Hey there! Juhi here sharing a fun CAS card. I’ve used the Little Pickup Stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps, Kat Scrappiness Nest Rope Dies, and a bunch of other stuff from the Kat Scrappiness store, scroll to the bottom of this post for the links to all the products.

I started by scoring the front of the cardstock at half inch intervals and inking it up with Salty Ocean Distress Ink using Clarity Stencil Brushes. I added more color at the top to create an ombre effect.

I then cut out a panel of white cardstock with the Kat Scrappiness Square Nested Rope Dies and embossed the heart pattern. I lightly brushed some Candied Apple Distress Ink to the tops of the embossed hearts, again with Clarity Stencil Brushes.

Finally, I stamped the cute little pickup and the hearts from Honey Bee Stamps onto watercolor paper and colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and fussy cut them. I added some Grey Nuvo Jewel drops on the hearts, the tires and the glass pane of the pickup. The jewel drops did crack a bit on drying but I like the effect 🙂

I love how the card turned out, don’t you think the embossed hearts look like dreamy heart shaped clouds?

Octopi Watercoloring

Hi, everyone! Kevin here sharing how I created a watercolored card. I used a couple different watercolor techniques on this project. Let’s get started!

I started by working on my background. For easy watercolor backgrounds I love to do some ink smooching. This is a super simple technique that gives awesome organic results. I took 3 different blue Distress Inks and tapped them onto a clear block. I spritzed the block with a Ranger spritzer and simple smooched the block onto my paper. I repeated this twice to get some more intense color. ThenI used the largest of the Double Stitched Rectangles from Kat Scrappiness to cut the background. This gave it a more finished look.

Next, I stamped the octopus from Lawn Fawn’s Octopi My Heart stamp set and watercolored him in with my Zig markers. I used three different shades of blue again to match the background. Then I popped him p using some foam tape and added the sentiment from the same stamp set. For my card assembly. I took a strip of LF Perfectly Plaid- Fall paper and added it to a white card base. Then I popped up the water colored panel. To finish it off, I added a sprinkling of Kat Scrappiness Snow Day sequins.

It Would Stink If We Weren’t Friends

Hello and Happy 2017 everyone! This is my first design team post for the year for Kat Scrappiness and today I am sharing a card, showcasing the Little Stinker stamp set by Neat & Tangled, the Stitched-Rope Nested Rectangle dies and a bunch of other supplies available at the shop.

I apologize if I will not have a process video for you today because I still didn’t get my voice back. I have currently have bronchitis, and I am still trying to get rid of this flu. It has been a few weeks now and it is starting to bum me out. Anyway, I have taken some step-by-step photos of my project so I will try and walk you through it.

I started out by stamping the image on Inkadinkado Masking Paper, and fuzzy-cut it with my honeybee scissors. Since this is a one-layer card, I will be using my mask to cover the image.

I die-cut my card panel using the stitched rope nested die on Neenah solar white card stock. I then used my mask to cover the Little Stinker image so I can distress the background with my distress inks. I also cut a mask for my grass hill with the masking paper. I used Spun Sugar and Evergreen bough to distress my background. Once I was satisfied with the color combination, I used my paintbrush to splatter some water on my card panel. Distress ink reacts on water and it really gives a cool effect.

I peeled the mask that was covering the skunk, and started coloring the image with my Copic markers. I used T0, T2 and T4 for my skunk. I also used R00 for the cheeks and the little sign that was being held by the little skunk. I stamped the sentiment on the sign using my Memento Tuxedo black ink.

Since this is a Valentine’s Day card, I felt that I needed to add some hearts. I had an older stamp set from my stash with splattered hearts images and I thought this would be perfect for my card. I used the same mask to cover my skunk again, and stamped the front panel of the card with the heart stamp. It turned out really beautiful!

To finish off the design of the card, and with the help of my favorite tool, the Crystal Katana, I adhered a tiny red heart on the sign, and covered the heart with glossy accents. I love how the card turned out! I hope you love it too and got inspired today.

Lovely, amazing you was the first sentiment that jumped at me when I looked at the Newton’s Nook “Happy Little Thoughts” stamp set. I love stamp sets like that. You can use them all year around and they fit to so many occasions, it’s not a fancy set or one that follows a specific trend. You can use it on any type of card with numerous techniques.

Today I decided to create two little note cards using this stamp set and two more from Lawn Fawn. I started with blending three Distress Inks onto the card base. To get an even look, I blended the inks back and forth a couple of times, from the lightest to the darkest color and back.

Then I stamped all the critters, the wreath and some hearts and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I did some simple Copic coloring, nothing fancy. Just two shades per combination.

I had some leftover vellum with hearts already printed on them, so I adhered the wreath on top and fuzzy cut the vellum around it. At the end I adhered the wreath directly to the card base and used foam tape for the critters. Finally, I added my favorite sentiment “Lovely, Amazing You” from the Newton’s Nook set to the card.

Of course I had to add a little sparkle to the hearts. I just love the Spectrum Noir sparkle pens for those little accents 😉

Sending You Love! – Featuring HoneyBee Stamps Little Pick-up

Hello Everyone!

I’m super excited to be sharing my first Valentine project with you today. I started out by stamping the Little Pick-Up and Hearts from Honey Bee Stamps onto some smooth white card stock. Both images were stamped using my Stampaholic Stamping Tool and Momento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Both the load of hearts as well as the truck were colored with Copic Markers. I used the Little Pick-Up’s coordinating dies to die cut both the truck and stack of hearts.

The hearts were colored with: R22, R27, R29

The Pick-UP: BG10, BG13

Tires, shadows and windows: C00, C3, C5

I added the trail of hearts ( heart stamp also found in this set ) , like they’ve flown out of the back of the truck by stamping them in Lawn Fawn’s Chili Pepper Ink. I outlined them all with a fine black marker to give them the same look as the ones in the back of the pick-up. To finish them off I covered them in Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen and added glittery trails behind the hearts. I added Glossy Accents to both the tires and windows to give them a little shine and dimension.

I prepped the background that the truck sits on by first using a Clarity Stencil Brush to lightly feather on some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for a sky. Using the Sending You Sentiments from Honey Bee Stamps, I stamped the “Sending you” and “Love” on the card using my Stampaholic Stamping Tool again and Versafine Black Onyx Ink. The “road” was cut using the new Lawn Fawn Valentine Borders Dies. This set come with 3 different borders: a scallop, hearts, and the arrows (pictured above). The plaid panel at the bottom was cut from Lawn Fawn’s Perfectly Plaid Christmas 6×6 paper pad, and the whole card front added to a matching top folding card base.

Happy Valentine’s – You Octupi My Heart

Hello! Welcome back friends! I’m so excited to get started on Valentine’s Day projects and I’m sharing my first with you today!

I started out by doing a little bit of ink blending on some Tim Holtz Watercolor Card Stock using my new Clarity Stencil Brushes. I love the soft even finish you get when using these brushes. They’re going to be a game changer for sure! I used Abandoned Coral Distress Ink to add some soft color to my panel.

Next I used this adorable stencil by C.C. Designs called Mini Hearts and applied some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse over top, concentrating on the lower left corner of the card panel.

This new Octopi My Heart stamp set is absolutely adorable. I stamped it using my Memento Tuxedo Black ink and did some very basic coloring using my copic markers.

To assemble my card I cut a white layer using the Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Dies by Gina Marie Designs, along with some grey cardstock to layer behind that.

I heat embossed part of my sentiment on some salmon cardstock and die cut it using the Everyday Sentiment Banner dies. The other part of the sentiment is stamped in blank ink on white cardstock and popped up on some foam tape for added dimension. After attaching the Octopus I finished off the card by adding some White Diamond Sequins using my Crystal Katana tool, and added some Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter to the Octopus for some added shimmer.

Happy New Year Wreath!

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! Today I’m sharing a card that I’ve made to celebrate, using some really great products from the Kat Scrappiness store. I started with a 5×5 card base, which is a favorite size of mine. I die cut the large circle using Kat’s Embossed Rope Circle dies with #lawnfawn #winterplaid 6×6 paper. I also cut out Gina Marie Designs Leaf Wreath and decorated with a smattering of Kat’s 6mm Gold sequin mix and Australian Gold Sequin Mix. I cut and glued together 2 layers of white cardstock using the Brush Script Happy New Year Die, the burnished with Indian Gold Nuvo Mousse. I finished it off with some twine and just love it all put together!
