    Memorial Day Card with Maria

Hello Kat Scrappiness fans! Maria here on the blog with you today. It has been awhile since I posted here. I am finally back in the United States and settling really well in my home!

For today’s post, I have a very simple Memorial Day inspired card, featuring the A2 Strip Die Set, (Christmas) Wreath Craft Die, Thanks Shadow Sentiment Craft Die and the “star” from the Crafter’s Essentials 1 Die Set.

I started by using the A2 Strip Die Set to die-cut some red and blue card stock. I adhered the strips on some A2-size top-folding notecard with glue.

Next, I die-cut the wreath a few times using the (Christmas) Wreath Craft Die on some white card stock and adhered the same with pop dots for added dimension. I opted to die-cut the “star” from the Crafter’s Essentials 1 die set to make this card more masculine and to finish the design for the wreath.

Lastly, I die-cut the word “thanks” using the Thanks Shadow Sentiment Craft Die and foam-mounted the same for added dimension. Here’s another look:

I hope you like this card and got inspired. Thanks for joining us today!

  • Farming Friends Birthday

Hi Friends! kel here today to share a quick birthday card with you!!

I used the amazing Crafter’s Essentials 1 Dies on this card. I can’t begin to tell you how easy this makes putting a card together!! I have been in a funk lately and the mojo has been hiding from me… so when I sat down at my desk today to put a card together, I had the hardest time thinking of what I wanted to make!! Finally I pulled out the Crafter’s Essentials 1 Dies and this card just came together like magic! Minimal brainstorming on my part, which really helped motivate the mojo to come out and play lol! Then I used these two adorable farming friends from the Hay There by Lawn Fawn stamp set and then colored them up with my Copics. I added the flags, also from the Crafter’s Essentials 1 Dies to the top of the card, and then stamped out the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Everyday Brush Strokes Stamp Set using a nice red ink pad straight onto the white piece.

Quick and simple and easy, thanks to these dies. Seriously! Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon! Don’t forget to take part in our awesome monthly challenge for your chance to win a $25 Gift Card!!

    lovies, =o) kel

    Just A Little Hello

Howdy Kat Scrappiness fans!  Maria here on the blog today with a simple card, showcasing the Crafter’s Essentials 1 die set.  If you are waiting for this die-set, you are in luck because they are arriving back in stock next week!  If you haven’t ordered this yet, you can now reserve it so that you don’t have to wait again.

To make things easier for me, I started out by choosing a sketch pattern from the Kat Scrappiness site (you can see this photo on the product sample).  I downloaded this sketch and inserted this piece in the envelope with the dies so I can use them for my future projects.  Sometimes, it is helpful to have it when you’re not feeling crafty!  I am having one of those days since the majority of my supplies are currently loaded in a shipping container, en-route to our home in FL.

I die-cut some A2 size card stock with the rounded-edge rectangle die.  I used the same die to die-cut a patterned paper.

I used the long strip die that is included in the set to die-cut another piece of some white card stock (slightly a different color from my card base).  I also used the stars die to die-cut  one pin pink, blue and yellow.

I stamped my images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored it in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the image with the coordinating die.  To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink and used my belli-roll pen to add more details to the images.  Here’s my card:

I love the simplicity of this card.  I didn’t do a lot as you can tell, but it turned out really cute!  This sketch is also perfect to create a “Welcome Baby” card.  Here’s another look:

This Crafter’s Essentials 1 die set is definitely a must-have for any paper crafter.  I think the little stitched star die is just the right size to add to your projects.  I love the stitching details to it as well.
