Hi Everyone!
It’s Heidi and I have a project today inspired by the Kat Scrappiness Retro Christmas sequin mix. I love the old-timey, retro Christmas images of the 40s and 50s, so I had to get a project in this month using that theme. The teals, reds and whites bring back memories of those old glass ornaments and aluminum trees of the past.
This is the card I came up with. I used the colors along with the cute pink house to create that retro feel.
To do the snowflakes, I assembled a bunch of snowflake stamps from Avery Elle’s Snowflakes stamp set around the front of my white notecard. The stamp platform made it easy to stamp everything at once. I did one half at a time just so I could use some of the snowflakes a second time.
Next, I die cut one of the Kat Scrappiness Fancy Scalloped Stitched Border Dies, and heat embossed it with some holographic embossing powder. I love that these can double as hills!
Before I placed my hill, I arranged the little house from the Crate Paper Falala chipboard stickers along the bottom half of the card. For those of you hard core scrapbookers, I’m sure you can understand how it pained me to peel that one and only house off that cardboard sheet to use. It’s so hard to use our stuff and not just hold on to it to look at isn’t it???, LOL!
I added the “hill” with some foam tape along the bottom of the card. It’s hard to see in the picture, but that embossing powder creates such a nice, shimmery snow look.
The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Poster Christmas Carols stamp set. I also added the littlest teal sequins from the Kat Scrappiness Retro Christmas sequin mix.
