    Word Search Love

    Greetings Friends and Crafters,

Clean and simple is on the menu for today’s card. Kat Scrappiness has many wonderful dies that allow us to create beautiful cards with little effort.  The embellishments that are available at Kat Scrappiness work so well with the dies to add a bit a pazazz to the creations.

Simply cut a layer one in white and a card base in black. Using the Kat Scrappiness Valentine Word Search die cut the design out of the white.

Die cut the love word out of a scrap of red and glue into the white card layer.

Add a few Kat Scrappiness Red Heart Sprinkles to the card. Next emboss a small sentiment onto a strip of black and attach to the design. We are done! How simple and easy.

    January Release Wrap Up

Yay, we made it to Friday!  Did you see all the amazing cards that the design team created for this release?  There was so many great items in this release.  I thought I would end the week with a wrap up of the cards I created with this month’s new products.

    Heart Sprinkles

My favorite sprinkles/sequins released this month was the different colored heart sprinkles.  When I saw them, I knew I wanted to line them up in rainbow order.  I also used my favorite Kat Scrappiness product on the card – Stitched Scalloped Rectangle dies.

Say it With Hearts die (coordinates with Say it With Hearts stamp set)

For my first card, I used the Say it With Hearts die by itself with coordinating pattern paper.

My second card uses both the Say it With Hearts die and stamp set.

    Floral Heart die

I think this is my favorite card I made from this release.  I did some ink blending and layered the Floral Heart die to make it stand out on the card.

Happy Valentines Day with Shadow die

The Happy Valentines Day with Shadow die is large enough to make a great focal point on a card.  For my card, I used it with silver glitter card stock on black card stock for the shadow.

    Heart Panel die

I used different shades of pink card stock to back the Heart Panel die for this card.

    Valentine’s Day Word Search die

The Valentine’s Day Word Search die is such a fun and unique die.  For my card, I die cut it using gray card stock, but left the pieces within the die.  I then removed the pieces for the words I wanted to highlight and added pink card stock.

    Valentine Shaker Kits

Last but not least is the new Valentine shaker kits.  I loved making these two cards with the kits and all the fun sequin mixes from the Kat Scrappiness shop.  These kits make it so easy to create fun shaker cards.

For my first card, I’m using Large Heart shaker kit. I embossed the heart with Versamark ink and gold embossing powder.

My second card uses the Love Heart Shaker kit and painted it with red acrylic paint.

    Valentine Medley

Hi Everyone, it’s Priscilla here. Today I have a trio of 3 Valentine’s Day cards, with nothing in common between them. They feature mixed medias, different, color schemes, and different techniques. In fact, the only thing they have in common is that I made them all! LOL! Let’s get started!

My first card features one of Kat’s new “Shaker Card Kits” and a cool alcohol inked background.

I used various shades of purple, pink, and brass alcohol inks, mixed them with the  Tim Holtz  “Alcohol Ink Blending Solution” on Yupo paper, and blew on them with a straw to create the look I was going for.

I colored the frame of the heart shaker kit with “Wilted Violet” Distress Oxide ink and adhered it over the base of the shaker kit that I had filled with some of Kat‘s newly released heart sprinkles and a current “Sweetheart” sequin collection.

The gold heat-embossed “Happy Valentine’s Day” sentiment is from Kat’s “Say It With Hearts” stamp set.

Card #2 features Kat’s new “Floral Heart” die. I die cut the heart from white card stock and colored all these intricate details with  red, green, and gray Copic markers.

The script background stamp and Valentine sentiment die are from my stash. Kat‘s “White Jewels” added a finishing touch.

My third and final card was created using a beautiful Graphic 45 patterned paper, yet the focal point is the elegant new “Happy Valentine’s Day Sentiment with Shadow” die.

I die cut the sentiment from black glitter paper and adhered it on the shadow cut from vellum. The black glitter heart was cut from Kat’s new “Say It With Hearts” die. The “dot” over the “i” is a Kat Scrappiness “Red Heart Droplet.”

Say It With Hearts And Heart Cards

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here. I am sharing 3 cards so I apologize for the longer post. Starting in 2019 I loved creating my own backgrounds. I used to be a paper hoarder. Although I still hoard 6 x 6 paper pads my love for DIY backgrounds is still strong. I love it when a stamp set allows you to create backgrounds. Say It With Hearts is such a cute stamp set because it brings back my youth with the Heart Candies and makes for a fun background. I also love making alcohol backgrounds and never use them. I will show you how the Layering Nested Heart die can showcase an alcohol background without it overtaking the entire card. Below are the three cards I created using the Say It With Hearts Stamp Set and the Layering Nested Heart Die.

All cards are trimmed on White Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and folded in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Diecut Layering Nested Heart 6 times on scrap paper. Use washi or temporary tape to adhere all the hearts to align on a White Cardstock trimmed to 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. Place the die over the temporary diecut. This will fit in perfectly. You will need to do this to all 6 hearts. Diecut Double Stitched rectangles to the panel created. Trim your alcohol background so that it will fit underneath the panel and adhere to card front using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. Adhere the top panel using Foam Tape. Stamp sentiment on Black Cardstock using Versamark, sprinkle White Embossing Powder and heat set it with a heat tool. Trim and adhere to the center using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. See additional photos for visual.

This card is super simple to make and best made using a stamp positioner tool. In various colours of Distress Oxide Inks I stamped the Solid Heart from the Say It With Hearts. When all your hearts are stamped and the ink is dry stamp the mini sentiments inside of the hearts using Versamark, sprinkle White Embossing Powder and heat set it with a Heat Tool. Diecut the panel using Double Stitched Rectangles and adhere to card using Foam Tape. Stamp sentiment on Black Cardstock using Versamark, sprinkle White Embossing Powder and heat set it with a heat tool. Diecut the sentiment using Stitched Fishtail Banners and trim off the left side then adhere to card using Foam Tape. For added interest I applied Nuvo Jewel Drops in various colours on top of White Heart Sprinkles. Let dry and then adhere to card using Collage Medium. See additional photos for visual.

Trim White Cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and Diecut Double Stitched Circle. This will be your top layer and can be used as a guide for the next step. Directly on the card front I stamped various colours of Distress Oxide Inks with the Solid Heart from the Say It With Hearts to fit inside of the circle panel. When all your hearts are stamped and the ink is dry stamp the mini sentiments inside of the hearts using Versamark, sprinkle White Embossing Powder and heat set it with a Heat Tool. Adhere the circle panel to the card front using Foam Tape. For added interest Diecut Layering Nested Hearts in various sizes in Red Cardstock and adhere to card using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. Stamp sentiment on Black Cardstock using Versamark, sprinkle White Embossing Powder and heat set it with a heat tool. Diecut the sentiment using Stitched Fishtail Banners and trim off the right side then adhere to card using Foam Tape.

These cards are using non traditional colours for Valentine’s. What’s fun is that you can change the colours on any of them to make it as soft or bright as you want. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

    Happy Valentine’s Day

    Hi everyone,

Love this time of year when everyone is thinking about their loved ones. I am sharing a simple Valentine card that uses alternative colors of teal, gray, white and purple.

I started by cutting 1/4 inch strips of gray, white and teal.

Next, all the strips are attached to the standard A-2 card layer 2 in a random order trying not to line up seams.

The Kat Scrappiness Happy Valentine’s Day and Shadow Die are cut. The shadow was cut out of silver metallic paper and the sentiment out of purple.

The sentiment was added to the card using foam dimensionals.  A small additional sentiment was stamped on purple and added to the card. Kat Scrappiness Purple Heart Sprinkles were attached. This card layer was finally layered onto two layers of purple card stock completing the card.
