    New Slimline Dies!

Hi, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!

Did you notice the Kat released two new slimline nesting die sets earlier this week?  One is Embossed Edged and the other is Stitched Scalloped.  Here is a look at them.

Today, I’m sharing two cards I created using the new slimline dies.  My card bases measure 8.5 x 3.5 inches.  I cut my pieces of heavy weight card stock 8.5×7 and then scored at 3.5 on the 7 inch side.

My first card uses the largest Embossed Edged slimline die from the set.  I die cut this with white card stock.  I then used a stencil, a blender brush, and blue distress ink to create the clouds.  The hills were created using a die from the Crafters Essentials Easter die set and the white cloud die cuts are from the He is Risen die set.  I adhered these directly to my card using wet adhesive. I layered this panel on a piece of gray card stock leaving about a 1/16th edge and adhered it to my white card base.

I stamped and colored, using Copics,  the sloth from the Stewart the Sloth stamp set.   I then cut it out using my Silhouette machine.  I stamped the sentiment “Hang in There” from the same stamp set in black on gray card stock that I had die cut using the Stitched Fishtail banner dies.  I added these to the card using dimensional adhesive.

My second card uses the largest Stitched Scalloped slimline die from the set and a piece of pink polka dot patterned paper.  I adhered this to a piece of dark gray card stock that is slightly larger and glued this panel to my light gray card base.  From that same dark card stock, I die cut the congrats letters three times from the Condensed Lowercase Alphabet dies.  I glued the layers together.  This gives a little bit of dimension to the letters on the card. I adhered these to the card base and added a few sparkling clear droplets.

Thanks for stopping by and I can’t wait to see what everyone creates with these new dies.

  • There’s No Bunny Like You

    There’s No Bunny Like You

Hi everyone, hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.  Has anyone had any extra crafty time over the past few weeks?  Mine has been about the same as I’m working my “real” job from home.  Today, I have a card that can be used for Easter or just a Spring card featuring products from Kat Scrappiness.

My card measures 4 1/2 by 4 1/2, so I cut my yellow card stock 4 1/2 by 9 inches and scored at 4 1/2 inches.  I die cut the largest Stitched Scalloped Square die from white card stock.  This measures about 4 1/4.  I adhered this directly to my card base.

The bunny die is from the Crafters Essentials Easter die set from Kat Scrappiness.  I die cut it from four different coordinating patterned papers.  I adhered the bunnies to the card using dimensional adhesive.  I then glued one pink and light blue bunny tail to two of the bunnies.

I colored my sentiment strip with a coordinating Copic marker and adhered it to the card with dimensional adhesive.  This card was super easy to make and could be mass produced for last minute Easter cards.

  • Easter’s On It’s Way

    Easter’s On It’s Way

Hippity, hoppity…Easter’s on it’s way!  I’m looking forward to Spring with warm weather, blooming flowers and seeing the bunnies in our yard again!  Until then, I’ll just have to enjoy a little Spring in my craft room 🙂

Kat Scrappiness’ newest release has everything you need to create adorable Easter and Spring projects!

For my card, I layered a light blue cardstock cut with one of the Embossed Edge Rectangle Dies.  Using elements from the Crafter’s Essentials Easter Edition Dies, I cut the grass, basket and egg halves.  I love this set…it has so many wonderful dies to use for many occasions!

And how cute is the new Stitched Easter Bunny Outline Dies?!!  I tucked this little guy into the basket and filled it with paper grass.  After edging the egg halves with a light ink, I added these darling embellishments:  Carrot, Chickadee and Hot Pink Bunny Sprinkles.

To finish, I cut lime green cardstock using the Brush Script Happy Easter Word Dies.

  • EGG-stra Awesome Tag

    EGG-stra Awesome Tag

Welcome back to the blog Kat Scrappiness fans!

Today I have a quick and easy tag for you using the adorable

little chick from the Crafter’s Essentials Easter Dies.

To start with I blended 3 different ink colors on to some

card stock and cut out a Stitched Scalloped Nesting Tag Die for the base.

I used a sentiment from the So Egg-citing stamp set from

Your Next Stamp and I stamped it in Lawn Fawn Forget Me Not ink.

After the stamping was done I embossed the tag with a

    polka dot embossing folder.

Next I did some ink blending with Squeezed Lemonade

Distress Ink on white card stock and die cut the chick out of it.

I applied some Spiced Marmalade ink to the beak and feet of the

baby chick. I also cut out the cracked egg from white card stock

and glued the top half over the chick’s head.

I applied foam tape to the chick and adhered it to the bottom of

the tag on top of the bottom of the egg.

Every pretty tag needs some pretty ribbon so I made a bow

out of 3 different color ribbons to match the tag

and finished it off with a big blue button.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed

    my quick and easy tag!

  • Happy Easter – Crafter’s Essentials Easter

Happy Easter – Crafter’s Essentials Easter

Hi everyone!  Did you get a chance to see all the new dies that were released this month?

Today, I have a shaker card with a lot of Kat Scrappiness products including the new Crafters Essentials: Easter die set and some sprinkles.

I started off by using one of the scalloped stitched circle dies with some blue and while polka dot paper.  I then cut out a circle using the Never Ending circle dies out of pink card stock.  I adhered those pieces together and used the bunny from Crafters Essentials: Easter die set to cut the bunny out.  Next, I adhered a piece of clear acetate to the back.

For the shaker part, I added white sprinkles and some white hearts from the Black and White heart sprinkles.  I double up the foam adhesive on the back of this and then added a piece of the same pink card stock to the back.

I found some cute pink Easter paper with words relating to Easter in my stash.  I used the Stitched Scalloped rectangles to cut out the front panel of my card.  I strategically cut it out so that the word Easter would be at the bottom of the card.  I then used the word Happy from one of the sentiments from the Happy Fall Ya’ll stamp set to white heat emboss that over the word Easter.

I adhered everything to a white card base and finally added a cute bunny tail with one of the Bunny Tail pom poms!

I decided to add the bunny that was cut from the scalloped circle to the inside of the card.

  • Bunny In A Basket Card

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here. Today is release day for the Crafters Essentials Easter dies. The Crafters Essentials come packed with many dies at an awesome price. When I opened this dieset I already had several ideas brewing. The first idea was a basket with flowers and a bunny. Below are the steps to create your own Bunny In A Basket Card.

    Step 1 – Trim Kraft Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim Black Cardstock to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. Adhere to card front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 3 – Using a background stencil apply Distress Oxide Ink Brushed Corduroy with an ink applicator on White Cardstock. Stamp sentiment to bottom using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Diecut Double Stitched Rectangles to the background. Adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 4 – Diecut Crafters Essentials Easter (bunny in grey and black cardstock, basket in kraft cardstock, bow in orange). Distress the edges of the basket with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo. Adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive only applying the glue to the edges. You want to leave the opening free of glue. Adhere the bunny (grey on top and black on the bottom) using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive Glue only at the bottom of the bunny. Assemble the bow and adhere to card.

Step 5 – Optional – Diecut any flowers die you have or use flowers from your stash. Adhere to the card in the basket opening and if you can intertwine it with the bunny.

This card can be used for any occasion by changing the sentiment and colors. Below is a link to the products used. To receive 10% off your order use code: TINA10 at checkout. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Are you ready to get “wowed” by the design team?  Here are the AMAZING projects from the team:

    CAREN BARTHOLOMEW

Caren used some really cute patterned papers to die cut the basket, the bow and the grass hill from the Crafter’s Essentials – Easter dies set.  She die-cut the little chickie with some white card stock and colored it in with some Copic markers.  Caren also used the new Zigzag Rectangle dies and added the sentiment “Happy Easter”.  I love that she mixed and matched a couple of products from the shop.

    LISA GOLZBEIN

For Lisa’s first project, She stamped and colored the bunny, carrots and easter eggs and die-cut the same with the coordinating dies.  She inked up her background with some distress oxide inks and added the clouds to create her seen.  She die-cut the basket from the Crafter’s Essentials Easter dies set on brown patterned paper.  To finish her design, she added the little pop-up Happy Easter sentiment.

For Lisa’s second project, She die-cut the bunny from the Crafter’s Essentials Easter Dies three times on different patterned papers.  To make it more fun, she added the Bunny Tails Pom Pom from the shop.  She used a Polka dot embossing folder to dry emboss her white card stock and adhered this piece on blue patterned paper.  She adhered the three bunnies using foam tape, and added “Hello Spring” as her sentiment.

    PRISCILLA JOSEPH

For Priscilla’s first project, she used the Zig Zag Rectangle dies, Easter Egg Hunt Sequin Mix, the Black & White Heart Sprinkles, and the Bunny Tails White Pom-Poms.  She also added the easter eggs in pastel colors and use a grass border die to die-cut it in white.  I love that she added some googly eye to the bunny.

For Priscilla’s second project, she die-cut the bunny, bow, basket and butterflies using the  Crafter’s Essentials Easter dies set.  She also used the Spring Fling 6×6 paper pack from Echo Park and Easter Egg Hunt Sequin Mix.

    TINA DORNBAUM

For Tina’s first card, she created this BEAUTIFUL pastel-themed background.  She die-cut the little chickie and the egg shell using the Crafter’s Essentials Dies set and colored the chick with alcohol marker.  She added some white jewels to embellish and finish her card design.

For Tina’s second card, she used a brick stencil from her stash and inked up her background with some distress oxide inks.  She die-cut the basket, bow and bunny using the Crafter’s Essentials Easter Dies set.  She added some flowers and leaves and stamped “Happy Easter” to finish her design.  I absolutely LOVE this card!
