Good Morning, Kathy here with some new inspiration for you.  The new Birthday Essentials die set from Kat Scrappiness provides many elements to create beautiful birthday cards. Today’s card is a bit interactive as I added a wobble. I think it is so fun and hope you do too! This was easy to create and a load of fun. Drop a comment below and let me know what you think of this card. The Birthday Essentials die set can be found here and I encourage you to check it out as I don’t think it will be available for long! Now it’s time to make a card!

    CARD DETAILS

    • Cut, score, and fold a 5″ x 5″ card base.
    • Cut a panel from white card stock measuring 4.5″ x 4.5″.
    • Add some interest to this panel by using an embossing folder or just score lines every 1/4″ like I did.
    • With a 3″ circle die, center, and die-cut from the smaller panel.
    • With a slightly larger die, cut a circle from the Birthday Essentials Paper Pack.
    • Die-cut your birthday hats from the Birthday Essentials die set. I cut 4 hats. Two from silver and two from blue card stock. But if you just want to use patterned paper behind your hats you only need two.
    • Trace the hat onto a piece of white card stock and cut it out two times. This will be glued to the back of the hat if you are inlaying your small die-cut elements. If you are using patterned paper trace the hats and glue the patterned paper to the back of the die-cut hats.
    • I took the inside die pieces from one hat and inlaid them into the other hat. So on this card I took the blue dots and inlaid them into the silver hat with dots, then the silver stripes were inlaid into the blue hat.
    • Tape your larger patterned circle to the back of the main card panel with low-tack tape. Add glue ONLY to the circle. Then, center the main panel onto the card base and press down on the circle. This will get you perfect placement for the larger circle. (Remember to remove the low tack tape)
    • Layout your hats. To one of the hats, I added foam tape to pop it up. I added a little wobble piece to the second hat and adhered to that.
    • I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Nocturne Clair black ink from the Everyday Brushstrokes stamp set. I then embossed with clear embossing powder and heated. I cut the sentiment with my paper cutter then cut a slightly larger rectangle from blue card stock. Glue these together and add to your card. Where the sentiment was touching the card I used liquid glue. Then I put a small piece of foam behind the area touching the patterned circle.
    • Add a few silver confetti and the card is done.

As always, I thank you for visiting my blog today and would love for you to subscribe to it. Make sure you stop over and check out the new release at the Kat Scrappiness Shop. It is an amazing release!

  • Rainbow Dreams Slimline Shaker Card

    Rainbow Dreams Slimline Shaker Card

Donna W. here and I’m happy to be on the blog today sharing a slimline shaker card I’ve created using the New Rainbow Dreams Slimline Paper Pad, Cross Stitched Nesting Rectangle Slimline Dies and the New Almandine Garnet Rhinestone Mix along with various sequins.

To start, I cut 2 slimline panels of the Rainbow Dreams slimline paper using the largest of the Cross Stitched Nesting Rectangle Slimline Dies.  For the top layer, I cut 3 circle windows and acetate, applied dimensional foam tape and filled the windows with sequins and Almandine Garnet Rhinestones.  After adhering the back panel, I set the shaker panel aside to cut, stamp and heat emboss a sentiment.

I adhered the shaker element to a card base of Neenah 110 lb. Solar White Classic Crest and completed this fun and colorful Shaker Card.  The recipient can shake, shake, shake their card while doing a Happy Dance.

  • Rainbow Brush Stroke Card

    Hello Kat Scrappiness Fans!

It’s Lisa here and I’m so happy to be bringing you another fun project from the Kat Scrappiness design team!  Today I have a really fun and colorful card to share!  I used one of the new stamp sets in the shop this month called Everyday Brush Strokes.

I’m a sucker for rainbow colors, I have been since I’m a kid!

    ❤ ? ? ? ❤

Those bright colors just make me happy!

Here is the card I’ll be sharing with you today.

I used 4 different colors of Distress Oxide inks and I stamped a repeating background in a rainbow pattern on the front panel that I die cut from the

Kat Scrappiness Stitched Postage Edge rectangle dies.

Once I stamped all the colors all the way down the card I decided to play with a little black paint splatter.  I love to add some fun paint splatter to my cards, it really adds a ton of interest to any project, not to mention it’s just plain FUN!!  I’ll show you a tip for adding this look to your cards with a fan brush in the video below.

After I was happy with the paint splatter on the background, I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then just because I couldn’t get enough paint splattering I decided to do it again with white paint on the black sentiment panel! What a stress reliever!  You must try this technique if you haven’t already!

After I had just the right amount of white paint splatter on the sentiment, I popped the black panel up on foam tape over my rainbow background. To finish off the card I added some Sparkling Clear Solid Confetti Sequins randomly over the card and a colorful pink heart die cut from the Concord and 9th Quilted Heart Die set.

That’s all the rainbow ? paint splattery ?  fun for today!

I hope you’ll try some paint splattering for yourself!

  • Unicorn Color Burst with Angeline

    Unicorn Color Burst with Angeline

Hi. Angeline here to share with you a fun card I made today using the Gerda Steiner Moody Unicorns stamp set and Ken Oliver Liquid Metals Color Burst Precious Alloys

For the background, I was inspired by Maremi SmallArt to draw some circles and paint using some watercolors. I wanted a rainbow burst of colors and some glimmer to it, so I used the Ken Oliver Liquid Metals Color Burst Precious Alloys which is actually liquid watercolors in metallic colors. SO MUCH FUN! I painted the background using my Tim Holtz Water Brush (Detailer brush nib)

Then for the unicorns, I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black Dye Ink onto some white cardstock and colored them with my Copic markers. Then I fussy cut them, popped some foam adhesive to it and adhered it to my card. I finished the card off by stamping the “Surprise” sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black Pigment Ink Pad

Here is the process video (step-by-step) on how I made this fun Unicorn Color Burst card
