    Stitched Multi Window Frame Card

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here today. Kat Scrappiness has a fabulous Die Set this month called the Crafters Essentials 1. This is packed with 13 dies that are a must have to your collection which can be mixed and matched to create unique cards. For my card I used the Stitched Multi Frame Window and Stitched Fishtail Banner die from this set along with my favorite Double Stitched Rectangles Die. It is topped off with a sentiment from the Everyday Brush Strokes Stamp set. Below are the steps to replicate this card.

    • Step 1 – Trim White Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/4”, fold in half for a horizontal side fold card (A2)
    • Step 2 – Diecut Double Stitched Rectangles Die using Patterned Paper. Adhere to front of card using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.
    • Step 3 – Diecut Multi Stitched Frame using White Cardstock. Diecut or Trim Patterned Paper to fit underneath the Multi Stitched  Frame. Place the Multi Stitched Frame in the position you want and adhere the rectangle cutouts using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. Add thin strips of foam tape to the backside of the Multi Stitched Frame and adhere to card.
    • Step 4 – Diecut Stitched Fishtail Banner using Patterned Paper. Add a sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Adhere to card using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.
    • Step 5 – Add drops of collage medium adhere Sequins.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. This card can be used for any occasion by changing the patterned paper, color and/or sentiment.

    Patriotic Birthday Card

    Good morning Kat Scrappiness fans!

I hope everyone who celebrates the 4th of July had a safe and enjoyable day yesterday!

In honor of the 4th I thought I’d use the new

Crafter’s Essentials 1 dies to share a patriotic birthday card with you!

The Crafter’s Essentials dies have 13 individual dies in the package and there are literally an endless number of combinations available for making cards.  These dies are a cardmaker’s best friend! There is a great picture showcasing 9 different sketches as examples using these dies in the picture shown below.

My card was a quick and easy one to make and I decided to use quite a few different embossing folders on the card to give it a lot of texture.

I used polka dot folders on the card background and mini polka dots on the letters from the Condensed Lowercase Alphas.

The smaller white panel was embossed with a brick background folder and the circle die was run through my paper crimper to give it some texture as well.

I heat embossed my sentiment from Everyday Brush Strokes on to the blue strip across the circle in white.  I popped the circle, stars, white panel, sentiment and letters on foam tape to give it even more dimension.  Here is a picture of all the supplies used.

    Welcome Baby!

The Crafters Essentials 1 die has so many options.  The design team gals have come up with so many great ideas for this set.  I thought today, since I had this cute baby stamp, I would use some of the shapes from the set for a little “welcome baby card”.

I chose these shapes from the set along with some Watercolor Wishes paper from Lawn Fawn.

I cut my shapes using various colors of the paper.  I love how the stitching on these dies are farther apart.  It’s a softer look–perfect for a baby card!

I colored my stamp using various gray Copics, then cut it out with scissors.

I arranged my shapes on the front of a white notecard, using foam squares for some.  I wanted the squares to kind of mimic baby blocks.  I then added a few sequins for shimmer and texture.

Thanks for joining me today, I have the supplies from the shop I used listed below.  Be sure to use my coupon code Heidi10 to receive 10% off your purchase.  Have a great day!

Ocean Shaker Card featuring Crafter’s Essentials 1 and Heffy Doodle

Hello crafty friends! I’m so excited to show you one of the new Kat Scrappiness die sets for the July release. The new Crafter’s Essentials 1 die set is so fun and versatile. Just wait until you see all the beautiful cards the design team has in store for you. I combined them with the Heffy Doodle Oceans of Love because Heffy Doodle is new to the Kat Scrappiness store.

The inspiration for this card was creating an aquarium shaker card. The large three paneled die worked perfect for this visual. I wanted to add some fun color so I picked my sequins first and let that guide my other color choices. I went with the Mint Sparkles mix from Kat Scrappiness and then used Distress Oxide Inks to create my colored papers. I have a full video tutorial for you today that you can watch below or on YouTube.

At first I thought I would color my narwhal in true colors, but then considering the sentiment I decided to have a bit of fun and make the narwhal pink and the other animals true colors so it would really pop. I also made sure the narwhal was adhered directed to the front so the sequins would shake behind it and not distract from the star of the card.

    Stitched Scalloped Button Card

Hello, crafters!  I hope that you’re all enjoying your Summer, and looking forward to your July 4th celebrations.  Today I’m going to share a card project I made using several shapes from Kat’s new Stitched Scalloped die sets.  These dies will literally work for every single card that you make, and when you mix and match multiple shapes, your options are truly endless.  Let’s get started!

My first step was to cut out all of the shapes I would be using.  I used the largest Stitched Scalloped Rectangle die to cut a piece of lovely floral patterned paper.  Then I cut two Stitched Scalloped Oval dies in two sizes to create my focal piece.

My final cutting was using the smallest of the Stitched Scalloped Circle dies to create my flowers.  These are super cute, and just the right size to allow for a small grouping on a card front.  I used a pretty piece of raspberry pink felt to create them, which cut just as crisply as my card stocks did.  Since I knew that I would be sewing my buttons on, I “felt” like using felt!  Haha!

To create my stems and leaves, I lightly penciled in the lines to give me something to follow.  Then I used my piercing tool and mat to create a series of tiny holes along my lines.  After that, it was easy to use some DMC embroidery floss (all 6 strands together) and a tapestry needle to sew in my lines.  The thick thread completely covered my pencil lines so that I didn’t need to fuss with erasing them.  I think they turned out pretty cute!

Now for some simple assembly.  To help prevent any bumpiness from the threads and knots, I carefully arranged some foam tape pieces across the back of my focal piece.  I centered it on the card and pressed it firmly into place.  All that was left to do was add my sentiment.

For my little sentiment banner, I selected a pretty simple message from one of my many stamp sets.  That way, I can send this card for any occasion.  It’s nice to have a good assortment of all occasion cards on hand so that you’re never caught without one.  I adhered it to the lower right corner of the focal piece, using a little piece of foam tape on the end to raise it up to the same height.

And that’s the finished card!  I hope that you enjoyed this project and got inspired to try something similar.  I cannot encourage you enough to add some (or all) of these Stitched Scalloped shapes to your crafting stash.  They are SO versatile, and really give you some serious bang for your buck!  Please remember that you can use my discount code “CYNTHIA10” when shopping at Kat Scrappiness to save 10% off your entire order.  Thank you for reading my post, and happy crafting!

    Birthday Food!

Hi Friends! kel here today to share a fun foodie card for a special birthday!!

I used the brand new Crafter’s Essentials 1 Dies on this card – just two of the ten million dies in this set… I kid!! But there really are TONS of dies in this set and they’re all amazing!! So from this new die set, I used the window die and fishtail banner die. I stamped out the “happy birthday” sentiment from the Everyday Brushstrokes Stamp Set using my Memento Tuxedo Black ink. And then I stamped out a bunch of the foodstuffs from the Punny Snacks Stamp Set, fussy cut them, and then colored them up with Copics. I tucked them into the windows and tried to spread them out… LOVE!! This Punny Snacks Stamp Set is just too much fun!!

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon! Don’t forget to take part in our awesome monthly challenge for your chance to win a $25 Gift Card!!

    Let’s see your BACKGROUNDS!

Kat has an awesome new die in the shop called the Wood Grain Framed Diamond Wire and it’s so much fun to create with.  Our design team has been busy using this die in very creative ways such as an interesting background or a memo board to hang pictures on.  I thought it would be fun to challenge you to make a card with a fun and interesting background using a die or maybe make your own background with stamps.  Either way let’s see your creativity!

Here are some great cards our design team members have made using

the new die and some fun Kat Scrappiness stamps to make their own backgrounds.

I hope this collage inspires you to create your own fun backgrounds!

While you do not “have” to use our products, we would love to see how you incorporate your

Kat Scrappiness stamps and/or dies in your project!
