are plenty of masculine and gender-neutral papers and stamps out there, I just need to buy some!  Luckily, I had this older paper pad in my stash, and I absolutely love the passport stamp design.  The little diamond paper is the perfect balance to it, and I matted each of them on some dark navy blue card stock.  This helps define the edges, separate the layers, and give the whole design a visual pop.

I cut the large, stitched flag piece out of a pretty orange paper and added my sentiment stamp directly on top.  I used my favorite stamping ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black.  The little banner and the star were cut from more of the same papers, which coordinate perfectly.  I love using these tone-on-tone papers for details because they give the illusion of using a solid color, but still have a subtle pattern.  The final touch was to add three dots of the Nuvo Glitter Drops in “Orange Soda.”  The color was just perfect, and the glitter is subdued enough that it doesn’t seem too flashy.

And that’s my finished card project for this week.  For an in-depth look at the making of this card, please watch my YouTube video here.  I hope that you enjoyed this one, and got a few ideas about mixing patterns and colors.  Be sure to grab a set of these dies for yourself – there are so many classic shapes and “must haves” in it.  Please be sure to browse through all the other designs for this month on the blog. The design team members have really outdone themselves, and you’re sure to be inspired!  Happy crafting!

  • Floral Card with Crafters Essentials 1

Hello again, crafters!  I hope that you are all doing well, and having a happy July.  With all the sunshine and blooming flowers around, I was inspired to make a card featuring some of my favorite colors and papers.  I’m sure you have a special paper pad that you’ve been waiting to use, and pairing it with the new Kat Scrappiness Crafters Essentials #1 die set is the perfect way to showcase it.  Let’s dive into the details!

For my card I decided to use the large three-window die with stitched detailing.  I cut out a frame with some pink card stock, and will be keeping the three rectangle pieces from the die.  I’ll set two of them aside for future use, but decided to use one for my sentiment stamp.  It’s a nice size for a stacked sentiment like the one I used.  I stamped it with my VersaFine Onyx Black ink, then heat set it with Ranger’s Clear Embossing Powder.

As I usually do, I made a standard A2 sized card base (4.25 x 5.5″) and attached a piece of patterned paper for my background.  I cut the floral paper so that it was just large enough to fit behind my frame piece.  The nice part is that I still have enough of the floral paper piece for a second card project (this is always important for a paper hoarder like me!)

Since I really love the look of ribbon on cards, I decided to cut a piece of this lovely yellow grosgrain ribbon and run it along the side of my frame.  The ribbon is wide and a bit thick, so instead of tying a bow, I just used a second small piece of ribbon to tie a simple knot and clip the ends at an angle.  The backside was secured with some Scotch tape to keep things nice and flat.

Now you guys know that a Kat Scrappiness creation can’t truly be a Kat Scrappiness creation without adding some sequins and bling, right?  I decided on some pretty, green, flat sequins from the “Spring Leaves” mix, as well as a scattering of tiny “Pink Heart Confetti” pieces.  I just attached them with some very tiny dots of Ranger’s Multi Medium Matte, which dries quickly and clear (without the glossy shine of some liquid adhesives).  The sentiment piece was attached with some foam tape for just a bit of dimension.

And that is my completed card for today.  This can easily be mass produced with an assortment of coordinating papers if you’re making a set for someone, and customized with any number of sentiments and embellishments that you would like to use.  And the very best part of all?  This is just ONE of the dies that you get in the set of Crafters Essentials #1.  Can you imagine the huge variety of cards you can make with 13 dies at your fingertips?!  I would recommend this set to any crafter of any skill level – especially someone just starting to collect dies, or anyone looking to make the most of their craft budget.  Please be sure to use the following link to shop at the Kat Scrappiness website: http://www.katscrappiness.com?aff=121

  • Stitched Scalloped Button Card

Hello, crafters!  I hope that you’re all enjoying your Summer, and looking forward to your July 4th celebrations.  Today I’m going to share a card project I made using several shapes from Kat’s new Stitched Scalloped die sets.  These dies will literally work for every single card that you make, and when you mix and match multiple shapes, your options are truly endless.  Let’s get started!

My first step was to cut out all of the shapes I would be using.  I used the largest Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die to cut a piece of lovely floral patterned paper.  Then I cut two Stitched Scalloped Oval dies in two sizes to create my focal piece.

My final cutting was using the smallest of the Stitched Scalloped Circle dies to create my flowers.  These are super cute, and just the right size to allow for a small grouping on a card front.  I used a pretty piece of raspberry pink felt to create them, which cut just as crisply as my card stocks did.  Since I knew that I would be sewing my buttons on, I “felt” like using felt!  Haha!

To create my stems and leaves, I lightly penciled in the lines to give me something to follow.  Then I used my piercing tool and mat to create a series of tiny holes along my lines.  After that, it was easy to use some DMC embroidery floss (all 6 strands together) and a tapestry needle to sew in my lines.  The thick thread completely covered my pencil lines so that I didn’t need to fuss with erasing them.  I think they turned out pretty cute!

Now for some simple assembly.  To help prevent any bumpiness from the threads and knots, I carefully arranged some foam tape pieces across the back of my focal piece.  I centered it on the card and pressed it firmly into place.  All that was left to do was add my sentiment.

For my little sentiment banner, I selected a pretty simple message from one of my many stamp sets.  That way, I can send this card for any occasion.  It’s nice to have a good assortment of all occasion cards on hand so that you’re never caught without one.  I adhered it to the lower right corner of the focal piece, using a little piece of foam tape on the end to raise it up to the same height.

And that’s the finished card!  I hope that you enjoyed this project and got inspired to try something similar.  I cannot encourage you enough to add some (or all) of these Stitched Scalloped shapes to your crafting stash.  They are SO versatile, and really give you some serious bang for your buck!  Please remember that you can use my discount code “CYNTHIA10” when shopping at Kat Scrappiness to save 10% off your entire order.  Thank you for reading my post, and happy crafting!

  • “You’re One In A Chameleon” Card

Hello, crafters!  I’m back today with a brand new card using the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Circle Dies and Lawn Fawn’s “One In A Chameleon” Stamp Set and matching Lawn Cuts Dies.  These fabulous new circle dies are absolutely a must have in your collection, and with seven different sizes to choose from, you won’t have any trouble finding just the right size for your projects.  The bright colors and graphic designs make this card pop, but it’s really quite simple to recreate.  Let’s get started!

The first thing I did was choose two of the scalloped circle dies and cut them out in black and white card stock.  I found a plain circle die that was just a bit smaller and cut a blue piece to act as my “sky” background.  A softer blue could also be used here, but I just loved that rich aqua.  I then attached them all together, centering each layer carefully.  I chose not to add any dimension between these layers because I will be popping up the entire focal piece later on.

These adorable images are super quick and easy to color, and I chose to keep things bright and vivid with some Copic alcohol marker coloring.  I shaded my little branch with two lighter browns, then flicked some “bark” onto it with a deeper chocolate color.  The little leaves are stamped with green ink – any shade that you have on hand will do.  I stamped and hand-cut the tiny heart as well, but you will see that I didn’t end up using it in my final design.

As I was trying to figure out where to put my one little stamped heart, I luckily remembered that I had a bag of these adorable heart confetti shapes from Kat’s shop!  The pretty red is just perfect, and I had two sizes to choose from.  They were easily attached with tiny dabs of the Ranger Multi Medium Matte adhesive.  Aren’t they just so cute?

This gorgeous green (lime green? green apple?) is my very favorite color in the world, so I knew I had to use it with my cute chameleon.  The graphic pattern speaks for itself, so I just used a strip of it, adding three wraps of baker’s twine and a narrow strip of black card stock to balance the colors.  This is a favorite layout of mine, so you will definitely be seeing it again in the future  🙂

I used some of my 3M foam tape to add a little dimension to my focal circle.  I wanted lots of stability, but I also left some open space so that my piece could “straddle” the baker’s twine beneath it.  Believe it or not, those few strands could really make your circle bumpy if you’re not careful!

As my sentiment, I naturally used the perfect one that comes in the stamp set.  I opted for clean lines again, so I stamped it on black card stock and trimmed it neatly into a rectangle.  The white heat embossing really makes the words pop, but you could use maybe another color from the design if you have it in your stash.  I also popped this piece up with some of the same foam tape so that it didn’t get lost in the background.

And that is my card completed!  This one was so much fun to make because I love Lawn Fawn and I love coloring stamped images.  This simple layout is something I encourage you to try, because you can easily adapt it to any type of card you’d like to make.  If you would like to purchase this cute stamp set, and a set of Kat’s Stitched Scalloped Circle Dies, they are available now in her shop.  To receive a 10% discount off your entire order, please be sure to use coupon code “CYNTHIA10” during checkout.  Happy crafting!

  • Flag Flowers Thank You Note

Hello, crafters!  Thanks for joining me for today’s card project.  I was playing around with the Stitched Flag Dies from Kat Scrappiness and realized that I could make some fun flowers with them!  Being a lover of all things floral, it was easy for me to see the dies used in this way.  And with just a few added embellishments to complete the look, I really like how they turned out.  So let’s go through the steps of how I made this card.

The very first thing I did was cut out 8 separate flags.  I used the smallest flag for this, which still makes a good-sized flower for a card front.  You could absolutely use any card stock or patterned paper you like – the whimsical nature of these flowers encourages you to think outside the box.  I knew I wanted to use an assortment of papers from a single 6×6 pad, so I chose a more subtle tone-on-tone pattern for my petals.

To join the “petals,” I simply taped them end to end in pairs, then joined two pairs into a cross shape.  To finish the shape, I offset the crosses so that you get a nice little “flower” with equal spaces between the petals.  For added dimension, you could add another layer of petals underneath cut from the next bigger size flag die.  Or you could also gently bend the petals upwards so they “cup” a bit and will lift off the card front.

For my flower centers I found a layered floral die set in my stash and cut the starburst shape in dark brown card stock.  I then added two circles of yellow, the larger one in a deep sunflower yellow and the smaller circle in a buttercup yellow.  For my leaves I found a Doodlebug cut file in my Silhouette Cameo and cut two of them from a pretty spring green card stock.  If you don’t have dies like this, you could use a small scalloped circle die for the dark brown, and add a yellow brad to the center.  There are TONS of options, so just start playing and go wild with your flowers!

The spring green polka dot and the blue woodgrain papers are both from the same patterned paper pad, and even though the blue paper wasn’t long enough to go across my card front, I absolutely loved it and had to use it.  I cut a piece of the dark brown card stock that was just 1/4″ taller than the blue for matting, then I added the thin strips of polka dot paper behind that.  Since the blue and green are both paper, this triple layer piece isn’t very thick when it’s all together.

I knew that I wanted my flowers in a little cluster off to the left, so I lined my layered panel up to the right side of my card front.  I’m using an A2 size (4.25×5.5″) top-folding card as my base.  I stamped the sentiment from the Dad’s Tools Layered Stamp Set by Kat in Walnut Stain Distress Oxide ink.  I love how crisp and clean this ink stamps!  It’s great for stamping sentiments  🙂  After the stamping was done, I arranged the leaves first and then added the flowers on top, popping them up on foam tape and slightly overlapping them.  The final step was to bring in a bit more yellow by adding Nuvo Crystal Drops in the Dandelion color.  I can’t say enough good things about these drops, and I encourage you to get a bottle or two and give it a try.

And that’s a look at the final card.  I hope that you enjoyed this project as much as I did – I’ve already made this card in 3 different color palettes, and I’m going to try different flower centers, too.  Don’t forget to share your own Kat Scrappiness creations with us for a chance to win prizes each month.  If you’d like to purchase the KS Stitched Flag Dies or the Dad’s Tools Layered Stamp Set, you can use discount code “CYNTHIA10” and receive 10% off your entire order.  Happy crafting!
