Slimline Birthday Card

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here. I am super excited to share with you Embossed Edge Nesting Slimline dies. This is a new die along with the Stitched Scalloped Nesting Slimline die that Kat Scrappiness just released. Slimline cards are great to create scene cards as well as backgrounds with ink blending techniques. Below you will find the steps to create your own Slimline Birthday Card.

Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 7”, score at 3 1/2” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Slimline 3 1/2” x 8 1/2” folded)

Step 2 – Trim White Cardstock to 3 1/2” x 8 1/2” and apply Distress Oxide Inks using an Ink Applicator to create a rainbow pattern. Starting from the top moving down apply Mustard Seed, Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Salty Ocean, Cracked Pistachio. Make sure to blend in between the colours which will create another shade. Optional – Spray some water on the panel and let it sit for 30 seconds, then place a paper towel to pick up the excess. Let dry. This will create a droplet effect.

Step 3 – Diecut Embossed Edge Nesting Slimline using the panel created from Step 2.

Step 4 – Diecut He Is Risen using White Cardstock (Clouds) x2 Small Cloud and x2 Large Cloud. Adhere to panel created from Step 3 using Foam Tape. Trim off the edges using scissors and then adhere to card front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 5 – Apply Distress Oxide Mustard Seed to a scrap piece of White Cardstock. Diecut Crafters Essentials II (sun) and adhere behind the 2nd cloud using Foam Tape.

Step 6 – Diecut Happy Easter With Shadow (only the word Happy) x 3 using Black Cardstock. Stack each diecut and adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. Stamp small sentiment on White Cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink. Trim and adhere over the Happy diecut using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

Step 7 – Optional – For added interest and sparkle adhere Jewels using a Crystal Katana and Collage Medium. I used Yellow, Fuschia, Purple and Lime Green Jewels.

This card can be used for many occasions by changing the sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
