Hello friends! Katty here to share a fun card with you all. I decided to use the adorable new Kat Scrappiness Lola the Giraffe stamp set. I created a card that I will be mailing to a good friend that I haven’t talked to or seen in a while. I thought it’d be a nice surprise for her to receive my handmade card instead of just calling her. It’s always so nice to receive hand made items from friends!
I started off by stamping the giraffe on white cardstock. I used brown ink. I used a Ranger Distress Ink in the color Fossilized Amber to color in the details on the giraffe. I just stamped the ink pad several times on a piece of plastic and added a tiny drop of water. I applied the color with a thin brush.
I used the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fancy Scalloped Square Dies and cut a frame out of a brown piece of patterned paper. I used Heat resistant acetate as the window to create a shaker card. I used a cream polka dot patterned paper and a Tim Holtz sunburst stencil and Mustard colored Texture paste to add fun sun rays behind the shaker window. I tilted the whole shaker piece at an angle for some extra interest. I filled the shaker area with the beautiful Sun Kissed Sequin Mix. I also added three of the Green AB Leaves Sequins at the bottom corner where my giraffe will sit. I placed my giraffe over the acetate instead of behind it.
I created a few layers behind the shaker area. Behind the cream polka dot paper I added a border of the same brown scalloped circle that I used to create the frame. I had to piece together a few pieces since I didn’t have a die that was big enough to go around the whole card. I then added a thin layer of white cardstock and lastly my base which is a teal blue color. I used a teal colored ink to stamp out my two sentiments. Both sentiments are from the same Kat Scrappiness Lola the Giraffe stamp set.
I love how this turned out and I hope my friend loves it just as much. Thanks so much for stopping by today. XOXO -Katty
